ULCERATIVE COLITIS (UC) is a disease in which the lining of the large intestine (colon) becomes inflamed. This inflammation leads to the formation of raw sores, or ulcers, causing pain and bloody diarrhea. UC usually begins gradually with bloody diarrhea, rectal bleeding, cramps or pain in the belly, and growing urgency to move the bowels. Depending on which area of the colon is affected, the stool may be normal or hard and dry.
Other symptoms may be fever, fatigue, weight loss, loss of appetite, anaemia from loss of blood, pus in the stool, malnutrition and slow growth in children.
UC can also affect parts of the body outside the colon, causing skin sores, mouth sores, joint pain, and inflammation of the eyes, the liver, the kidneys or the gallbladder.
Homeopathic medicines Merc Sol, Merc Cor, Sulphur and Phosphorus are a few of the important ones used in treating ulcerative colitis. The patient requiring Merc Sol has a continuous urge for passing stool and urine ? a never-get-done feeling. One often passes pure blood or bloody water. Symptoms asking for Merc Cor are nearly the same as those of Merc Sol; it is only the intensity which contributes to the selection. Merc Cor has more violent attacks, with a violent urge to pass stool and to urinate. Intense suffering follows. Phosphorus is indicated in cases which have painless and profuse stool passed involuntarily and freely.
Sulphur is indicated in long-standing cases of ulcerative colitis

Dear Doctor, Just got my colonoscopy done there was inflammation and ulcers in colon…awaiting Biopsy report in few days.. Please let me know the homeopathic medicine which will help to make my symptoms better.
I pass out normal stool and presently on few medicines.
But awaiting the report for further course of medication.

Having been diagnosed with left-sided ulcerative colitis, I have been having Messacol 800mg.(2X3 times a day) along with Wysolone 40mg.(in fortnightly reducing dosage by 5mg) anf vitamin supplements since 3rd Sept. For the last few days I have been having stomach cramps at times along with rectal discomfort accompanied by blood in stools. Am worried about my weight loss despite following the diet chart advised by the dietitian. Please advise homeopathic alternative.

I am 38 years old male suffering from chronic constipation since childhood. Stool is not hard but full evacuation needs almost half hour time and I could not leave in between because I can feel that next part is coming and it does come.
One and half year back, I felt severe pain in left flank area and I had to rush to hospital where they gave me painkillers and after some tests, I was diagnosed with a very tiny 0.25mm stone which was all clear in next few weeks.
But even then the pain in left flank area does not went away and I can feel the pain after the gap of few days. I thought that stone still exists but after 6 months I did CT scan again and found that stone was all clear.
Now it is one and half year but pain of left flank area and pain on left front abdomen (immediately below the ribs) still exists and before it was after the gap of few days but now it is almost daily.
I went to an alopathic doctor who told me after few tests that you might have colitis and prescribed some laxatives, antibiotics, pain killers, etc.
I want to do homeopathic treatment therefore request you if any doctor can prescribe me any homeo medicine please. I will be very much thankful to him.
The tests I did was:
1) Serum Alanine Transaminase (ALT) and the result was 21 which is normal range.
2) Full Abdomen Ultrasound and everything was normal.
3) Complete blood picture (I can attach the report if required)
4) Urine RE: Other than normal ones, the following was the result:
Reaction (ph): Acid
Pus Cells / WBC’s: 1-2
I had lost too much weight too in last 2-3 months.
Please help.

Respected Dr I am 27 yrs old sufferings of Ulcerative protosigmoiditis last 2yrs dr.gastro advice me mesacol od1.2gram once a day second colonoscopy done on 24/8/15 and impression was normal study No ulcer seen in whole colon. Dr advice me tmt will be cont next 3 month and then you will stop I did same but after 15 day stop medicine. Same problem start symptoms are .. My 22-year-old daughter has ulcerative colitis and Von Willebrand’s Disease–not a good combo. We have been treating it with diet, essential oils and natural supplements since her diagnosis in October 2014. There has been improvement, however, she has yet to experience a day/night without using the bathroom less than at least 10 times. Diarrhea has been constant.
