Attention Deficit Hyperactive disorder ADHD
It is estimated that about 3-5 percent of all kids, have this disorder. Also the most unfortunate thing is that in many cases this disorder goes totally undiagnosed .The child is often mistaken as hyper-energetic kid or as just being more playful, but the reality is that many such kids suffer from a medical disorder known as Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder or ADHD.
It is a common belief that only kids showing signs of physical hyperactivity have some problem related to this disorder. Well, this actually it is not the complete truth. Symptoms of consistent inattentiveness are also associated with this disorder. It is characterized by hyperactivity (physical), inattentiveness, and impulsivity
ADHD is a medical disorder which usually becomes evident in the preschool years or early school years. It is characterized by hyperactivity (physical), inattentiveness, and impulsivity
Kids having ADHD usually depict either of three patterns of behavior. Either they are more of the hyperactive type, which means that they are more physically hyperactive (constantly moving jumping running fidgeting squirming, having difficulty sitting in one place etc) or the ‘inattentive type’ (having difficulty in concentrating, easily distracted) or the ‘combined type’ (having symptoms of hyperactivity and inattention both).
Not all children who run and jump too much suffer from ADHD. It is very important to realize that for a child to be diagnosed with ADHD, certain criterion has to be met with also called as the DSM criteria, before a child can be said to be suffering from it.
Nobody exactly knows what causes ADHD. Recent researches point out the causes could be either neurobiological or genetical. Certain chemical levels in the brain have been found low (dopamine -a chemical that sends messages to the part of the brain involved in attention, movement and motivation). Increased levels of heavy metals (lead) in the body is also seen in some kids .The kind of parenting given to the child has no role in the causation of this disorder, although bad parenting can influence the severity of this disorder.
Implication of ADHD can have far reaching effects, with the schooling of the child taking the biggest hit. Poor performance in school due to ADHD can lead to a hampered self esteem in the child .ADHD can also lead to learning disabilities, defiant behavior ,conduct disorder(anti-social behaviour, stealing ,fighting), anxiety disorders and depression .
Severe forms of ADHD are difficult to differentiate from milder forms of autism, a careful approach is necessary in diagnosing and treating such forms. Such severe forms affect the child?s normal mental development .for example speech and cognitive skills can be markedly affected in such cases.
Homoeopathy for ADHD
Homoeopathy for treatment of ADHD is now being considered as an effective form of treatment in the western society where the prevalence and awareness of this disorder is much more. This is more so because of the great side effects produced by the medicine used in conventional system.
The safety and the lasting effects of homoeopathic medicines is what makes it as an effective choice. Homoeopathic medicines do not produce any sedating effect on the child. Also the improvement gained during the treatment is lasting. While treating the symptoms of hyperactivity and inattentiveness, homoeopathic medicines promote the overall brain development too. Another important aspect in homoeopathic treatment is that homoeopathy sees every case of ADHD as an individual case .This means that the medicine prescribed would be on the basis of the individual symptoms shown by the child. This approach in homoeopathy, gives it an advantage of treating the disorder naturally and effectively.

Hello Doctor,
My son is 6+ and is reading in Class 1. I had to leave my son to another city at my parents home 2 years back because i was required to work as my husband’s work was deteriorating day by day. My son also learn talking late after he was 2 years and when i visited ENT specialist at that time they told me that he has attention deficit problem but i thought he will be ok later on. But my mother called me yesterday and told me that his problem is increasing as teachers are complaining that he is not listening to them when they are teaching, neither submitting copies to teachers when they are asking and telling that he may have mental problem but i dont believe this. He most of the time remains in his own world and doesnot listen to others. I know this before also that whenever we are talking to him he is not looking at us also and not listening untill and unless scolded. He repeats the dialogues from the cartoon characters and ad films all the times whether he is eating or studying or watching cartoons. He even doesnot sit at a place and eat. My mother has to always call him again and again for eating and he constantly moves here and there everytime which tires his legs tremenduosly at night when he sleeps and my mother or father have to relax his legs every night before he sleeps. I have also decided therefore to shift to my mothers place as soon as i get job there and be with my child as my husband has also closed his business few months back. There i had to do job but atleast i can spend some time with him and can try to remove his problem to some extent. Please help me in this regard as i am tremendously tensed by this fact and suggest me an affordable remedy?

My son is 12 years old. He is very unmindful in his studies. He is having learning disabilities. He was good in his studies few years back. He don’t know the importance of marks in exam, why to score marks. We repeatedly tell him the importance of study but failed. When you command him to do something he rarely responds. But He has very much creative mind in electrical or electronics field. He likes to play with those items. He asks questions very much on these fields. In exam paper he writes only as per his wish even if he knows the answer.
