Eye Floaters: Top 7 Homeopathic Medicines for Black Spots in front of Eyes

Eye floaters are little spots or specks in the vision that move or float when a person moves his eyes. When you try to focus on the spots, they seem to move quickly out of the visual field. Eye floaters are mostly harmless and do not affect the vision significantly, but it is recommended to get the eyes examined by an ophthalmologist on a regular basis if eye floaters are a frequent occurrence. A person may see the floaters as black/gray dots, cobwebs, cloud-like spots, curved lines, rings, or fine strands/strings. A person may see a single floater or the number may be up to hundreds, varying from case to case. Floaters appear more prominent when a person looks at light-colored backgrounds like the sky or a white wall. However, in the event of a sudden increase in eye floaters (especially if a person sees flashes of light or there is a loss of vision), an eye specialist should be consulted on an emergency basis, as it may be a signal of some critical condition like retinal detachment.

homeopathy eye floaters

Homeopathic medicines for eye floaters.

The homeopathic mode of treatment can help in effectively managing eye floaters. Homeopathic medicines give excellent results in cases of eye floaters having mild to moderate intensity. Homeopathic medicines treat eye floaters by fixing the root cause behind them.  This way it provides long-term relief rather than temporary results in these cases. Before beginning a course of homeopathy to fix eye floaters, it is recommended that you visit an ophthalmologist to rule out the cause of eye floaters and any other critical condition. This is because homeopathy has limitations to help cases of eye floaters due to serious causes like retinal tear or bleeding in the eye where help from a conventional mode of treatment is recommended.

There is an enormous therapeutic list for managing eye floaters in homeopathy. Among them, the most suitable homeopathic medicine for eye floaters is selected individually after a detailed analysis of the case. The type of floaters, its worsening factors, cause, and any associated symptoms are given equal importance before finalizing the prescription. As no two cases present the same symptoms, hence the homeopathic prescription varies from person to person as per peculiar characteristic symptoms. Hence it is advisable to take homeopathic medicine after consulting a homeopathic doctor, and self-medication should be avoided.
Homeopathic medicines address the underlying cause in cases of eye floaters. Treating the associated cause is very important to provide long-term management of this complaint. Any treatment that works superficially does not provide long-lasting results. With well-selected homeopathic medicines taken for a long time period as recommended by a homeopathic doctor, many cases of mild to moderate intensity without any serious cause recover wonderfully. However, as said above, it is again emphasized that homeopathy cannot offer help in severe cases and in cases having serious causes where urgent help needs to be taken from the conventional mode of treatment.

Homeopathy treats complaints of eye floaters in a very safe and gentle manner. All the medicines used to treat it are sourced from naturally occurring substances. These medicines do not contain any sort of harmful chemicals and toxins, hence they have zero side effects.

Causes of Eye Floaters

In a majority of the cases, eye floaters arise due to age-related changes that appear in the vitreous inside the eyes. Vitreous humor is a liquid that occupies two thirds of the eyes. Vitreous humor is jelly-like, clear, and transparent matter. It consists mainly of water with a minor content of collagen, salt, and sugar. In aged people, the vitreous begins to liquefy, and the collagen fibers clump together. These strands cast a shadow on the retinal surface that a person perceives as eye floaters. Other causes behind eye floaters include hemorrhage in the vitreous, posterior uveitis (inflammation of the choroid, which is the back part of uvea) and tearing of the retina. Tearing of the retina may lead to retinal detachment that needs prompt treatment to prevent permanent vision loss. Some factors, including diabetes mellitus, injury to the eye and nearsightedness, raise the risk of eye floaters. Eye floaters may also be a part of aura (certain symptoms that occur before the actual onset of headache) in cases of migraine.

    Hello Dr. Sharma,
I suddenly got hundreds of floating specks in mostly my left eye some in the right eye after I passed out from heat exhaustion as I am visiting Asia. I had two painful concussions from the fall, both on the left part of the head one on the left forehead. I read the entire list. Arnica is for injury but I do not have any double vision or flashes and other symptoms. Would Arnica be good even if other symptoms are not present. ?

i would like to treat my eye floaters and dry eyes with homeopathic wholistic methods. what product do you suggest

    • Edward Seaton says:

      Dear Dr Sharma

My wife is suffering from identical problems to Helen Torczyn – dry eye disease and extreme floaters in both eyes. She has been to see an ophthalmologist, who has confirmed that she has no inherent damage to her eyes.

My wife is 57, and the symptoms have been growing since May of this year.

I am particularly keen to hear what you might recommend for the floater, but if you can help with the dry eyes as well, that would be wonderful. I rather suspect the two things are connected.

      Many thanks

      Edward

I have had floaters in my eyes for many years but they never really have bothered me up until now.
About a week ago I experienced a large arc shaped floater moving across my vision in my right eye, and when I was in a dimly lit room the arc shape became a flashing light.
I went to see a retinal specialist the next day and he told me I had a small tear in my retina.
He performed laser surgery to repair this.
I am now 1 week post surgery and am researching every thing to help this to heal.
I would like to get a homeopathic remedy to help the vitreous humor and floaters.
    Which one would you recommend?
    thank you so much

    sincerely,
    Melody
