gastric problems and homeopathy

December 28, 2008

NUX Vomica is a remedy for many conditions of modern life. The typical Nux patient does a good deal of mental work. He has mental strains and leads a sedentary life. He is engaged in prolonged office work, deep study and close application to business with its attendant cares and anxieties. Indoor life and mental strain seek stimulants – coffee, wine, possibly in excess; or again, he hopes to quieten his excitement by indulging in the “pleasures” of tobacco. He may become a victim of seductive drugs like opium.

These things are associated with other indulgences. At the table, he takes, preferably, rich and stimulating food. Wine plays a part in making him forget the stress of the day. Late hours are a consequence; a thick head, sluggish digestion (constipation, acidity and excessive gas formation), and irritable temper are the next day’s lot. Nux Vomica 200, one dose at night for a week, with rest and no stimulants, can wash away the blues.

Curing acidity

Acidity tends to have a much higher incidence in highly emotional and nervous individuals. The consumption of alcohol, highly spicy foodstuff, non-vegetarian diets, and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) also predispose one to gastric acidity. Natrum Phos leads a group of homoeopathic medicines used against acidity. The indications for its use include: a burning sensation in the chest behind the sternum (breast-bone) which can originate from the stomach and extend even to the throat; this burning may also be accompanied by sour vomiting, and often a yellow creamy-coated tongue; Natrum Phos 30c four times a day for a week will reduce the acidity.

Another homoeopathic medicine, Arsenic Album, is well suited only if these symptoms occur around midnight – the 30c potency of Arsenic Album can be used in a similar way. A suitable diet must be strictly followed, avoiding spicy, salty and acidic food. Smoking and alcohol must be stopped. Those with a highly nervous and emotional disposition and those involved in high-stress jobs must be encouraged to take lifestyle-modifying measures.profile pic

I am writing you in detail my history so please spare some time from your so busy life, I will be very thankful to you.
I am requesting you to advice me some medicine for IBS, BPV and Vertigo which have been diagnoses by Doctors in Pakistan. My brief history is as follow:
I have digestive problem like gas trouble and going to bath room four or five times in a day from long ago say 1990. I think, I have no constipation and diarrhea but have normal stool in little quantity. In 1999 a Doctor which was a Medical specialist diagnose that I have IBS with out doing any test and advised me the following medicine for whole life during problem.
    i. Tab: Coloofac,
    ii. Tab: NOSPA(Drotaverine HCL)
    iii. Tab: Motival
Then in the year 2000, when I was doing master degree course and was in too much tension. One day I feel dizziness, so with the support of some one I reached to bed and lay down. At that time too much sweat from my body get out and start vomiting and too much belching. Also at that time I can not open my eyes and remain closed and no one can touch me. On calling Doctor my blood pressure was normal, he inject Stimitle injection so after thirty minutes I became normal. I was using that time, medicine above. I got same attack again three or four times after some tenure.
Then on dated 15-05-2004, I went to another Doctor which was also a medical specialist (Professor of Medcine), he also diagnose IBS+BPV and advised me the following medicine:
    i. Cap: Spasmonol
    ii. Tab: Zental.
Using above medicines there was no improvement but more gas created.
So on dated 30-05-2004, I went to another Doctor which was also medical & chest specialist for check up. He also diagnose IBS without any test and advice me the following medicine:
    i. Tab: Coolofac
    ii. Tab:Meperazole
    iii. Tab: Depex
    iv. Tab: Ganaton.
On second visit on dated 04-07-2004 he adviced same medicine for prolong.
On dated 01-02-2006 when I was too much in depression due to some business problem again attack of dizziness occur. This time it was so severe that along with sweat, vomiting, too much belching, also I feel too much inflammatory in stomach and wanted to go wash room but how can I went because of dizziness and closed eyes. It was so difficult when I tried for getting up I fell down. So my brother arrange some pot in which I did the bowel (Stool). After some time I feel better and then sleep. On next day ie 02-02-2006 I visited to another Doctor which is Gastroentrologist). He advised me the following tests:
    i. Sigmoidoscopy
    ii. Ultra sound
    iii. LFT

I did the above tests and all were normal. He also diagnose IBS and advised the following medicines:

These are total detail of medicines of three visits to him from 2-02-2006 to 09 -05-2006. During his treatment I was feeling uncomfortably and all the time feeling unbalanced situation and too much burping/belching were occur. On third visit he said me you are OK.

After completing the course I visited to ENT specialist and he advised me:
