Please let me know if I am giving my 10 yr. old , with left sided colitis the correct treatment. During a flare up, her symptoms are as follows:
*watery stool with blood and sometimes mucus
*joint pain in the legs mostly, even at times when her stool i fine
*just recently, a first time occurance of severe pain in her left him socket/joint

We have discovered that oranges and apples, (we think strawberries and bluberries, although we have not tested these two), cause her to begin bleeding, from a period of remission, upon ingesting.When she does begin to flare, we usually cut out wheat and other suspicious culprits from her diet, though she can eat wheat/gluton and not BEGIN bleeding when eaten in an already remissive state.

That said we have been treating her with the following:
*high intake of probiotics
*fish oil
*homeopathy: phospherous, ferum phos, and others with antiinflammatory components/benifits.

A main concern of mine is that we only treat with homiopathic meds when flaring, and actually dwindle from the others when in remission also…

-SHOULD I BE GIVING HER THE TREATMENTS IN OR OUT OF FLARE/REMISSION?? AND
-WHAT MORE SHALL I ADD OR TWEAK GIVEN HER SYMPTOMS?? FINALLY,
-DOES HER DIET PLAY AN EXTREME ROLE(though I do believe it does), and WOULD IT BE BENIFICIAL TO FOLLOW A BLOODTYPE DIET??

Please help me to cure her and become another one of your success stories.
