High Uric Acid Levels?
Do you have high uric acid levels in your blood? If so then there are chances that if it goes unchecked you might end up suffering from Gout. Gout is a disease that affects the joints .This disease in earlier days was also called as the ?disease of the kings ?because it was associated with overindulgence in drinks and rich food.
But it is not so nowadays, it can strike anyone; men being more at risk than women.
What is uric acid? How does uric acid levels increase in our blood and what precautions can be taken to avoid it? Uric acid is a waste product in our body and is eliminated by our kidneys. Uric acid is produced from the breakdown of a certain kind of a substance known as purine. This substance also produced in our body and is also present in some of the food that we eat. Uric Acid increases due to mainly three conditions? firstly if there is an over production of uric acid in our body(some situations like fasting, strenuous exercising and crash dieting)., secondly if there is a decreased removal of uric acid by the kidneys; thirdly if one takes excess amounts of food which are high in purine.
Foods high in purines which should be avoided by those who are having levels of uric acid are ? quite a few of the non vegetarian food, lentils (dals), whole grains, peas, cauliflower, and mushroom. Alcohol intake slows down the removal of uric acid. Being overweight also adds to the increased levels. A simple blood test (serum uric acid) at a local lab can be good enough for an evaluation.
What is Gout and how does a high level of uric acid in blood lead to gout? Gout is an inflammatory condition of the joint .Gout results in an inflammation of the joint. This is due deposition of uric acid crystals in the joint spaces and or in the connective tissue of the joints. It is a very painful condition causing swelling redness heat pain and stiffness of the joint. Deposits of uric acid, called tophi can appear as lumps under the skin around the joints. Gout mainly affects the big toe but it can affect other joints like gout instep, ankles, heels, knees, wrists, fingers, and elbows
Increased uric acid is not a disease and by itself is not dangerous. However, if excess uric acid levels lead to formation of crystals between the joints, gout can develop. In some individuals excess levels also lead to formation of kidney stones. Please remember not all who have high levels of uric acid, develop gout.
Homoeopathic medicines can be a big boon for all those who suffer from high uric acid. My uric acid has increased since one year. Up to now uric acid level has reached 7.8, however pain of right toe is severe. last year when uric acid level was reached only 5.8 but started severe pain in right toe. since I was very thin I used to go to gym where my gym instructor adivised me to take “Durablin injections” which increased my weight 8 kg within 3 months, but afterthat i stared getting gout attacks and and i consued Zayloric for 3 months 2 tablets daily and but because of this i stated getting eatching on my body. so I switched to homeopahty.but still the eatching in not gone. whenever i take medicine for eatching it goes away and again it comes back.i take 5 drops of “urtre urens and coluchirum” twice in a day since last 8 months,my uric acid level has come down to 5.

I am 45 years old and was first diaganosed for high uric acid 3 years back when I complained of mild pain in my fingers and toes.. Level at that time was 6.7. I was prescribed Zyloric 100 mg to start with and later 200 mg. My uric acid dropped to 5.6 and then 4.3. I was also having a GERD problem and taking Pentaprazole 20/40 mg for this. Zyloric didn’t really work on me, so i switched to homeopathic. after taking three months i am still with high uric acid (12.3) but i am not suffering with the gout attacks any more becoz of the homeopathy medicine. I am not sure on the medicine names, as Dr. gives me prepared.

M age of 54+ and M suffering from uric acid since Oct’2006. Since then using zyloric on regular basis. The level is now at lower side but still having some pain on right thigh and also reast power for both the hand is reduced in comparision to earlier.
Would be grateful if you could prescribed me a balance diet which I should religiously follow. Till date the Doctors have given me a generic answer to what I should eat & not eat, no one has been specific, I am a vegetarian as well as non-vegetarian.

Pain has come back & I am really confused as to whether I should continue with allopathy or should I consult a homeopath.I stay at home but I am very active person,taking cooking classes at home.My doctor told me to have 750 ml. milk everyday.I cannot drink so much milk,but try to take as much as I can.I have reduced intake of dals,chhole etc.

I have uric acid problems. I have got it checked though in reports it is less than 7.00 but I have pains in the joints its level is between 6.00 to 6.9. I in the first hand used zyloric and then a number of homeopathic medicines line Uritica Urinus, Thalapsi Bersa, Icthiolum-30, lycopodium, etc. were used. with some of medicines it decreases to some extent and then again increases back. I avoid the use of rich dytes like meat, chocklate etc. Please help me to come out of this delima.

My father is 53 & is having high uric acid around 10 (last reported in Jan-11) and gout in his legs (randomly at any point in either of legs). we have tried almost every thing including ayurvedic medicines and aloe Vera juice. He is right now taking homeopathic solutions at Mundra, Kutch, India and there is not much palliation because of homeopathy, he has tried it since last 2 months but he also needs to take Gyloric twice a day or get attacked. Normally, we observed gout attacks while season changes. Please, advice any homeopathic medicine for him.

I was having severe pain in my right foot and accordingly I visited a Orthopadic doctor. He advised me to check my uric acid. I checked it and it was 6.3. He gave me medicines namely feburic 40 mg and microcid for 10 days. After 10 days when I checked my uric acid it has rosen to 9.8.
