Attention Deficit Hyperactive disorder ADHD
It is estimated that about 3-5 percent of all kids, have this disorder. Also the most unfortunate thing is that in many cases this disorder goes totally undiagnosed .The child is often mistaken as hyper-energetic kid or as just being more playful, but the reality is that many such kids suffer from a medical disorder known as Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder or ADHD.
It is a common belief that only kids showing signs of physical hyperactivity have some problem related to this disorder. Well, this actually it is not the complete truth. Symptoms of consistent inattentiveness are also associated with this disorder. It is characterized by hyperactivity (physical), inattentiveness, and impulsivity
ADHD is a medical disorder which usually becomes evident in the preschool years or early school years. It is characterized by hyperactivity (physical), inattentiveness, and impulsivity
Kids having ADHD usually depict either of three patterns of behavior. Either they are more of the hyperactive type, which means that they are more physically hyperactive (constantly moving jumping running fidgeting squirming, having difficulty sitting in one place etc) or the ‘inattentive type’ (having difficulty in concentrating, easily distracted) or the ‘combined type’ (having symptoms of hyperactivity and inattention both).
Not all children who run and jump too much suffer from ADHD. It is very important to realize that for a child to be diagnosed with ADHD, certain criterion has to be met with also called as the DSM criteria, before a child can be said to be suffering from it.
Nobody exactly knows what causes ADHD. Recent researches point out the causes could be either neurobiological or genetical. Certain chemical levels in the brain have been found low (dopamine -a chemical that sends messages to the part of the brain involved in attention, movement and motivation). Increased levels of heavy metals (lead) in the body is also seen in some kids .The kind of parenting given to the child has no role in the causation of this disorder, although bad parenting can influence the severity of this disorder.
Implication of ADHD can have far reaching effects, with the schooling of the child taking the biggest hit. Poor performance in school due to ADHD can lead to a hampered self esteem in the child .ADHD can also lead to learning disabilities, defiant behavior ,conduct disorder(anti-social behaviour, stealing ,fighting), anxiety disorders and depression .
Severe forms of ADHD are difficult to differentiate from milder forms of autism, a careful approach is necessary in diagnosing and treating such forms. Such severe forms affect the child?s normal mental development .for example speech and cognitive skills can be markedly affected in such cases.
Homoeopathy for ADHD
Homoeopathy for treatment of ADHD is now being considered as an effective form of treatment in the western society where the prevalence and awareness of this disorder is much more. This is more so because of the great side effects produced by the medicine used in conventional system.
The safety and the lasting effects of homoeopathic medicines is what makes it as an effective choice. Homoeopathic medicines do not produce any sedating effect on the child. Also the improvement gained during the treatment is lasting. While treating the symptoms of hyperactivity and inattentiveness, homoeopathic medicines promote the overall brain development too. Another important aspect in homoeopathic treatment is that homoeopathy sees every case of ADHD as an individual case .This means that the medicine prescribed would be on the basis of the individual symptoms shown by the child. This approach in homoeopathy, gives it an advantage of treating the disorder naturally and effectively.

Good Evening sir
My younger daughter is 2.5 years old. she is physically very active and sometimes do dangerous stunts also but at the same time she is also concerned about her falling and maximum time she manages on her own. she had started speaking mumma papa and activities like bye and clapping 4 months ago. at that time we had shifted our house and from that time she stopped speaking and also do not clap and bye. My major concern is that she never respond, when we call her or stop her for doing any activity except some situations such as she is fond of eating apples, when i call her for that then she came and sometimes when i say her to wear her footwear as we are going to park at that time 60-70% she responds.
I put her in a play school. after 10 days they refused to continue her as she never listen to them always run here and there, stand on chairs and tables, do not play with blocks, throw them and even throw other students also but never harm others. not social at all but enjoy herself by doing such activities and they said they need a special teacher only for her as with a blink of eyes she went outside the class even go upstairs sometimes, that is very risky and they can not afford a separate teacher only for one child.
I am very worried as before 4 months she was normal. what has happened to her. please suggest me some medicine and activities for her as i believe in homeopathic more.
Thanking you in advance.
Hoping to receive your reply soon.

Hi Dr Sharma
I’m worried about my baby I personally feel he has some problem he doesn’t sit in one place and play he runs here and there and touch and break most of the things sometimes he sits quietly and play he’s 2.5 but doesn’t speak a word at all. Most of the times he cries and If something fell down he started crying. Mostly he likes to stay outside also sometimes he doesn’t listen and sometimes he started crying if we scold him or stop him from doing something wrong. He is very sharp minded but He had become so stubborn I don’t know what to do I don’t know do he understand when we are trying to communicate to him please tell if there’s some problem with My baby.
Dr Sharma,
Greetings!!.
My sister’s son is 2.7 yrs.
I lost my sister at the time of birth of her son in 2014 due to medical negligence. She lost her life after fighting for 12 days after delivery and after few hrs of c-section she had multiple organ failure and was on dialysis for 9-10 times during the course of her treatment.
The baby is with his father and interacts with moving/pointing hands and making sounds like oooooo and speaks not a single word.
Doctor please advice as his father is basically introvert and after death of my sister he has partially made himself cut off from family members and relatives making his son the only reason for his survival. The infant has been shown to local medical practitioner but he quoted that some infants speak late and would do so in due course and is not a matter of concern.
But we are worried as we have lost our sister and moreover at this age children in our town communicate and even go to play schools .
Please advice doc

My 10 year old son is highly inattentive, be it school or home. Leaves his classwork incomplete and hardly bothers about homework. Is quarresome and argumentative with all, irresepective of age most of the times. Has good brain and is so fond of playing but appears to lose focus. Never ready to accept his defeat in anything. Negative things appears to grab his attention always. He is barely ready to learn anything from the positive things. This behavior is continuing for the last 3 years now. Dont understand how to deal with it.
My son is 8yrs old and in class 3. He is hyperactive. He can’t sit still even for a minute. He does not concentrate on his studies or games or whatever he’s doing. He can’t memorize properly, forgets very quickly, like in just five minutes. Only likes to learn subjects which are easy avoids the subjects or lessons he finds difficult. Always puts excuses when it’s time for homework or studying. My son was born with swelling on left side of his head caused due to pressure of pushing in normal delivery. The swelling went down gradually it took about 45days.I was thinking if that is the reason for his inability to memorize. Please advise doctor.
My son is 3.6 years old and is going to play school from the age of 22 months. He never pays attention towards what we say. He even can’t write. Most of the time I don’t understand whether he is getting what we say. In oral tasks in school he is good and always gets A in class but when it comes to proper conversations he doesn’t communicate with us properly. I don’t know what should I do. The children in his class communicates properly. He is very social and enjoys the company of other children. He also plays with his sister. So I can’t say he is autistic. Please suggest me what to do? One more thing he gets angry very often and always wanted his revenge even when sometimes I cleans his nose or ears he also wanted to do the same.
