ULCERATIVE COLITIS (UC) is a disease in which the lining of the large intestine (colon) becomes inflamed. This inflammation leads to the formation of raw sores, or ulcers, causing pain and bloody diarrhea. UC usually begins gradually with bloody diarrhea, rectal bleeding, cramps or pain in the belly, and growing urgency to move the bowels. Depending on which area of the colon is affected, the stool may be normal or hard and dry.
Other symptoms may be fever, fatigue, weight loss, loss of appetite, anaemia from loss of blood, pus in the stool, malnutrition and slow growth in children.
UC can also affect parts of the body outside the colon, causing skin sores, mouth sores, joint pain, and inflammation of the eyes, the liver, the kidneys or the gallbladder.
Homeopathic medicines Merc Sol, Merc Cor, Sulphur and Phosphorus are a few of the important ones used in treating ulcerative colitis. The patient requiring Merc Sol has a continuous urge for passing stool and urine ? a never-get-done feeling. One often passes pure blood or bloody water. Symptoms asking for Merc Cor are nearly the same as those of Merc Sol; it is only the intensity which contributes to the selection. Merc Cor has more violent attacks, with a violent urge to pass stool and to urinate. Intense suffering follows. Phosphorus is indicated in cases which have painless and profuse stool passed involuntarily and freely.
Sulphur is indicated in long-standing cases of ulcerative colitis

Preparation was fair.
E/O Multiple ulcers with granularity and loss of vascular pattern seen starting from rectum up to hepatic flexture.

Dear Dr. Sharma,
My father aged 72 is suffering with ulcerative colits since Jan 2014. We observed atleast 6-7 times stooling(sometimes bleeding) a day within an hour in early morning and he is completely uneasy for the whole day.
As per Doctor’s suggestion, we tried Pentasa 2g for nearly 2 months and applied a foam it didnt help much instead it increased coughing. Last month Doctor prescribed another medication that is Mesacol 800g but no improvement.
Still coughing is very high after taking Mesacol.
Could you please suggest whether the above issue can be cured with Homeopathy?

I am a patient of ulcerative colitis…having treatment from 22 dec. misacol 2400 mg and omnicortil 40 mg per day…i am taking very light food n following all the instructions of doc as well.but still feel some blood with stool some time..what should i do now…? how can homeopathy treatment help me out..?

I have been suffering from ulcerative colits since 2007 and on strong alopathy medicine like Mesacol, Vegaz OD, intazide etc since then. There is no permanent cure in alopathy as my gastroentrologist told me. Can you please recomend me any homeopathy medicine which can cure the problem forever. I will really apperciate that.

I’m suffering from Ulcerative Colitis from last 2 years, have taken treatment in Ramaiah Hospital and had gone for 6 months. But will comeback often and if I take the medication, it will stop.
I’m in Singapore, I can’t get that medicine prescribed by Indian doctors.
Kindly advise me, how to resolve my issue and bring my Gut to normal. Is there any fruits and vegetable which can coll down my Gut?

My son aged 12 years passed with a V.P.Shunt operation on brain at the age of 15 days at kolkata & since then he is a patient of abdomen problem. I am from Kolkata. I have Ulcerative Colitis from the past 5 years. However I came to know since 3 years before. I contacted allopathic doctor and he prescribed me sazo 500 then 1000 daily 2 times with nexpro RD 20 and Isabghula. After 2 years I stopped to take medicine and the disease relapses. So, my family told me to consult Haemopathic doctor. I am taking hemopathic medicine from the past 6 months. But still wihtin 10-15 days I came with blood or mucus in stool. I am also getting weak and had lost 6 kgs weight. I am totally confused of getting well as no medicine is giving me comfort and wellbeing. I seek your advice is this context. I have been passing mucous and blood for 10 weeks now. Scope done says diverticulitis but can’t see that this is the symptoms of that. I am awakening about 5 times every night to pass mucous and blood urgently but no stool. Feel very tired and sweat easily. I am suffering from Ulcerative colities since last on and half years and taking Vegaz OD since then. I had four to five flair ups during these days. Now I m taking Budez CR and Vegaz OD td. Plz suggest how can I completely cured. I had colonoscopy in June 13 and it was moderately active colities.
