ULCERATIVE COLITIS (UC) is a disease in which the lining of the large intestine (colon) becomes inflamed. This inflammation leads to the formation of raw sores, or ulcers, causing pain and bloody diarrhea. UC usually begins gradually with bloody diarrhea, rectal bleeding, cramps or pain in the belly, and growing urgency to move the bowels. Depending on which area of the colon is affected, the stool may be normal or hard and dry.
Other symptoms may be fever, fatigue, weight loss, loss of appetite, anaemia from loss of blood, pus in the stool, malnutrition and slow growth in children.
UC can also affect parts of the body outside the colon, causing skin sores, mouth sores, joint pain, and inflammation of the eyes, the liver, the kidneys or the gallbladder.
Homeopathic medicines Merc Sol, Merc Cor, Sulphur and Phosphorus are a few of the important ones used in treating ulcerative colitis. The patient requiring Merc Sol has a continuous urge for passing stool and urine ? a never-get-done feeling. One often passes pure blood or bloody water. Symptoms asking for Merc Cor are nearly the same as those of Merc Sol; it is only the intensity which contributes to the selection. Merc Cor has more violent attacks, with a violent urge to pass stool and to urinate. Intense suffering follows. Phosphorus is indicated in cases which have painless and profuse stool passed involuntarily and freely.
Sulphur is indicated in long-standing cases of ulcerative colitis

My husband was diagnosed with UC around 6 months back. since then he is on allopathy treatment. The disease flares up at any time. For some days it subsides otherwise it flares up on other days.. He is always in pain in the lower abdomen and gets lots of cramps. During the day, he visits the loo atleast 5 times. The max goes upto 10 times or even more. He even gets fever and headache.. there is pain in joints also. At times he feels uneasy..This has really affected our normal routine.And he is losing weight considerably..

I’M suffering from ulcerative collitis since 2 and 1/2 yrs. I am 47 yrs old. i am taking SAZO(sulfasalazine 1gm BD 2times a day). when bleeding starts i take steroids (20 mg 5 dayss then 10 mg 5 days then 5mg 5 days). Will UC cure??? when i started this medicine, till 1 yr there was no complication as such but now often i get relapses and blood in my stool nowadays. hb count was reduced to 5gm .then i had blood transfusions 2 times. can i use homeopathy medicines with allopathy?? please suggest me any medicine which can cure me of this and please recommend me the correct diet.

I m suffering from UC from last 2 years. Elopathy treatment for this is going on. Doctor recommend WALASA n steroid. When I take these medicine then it get under control when try to leave these then it again starts to pain. I avoid Milk n spicy food. I have loose my weight . Is there 100% cure for UC with homeopathy.? UC may lead to Colon cancer. How true is this?

I understand the pain, coz the last 20 yrs, i’m living with this disease.
I have been given prednisolone (Omnacortil), Mesalamine (Mesacol) and Azathiophrine (Zymurine). Omnacortil is a “deadly” steroid.
Ultimately, my body got used to these drugs, were later ineffective.
I tried homeopathic medicines but in vain.
Though Ayurvedic medicines helped extremely.
The medicines are :
Enterodys-OP, Shankvati, Haemolin tonic, Dandimvaleha tonic and the doctor has given me a mixture of herbs.
Ayurveda comes in effect after 2-3 months.
Avoid sugar and milk, all types of wheat products, rice is good, turmeric works magic. boiled potatoes are good. don’t eat spices and fried foods. Light fry boiled potatoes with powder jeera and turmeric in very little oil make gravy, eat with rice. u”ll see results in 2 months.
My symptoms have reduced considerably.

I recently suffered from UC attack(3-4 weeks)…… its pancolitis (my whole colon is affected by ulcers). I’m on mascol, wyslone steroids 25mg/day (which my doc is tapering every 5 days by 5mg) and shelcal. i’m being suggested to go for homeopathy along with this treatment ASAP along with this treatment. Is it OK? & is there 100% cure for UC with homeopathy.?
I read extreme cases of UC may lead to Colon cancer. How true is that?

i am 26years old suffering from ulcerative colitis since 2002.8 to 10 times. stool with blood and mucus/pus.very weak wt is 46 kg HB is 8.sometimes acidity.light pain in abdoman before going to stool. taken steroid and mesacol 2-3 year back. also taken ayurvedic and homeopathy treatment but no relief. if you have guarnted treatment for this disease pl guide me. in the family, we are three person, myself ,.father and my younger sister. my mother expired in 2004
If blood is coming out rarely mixed with stool then what is that ? is it IBS or ulcerative colitis. i can assure people that there is no therapy for all these G.I, problems in aelopathy. Immediately switch over to homeopathy for relief. Pls answer my query also .
I have had UC for years. I am currently having the worst flare ever (6 weeks x 15 x per day). I’m on Asacol x 12 per day and am getting ready to start Prednisone or Entocort EC. Is there a last resort homeopathic method I might try before surrendering to steroid therapy? Please help!
