What is the prostate and where is it located?
This small walnut size gland (prostate) forms a part of the male reproductive system. It is located in front of the rectum and just below the bladder, where urine is stored. The prostate also surrounds the urethra, the canal through which urine passes out of the body. Scientists do not know all the functions of the prostate. One of its main roles, though, is to squeeze fluid into the urethra as sperm move through during sexual climax. This fluid, which helps make up semen, energizes the sperm and makes the vaginal canal less acidic.
What causes the prostate to enlarge?
Throughout their lives, men produce testosterone, an important male hormone, and small amounts of estrogen, a female hormone. As men age, the amount of active testosterone in the blood decreases, leaving a higher proportion of estrogen. Elevated levels of estrogen in blood causes this enlargement which is often referred to as benign prostate hypertrophy (BPH).
What to do if you are having symptoms?
Well, the first step should be to visit your general physician/ urologist/surgeon. A digital rectal examination is usually the first test done. The doctor inserts a gloved finger into the rectum and feels the part of the prostate that sits next to it. This examination gives the doctor a general idea of the size and condition of the prostate. An ultrasound would be necessary to validate its size. The doctor may also want to test a sample of your blood to look for prostate-specific antigen, or PSA. If your PSA is high, it may be a sign that you have prostate cancer. But this test isn?t perfect. Many men with high PSA scores don?t have prostate cancer.
How can homoeopathy help?
In conventional medicine, surgery is often recommended and can be effective. However, surgical treatment at times can result in incontinence and sexual dysfunction and other age-related complications. My age is 56 years old. I had prostate from last 10 years.In 1999,presence of 40 ml. residual urine volume was noticed.Now, it is 120 cc residual urine.Prostate wt. is 12gms.Report had suggested for retrograde urethrogram for further evaculation.But I had not done.From last two months I had taken urimax D.Now I had very pain in left side kidney and back side . I had depression too ;taken Franxit tablet.One doctor by seeing in computer type m/c told that I had Pyelonephrities in left side kidney.Taken Inj.Taxim 500mg per two for 5 days;sporidex 500mg(10 tablet)etc.
Taking this 20% pain reduced.R/E urine shows pus cells(1-2/hpf) and few bacteria;Stool’s test shows undigested food and occult blood –Negative– .What to do for disease-pyro…. and prostate.please suggest.

I am 57 years old. My prostate was 28gm . I have used Urimax D for 9 months and my prostate has come down to 14.5gm. At the same time, I have been doing Yoga continuously for 40 minutes daily, mainly “Kapaal Bhaati”. I would like to recommend the same treatment to others facing prostate problem.

i am taking urimax d for last one year and i am 56 years old have or feel mentally stresses i take one tablet for bp which is always 120-80 , pain in the legs taken medicine calcium tablet and tonic , i have no other problem do there is any inter link between pain in legs and stress due to urimax d ultrasound and blood test are more or less fine my sleep now is ok sleep for 6 hours.

I am 67 yrsold. I have problem BPH. About 5 years back it was severe. I took some allopathic drugs and also HIMPLASIA of Himalaya Drug House. The problem was much under control. I was leading comfortable life.
About a month back the probem has again resurfaced.
At the moment I am taking URIMAX-D (One tablet daily) with HIMPLASIA (2 tablets daily).I do not see any relief.

My father is diagnosed with prostate enlargrment 3 months back,and there was no proper urination dr has inserted catheter for proper urination,2 days back his PSA level report says that he has 6500 PSA,so the doctor advised him to go through the biopsey to detect whether there is prostate cancer,my fathers age is 69 years,as far as we know the PSA level will be 2 to 4 normal and above 10 means its high,can it be 6500?plz help me and give sujessions for treatment.

I have enlarged prostate problem 32gm inFeb2008 amd 64gm in Feb2011.PSA
PSA on Feb2008 was 6.3 Now on Feb2011it is 7.73 Doctor advised me for porstate surgery. Till then he suggested to have ALFUSIN D for 6 months.
Urin Flow is normal. Urinal Stone crushed and removed during Fe 2008.
3weeks ego 7 stones thrown out during urination On scanning there are 2 more 4mm stones in my bladder.
I am using TENO 50 for my BP(140-90)
Doctor told me that there may be dizzness while standing from bed,and so he advised me to sit about 10 to 30 seconds in the bed before standing.
Is there is any problem taking ALFUSIN D along with Teno 50?
And surgery is essential for my prostate?

I am 78 years old and had problem with urine passing about 6 months ago.
I got an ultrasound done and was diagnosed as grade iii prostate.
I have been taking urimax=d for the last two months. There was improvement
in the first month, (last month) but thereafter for the last 15-20 days I have to get
up twice or thrice at night. There is also delay in urine passing but not as bad

Kidneys are normal, urinary bladder is normal as per ultrasound report . IVP test is normal.S PSA is 0.68 ng/ml free PSA is 0.32 ng/ml. Following are the symptoms :-
