If you have frequent bloating of abdomen, recurrent pain in your belly, and if you get loose stools or get constipated very often; then there are good enough chances that you could be suffering from IBS. Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) is a functional disorder of the intestines; this means that it does not cause physical changes in your gut, but only affects the functioning of the intestines. Although the cause of IBS is not very clear but it is widely believed that IBS is caused by disturbances in the nerve ending in the wall of the intestines, which control the muscles of the intestinal wall. Under normal circumstances these muscles in the walls of the intestines contract and relax alternatively to push the digested food forwards towards the rectum (terminal part of the intestinal canal). These muscles work in a rhythmic and a coordinated way. But for those who have IBS these muscles start working in an erratic fashion. The muscles may suddenly start contracting in a very strong manner casing the digested food to move out in a very speedily manner leading to diarrhea and cramps. On the other hand if the contractions become slow the bowel movements become constipated. Bloating is thought to be caused by the heightened sensitivity of the intestinal wall. Even small amounts of gas can give a feeling of distension (‘full of gas’ feeling in abdomen) due to the heightened sensitivity when intestinal walls are stretched even slightly by gas.
People suffering from IBS can have their symptoms triggered by external as well as internal factors. External factors are food substances like milk, alcohol eggs carbonated drinks etc. Stress is a major internal factor for triggering and affecting the symptoms of IBS. Trigger factors can hugely vary from an individual to individual.

I have been suffering from body discomfort ,heavy stomach after meal, iregular bowel. Let me brief from the begining. At first i had body discomfort ,weak hands and legs,dry mouth ,heavy tounge,anxiety and of course bowel problem. I had alopathy treatment for a week ,and den moved to homeopathy. It helped me a lot ,but my anxiety still prevailed. Also i had burning sensation only at night during sleep. Gradualy i felt better. Some problem like tingling sensation in my head and body only during night.
I am not agreed with your statement above. I am suffering from IBS for last twenty five years. I went through lots of treatment in India(Calcutta, Delhi, Cennai), UK and Singapore. I took both homeopathy and allopathic treatment. Nothing works with my body. I suggest only to cure is diet control, meditation and hypnotherapy. I have got some benefit by meditation. If you have anything magic for IBS treatment please let me know.

I am suffering from IBS for the last 30 years. I am currently 60 years old. I have no abdominial pain, but I never have a clear bowel movement, although I go to the latrine twice every day. My stool is not soft or runny, but I always have a discharge of a lot of mucous after the bowels- which irritates me the most. As a result I am unable to travel to many places. I have been suffering from IBS for past one year. Last january colonoscopy was done and everything was normal. I used allopathy medicines and I was alright for some time. Once again it is repeated. Sir , i don,t know what is ibs but i am having somach problem some people say its navel displacement with massage it get cured for few days but i am searching for parmanent cure . it started 2.5 years ago , i had no gas problem in ultrasound report and no problem found in ultra sound , all reports are normal

last 6 to 8 months when i go morning toilet my stool is coming lose not watery but thick and my regular habit i am going two times toilet in morning i have consult many doctors including homeopathy every body telling me nothing to worry stool depend person to person .
i do not have in pain in my stomach or cramp only solid stool is not coming at present i am taking hemeopathy medicine but not satisfactory i have lose my weight about 8 kgs .

I have had IBS pretty much all my life, but after surgeries such as hysterectomy, appendix, etc… I have lots of scar tissue that have made bowel spasms very uncomfortable. I have been taking Linzess for the constipation which does stop the bowel discomfort but causes stomach pain. I get very bloated after eating and though I eat very little I gain weight and bloat. Any suggestions for a homepath remedy.

I have been suffering from mild type of depression with more bodily symptoms.i have been diagnosed as case of IBS constipation.my problem is IBS type constipation which started around 2.5 years ago.(before that i had never any sign of constipation) it started when i went to certain city and from there it continues till now even i had left that city around 2years ago.it started with bloating , fullness of stomach,nausea, and constipation.when i left that city and went to my parent city, sum symptoms like bloating and fullness of stomach subsided. but constipation was there but not as severe as was there earlier in that city.may be the problem was with water. i use hard water (underground water) which does not cause bloating. also i used antidepressants for sum time (sertraline) for this and it eased my symptoms. but now as i hav stopped setraline, sumtime i have severe constipation . i also tried zelnorm and nux30,lycopodium 30 but to no avail. i want to know whether there is any specific medicine in homeopathy for ibs constipation specific which can be helpful in my case. allopathic medicines are dissapointing in IBS.pls advice me medicine which does not interfere with sepia
