ULCERATIVE COLITIS (UC) is a disease in which the lining of the large intestine (colon) becomes inflamed. This inflammation leads to the formation of raw sores, or ulcers, causing pain and bloody diarrhea. UC usually begins gradually with bloody diarrhea, rectal bleeding, cramps or pain in the belly, and growing urgency to move the bowels. Depending on which area of the colon is affected, the stool may be normal or hard and dry.
Other symptoms may be fever, fatigue, weight loss, loss of appetite, anaemia from loss of blood, pus in the stool, malnutrition and slow growth in children.
UC can also affect parts of the body outside the colon, causing skin sores, mouth sores, joint pain, and inflammation of the eyes, the liver, the kidneys or the gallbladder.
Homeopathic medicines Merc Sol, Merc Cor, Sulphur and Phosphorus are a few of the important ones used in treating ulcerative colitis. The patient requiring Merc Sol has a continuous urge for passing stool and urine ? a never-get-done feeling. One often passes pure blood or bloody water. Symptoms asking for Merc Cor are nearly the same as those of Merc Sol; it is only the intensity which contributes to the selection. Merc Cor has more violent attacks, with a violent urge to pass stool and to urinate. Intense suffering follows. Phosphorus is indicated in cases which have painless and profuse stool passed involuntarily and freely.
Sulphur is indicated in long-standing cases of ulcerative colitis

sir, i have been suffering from ulcerative colits for the last 6 months (may be so many months or years I found through tests 6 months back) the doctor suggested to take Mesacol OD (1.2 g) in the morning and evening for one year period. I cam to know that there are some side-effects may arise if the drug uses for prolonged period. Whether any permanent cure in Homeopathy if so please suggest sir, i will be ever grateful to you sir.

I am 31 years old. I have been suffering Ulcerative Colitics for 6 years (Diagonise form PVS Memorial Hospital 2008). Now I am using medicine MESACOL 800 3 times in a day for 6 Years. Some time symtoms recure. One Years (2009) I use HOMEO Medicine . The Colitics Flare up and I was hospitilised.
Can you please recomend me any homeopathy medicine which can cure the problem forever. I will really apperciate that.
I was diagnosed moderate ulcerated colities 5 years and initially taking mesacol 400×4 a day and for the past 2 years mesacol400x6 a day .if there is a flare up with blood in stools,I use mesacol enema at least 4 days….are there good medicines in homeopathy!

my husband kalyanasundaram was found that he had ulcervative colitis gastronologist found that by doing endoscopy and colonoscopy then he prescribed asacol 400 mg 4 tab every morning
it causes all the side effects of that then he started from march 2014 steriod 10mg he started with 3 tables every moring (30 Mg) after 15 days 20 mg and like that they reduced to 5 mg and he stopped that then he started lialda that also causes the same side effects of asacol again doctor ask us to stop the medicine immediately and then again started steriod and azathioprine 50 mg 2 tablets every morning and steriod 30 mg every morning then everytwenty days he ask us to reduce to 20 mg and 15 mg and 12.5 mg and 10 mg in the mean time my husband got serious side effects like swelling from knee to foot lot of pain from ankel to foot and swelling in face he was unable to walk this happens when steriod came to 12.5 mg with azathioprine 50mg tablet 2 tablet every morning he still suffering from this past 20 days we went to emergeny they took all blood works and ultra sound and cultural tests still cultural test result we know except that all is fine know my question is he is diabetic patient will it is possible to cure this and he want to become normal in his activities that is my humble request i worried about him a lot waiting for your favourable reply

Dear Dr. Vikas Sharma, My mother since childhood is patient for chronic ulcerative collitis and Dysentry. She eats normal simple digestibal balanced food daily since years all strictly home made . She is 72 years old. Has undergone severe ayurvedic , aelopethic and homeopathic treatments throughout life. Since last 3 months she is taking aelopethic treatmet of 6 mesacols per day with consultation of best abdomenal expert doctors in pune. LAST 2-3 MONTHS, HER WEIGHT GETTING REDUCED DAY . Last 15 days she again severly suffering from ulcerative collitis , large mucous formed in abdomen and huge disturbance in abdoment. in day she eats apprx. 15-20 tablespoons of rice with light curry, normal vegetables, roti (in a day 2-3) and very less amount of raita . she eats for years very less oil and no inflamatory , oily, sugarry food. My son Ramanuj Sharma(age:-9 months) is suffering from Diarrhea for last 2 months. Lots of probiotics are taken. But the outcome is zero. He is having mucus and smell in stool from the beginning of 2 months. But my peditrician over looked the matter and gave 1 medicine which is Unienzyme. He was ok for 6 months. But always he has mucus in stool. Recently,7 days before I saw blood in his stool. But now the blood is gone. Last month he was admitted to hospital for 5 days.
