Autism Treatment
Until recently Autism was something that only highly specialised neuro-development experts had heard of. Not many knew about this disease. Not even general physicians knew much about it though Kanner (an American psychiatrist) had first observed this disorder in 1943. But what is worrisome is the rate at which it is coming up.
An exhaustive article published in the Time magazine (November, 2002) mentioned a disturbing rate of 1 in every 150 children of the age of 10 having features of autism in the USA. Just a few years ago the incidence was one in ten thousand. Although no clear statistics are available for India, a sudden increase in its incidence here, too, has been very alarming.
Autism, a neurological disorder, begins in early childhood (typically during the first three years of life) and affects three crucial areas of development: verbal and nonverbal communication, social interaction, and creative or imaginative play. Other characteristics may include repetitive and ritualistic behaviour, hand-flapping, spinning or running in circles, excessive self-stimulation, self-injury, aggression, reduced sensitivity to pain, temper tantrums, and sleeping and eating disturbances. To put it simply, autism is a term used to describe children who are socially withdrawn and preoccupied with routine; who struggle to acquire spoken language yet often possess intellectual gifts that rule out the diagnosis of mental retardation.
What is happening to our children? What has gone wrong with them? What is the reason for this sudden increase in autism cases? The reasons are not clear, but the factors under scrutiny range from genetic disturbances, environmental toxins and drugs used in pregnancy to the vaccines administered for the prevention of various diseases. “Vaccine-induced autism” is under enormous scrutiny, though there is no conclusive scientific study to prove or disapprove it. But for those who believe in autism being triggered by vaccines, hypothecate that the immune (defence) response generated by the MMR vaccine (measles, mumps and rubella) damages the nerve sheaths (nerve coverings) leading to a generalised neurological disorder.
In this imbroglio, the basic questions still remain unanswered. What perturbs more is the epidemic-like spread of autism which makes one ponder the so-called advances of modern civilisation.
Autism Treatment with Homeopathy
Homeopathic treatment is extremely beneficial for those who respond to it. Many of those who do respond, the results may be so favourable that in a matter of a year or two some of the autistic kids may nearly come out of autism.
Homeopathy, however, has its limitations. It may not help all autistic cases. Even for homeopaths it is a big unanswered question, why is it so that nearly 35 per cent of children with full-blown autism benefit so much with homeopathy and why the other 65 per cent do not.
Before starting homeopathic treatment the evaluation of the child on an autism rating scale is a must. Periodical assessments are also necessary to interpret improvements.
Early treatment leads to better results. It has been observed that homeopathic intervention shows better results in very young children suffering from autism.
Homeopathic secretin is more helpful for autistic children with a leaky gut (diarrhoea). It helps in neutralising peptides in the blood. It is very effective in controlling hyperactivity.
Although homeopathic medicine carcinocin is very effective in the treatment of autism, it certainly is not a panacea. For carcinocin to be used, like any other homeopathic treatment, the child has to fall in with its constitutional picture. As autism is a spectrum disorder and cases can range from mild to severe, a prescription based on a thorough constitutional analysis is always the best option.
My only daughter is 35yrs. old and AUTISTIC.She had been provided with special training & coaching in a special school for such children since her 3yr age ( immediately after confirming her autism )At that time AUTISM was a rare unknown subject to most of the doctors. We had been to “NIMHANS”- Bangalore with my daughter and stayed there for almost a month. At that time it was the only reknowned Institute for handling such disorder.We received lot of help,suggestion and guidance for her improvement.
1. Now She can understand most of the instructions
2.Improved eye contact
3.Can do her regular activity by herself.In some cases needs help .
4.Cannot express her needs ( either by gesture or language )
5. Extraordinary memory. Can sing with proper lyrics,tune and rythm only from memory.(because she cannot read.)
6.At present She is kept engaged in a spl. school for music,and helping others in kitchen work,etc.
7.Basically idle, always waits for instructions for everything.
8. She is quiet,generally tries to obey instructions.
9. She takes time to learn, but once learned- never forgets.
10.We have tried our best, including assesing her by “American Institute of Autism”. A spl. food supplement from USA was imported and tried for about a year with no effect.

Its a baby girl.prematured baby. actual where twins but one expired in 10 days. weight of the baby at birth was 1 kg approx. My son is 5 years 9 months shows ASD he has reptetive movements moves in circles,waves his hands,likes to bang bottle on his palm and flapps his arms annd legs. sings nearly 100 bhajan and almost all sthothras correctly with correct wordings. likes loud sounds . throws tantrums when he is not comfortable. can he be treated?

I am a mother of an autistic child of 8 yrs old.He is diagnosed with mild autism,he is hyper in nature and has problems in communication and behaviour issues. I read your articles on Autism with much interest, the reason behind is the son of my dearest friend who is suffering from Autism. His age is just above 18 yrs. He is tall, thin and fair skin. He has big sharp eyes. He is very active, always try to attract the intentions of others. He feels pleasure in teasing young children and even adults. He tries to copy his elder brother who very normal and studies engineering. He tries to copy his style. He is very talkative, also talking to himself, when talking to himself he repeats words and sentences like the record has been stucked on that. Remembers days of week and events to come amazingly. He most suffers from gastric-intestinal troubles and cough that start from throat infection. Also tells headache and pain in neck. While sleeping he puts his head only in one direction.

My son Akshar now he is 4 years old, he is an autistic child.Now we are in USA. He born here.
From 1 year he is going to special speech therpy school.we saw some improvement in speech but not in behavior, he is still so hyperactive,lake of eye contact and recently he started singing some unknown music.sometimes without reason he laughs and cries.
What ever he wants he push us, if we ask what do you want then only he replies .
He knows his name,mommy,daddy and his brother.he know nearly 50 to 100 words and he knows AtoZ and 1to 30 numbers and he can tell and identify them, he almost sing all rhymes and some movie songs.
Main concernes are he is not using his voice frequently and he is confusing to use words like come instead of go like these. He is a happy boy.
He follows all directions like give me remote through this in trash like these he can do.
He has no health issues, when he was 2 months old he got some urine infection,the doctor gave some antibiotics and he recovered normal. This is his health history.

My son has been diagnosed this year with Autism. He is 9 years old this month. He is still in the first grade, he can not read. I have had him with Occupational Therapy for 2 years and Speech therapy for 1 year. I tried homeschool he did not try for me. I put him back in public school where he is at least with other kids. I have tried omega 3 and other vitamins for memory, brain function, and calming. He was first diagnosed with ” behavior ” problems. Then Attention deficit disorder and hyper activity, placed on meds which made him into a zombie– no response, lethargic, flat affect. I refused to continue the meds and the pediatrician refused to be my sons physician. I found a new pediatrician, who referred me to a neurologist, who diagnosed my son with autism, aspergers tendencies. I just want to help him live a happy healthy life. My son nearly four years old is diagnosed in the Autism spectrum disorder.He knows every things which he want. As if he want water he will give me glass and push me to gave him.if he see pepsi in shelf he will not move and crying for that unless i gave him.He has favourite shirts which he always like to wear.But still he has only few words. Sometimes it become very difficult to control him as he run away or jump again and again.But he never hurt himself. Sometimes if his brother or sister sit close to me, he even jealous.it means he has emotions. It is very difficult for him to sit for few minutes in chair even for food. Can you please suggest any advise how can I help him better to cure these symptoms.(he is reveiving speech and accopational therapies regularly)

My daughter is 20 yrs old she use to trouble me a lot but two yrs back I got her admitted in school. She is happy in school but at home she troubles me she makes various sounds and harms herself by biting her hand etc. she does not sleeps in the night . She is on medication but still of no use.
