Eczemas and Homeopathic Treatment
Eczema refers to an inflammatory condition of the skin often called as dermatitis by physicians. The word Eczema is a broad term and usually incorporates many types of inflammatory skin conditions such as atopic dermatitis and contact dermatitis. Homeopathy offers a great solution to treating and curing this disorder. Homeopathic medicines, while treating skin disorders are non suppressive in nature and do not have any side effects. The great advantage that homeopathy offers over conventional skin treatments is that its medicines give a long term solution by curing it permanently.
The most common form of eczema is atopic dermatitis. This form of eczema has a strong allergic and genetic component associated to it. Atopic Dermatitis usually starts in infancy. This starts typically by 3 months. It may start with dry inflamed look of the skin mostly on the face, neck; scalp slowly spreading to legs and arms. The bends of joints also get affected by it. Symptoms include mild to severe scratching of the areas affected. In severe cases cuts and cracks may develop on skin with oozing of fluid. If untreated, Atopic dermatitis can continue for years together. There is a very strong allergy feature associated with atopic dermatitis. All those who develop Atopic dermatitis have a strong family history of allergic conditions (like asthma, allergic rhinitis etc.) in the family. Although Most of the kids, by the age of five, show improvement; some flare-ups of atopic dermatitis may be noted even at later ages including late teens and early adulthood. Girls and kids, who have an early onset and patients with strong family history of allergies, usually have a prolonged atopic dermatitis. Nearly all patients by the age of thirty come out of it. Atopic dermatitis can get flared up by many precipitating factors. The most common are the food allergen like nuts, milk etc. other factors are dust mites, animal dander, environmental pollution and thermal and atmospheric conditions.
Contact dermatitis is a kind of eczema where rashes or inflammation on skin appears after a contact with the allergen. The most common example is that of an eczema on fingers and hands that results out of contact with washing detergents. Allergy to cosmetics is another example of contact dermatitis. The symptoms of contact dermatitis include itching in the exposed areas, redness /inflammation, lesions, rashes, cuts, cracks and even oozing. The most common allergens are detergents, jewelry, adhesives perfumes, deodourants, adhesives, cosmetics, paints etc.
It is now an accepted fact that homeopathic treatment for most of the skin disorders and skin allergies is very effective. Even for chronic skin disorders that have been there in the body for many years, can be treated with homeopathy. The big reason for the effectiveness of homeopathy in treating skin allergies can be attributed to the fact that homeopathy does not treat such problems as merely a skin disorder, but as a disturbed internal state of the immune system. My child has atopic dermatitis since last 3 years. He is also having asthma. We have got him treated by Alopathic dermatologists. But the cure was not permanent. The symptoms reappeared after stopping of medicines. Being fade up we are continuing Homeopathy since last one year, but the development is very slow. Mainly the itching problem persists. The Doctor says that this is linked with Asthma and will go slowly along with Asthma.
Please suggest whether we are in the right direction.

My son is now 9 years old and has suffered from Eczema all of his life. It is getting worse and even the strongest hydrocortison creams no longer help. Could you help us find a homeopathic doctor in Chicago?

I have just gone thru ur website and done a lot of resaerch on atopic dermatitis. Appaarently my 4 month old son has been affected with same . When he was born he had cradle cap symptoms affecting his scalp, eyebrows and behind the ears. We never realised it was a major problem due to lack of awareness on our part. This I believe started spreading as it went un-treated.
Now, about 15-20 days back he started having atopic dermatitis. This we learnt from our pediac. He was advised steroid creams and moisturisers along with oilatum emollient baths. We are not too keen on steriod creams.
We would rather prefer a homeopathic treatment. Kindly advise on the same.

Dear Doctor,
I have girl child of age 9months. She developed this dry skin, itching and red rashes on her skin from the age of 3months. We started seeing dry dark thick skin and severe itching on keens, elbows, on hands. She has got disturbed sleep in the nights and starts scratching the effected areas. We consulted a Peadiatric Dermetologist. He confirmed it as “etopic dermatitis”. He suggested the followig external medication:
1. Elocon cream for 5 days- to apply on thick dark skin like on keens, hands, etc
2. Desowen cream- to apply on face for 5 dyas.
3. Wet wrapping of the body for 1 hr twice a day.
4. Applying cetaphil moisturiser through out the boday 3-4 times a day.
After undergoing the above medication, baby became normal in 1 week. Again, it started and the same symptoms are re-appearing. Even though doctor told the same thing-it repeats till the age of teen age, I want to explore other alternate medication like homeopathy. In one of the homeopathy portals, I saw a suggestion to use “Arsenicum Alb-30”. I had given my child 4 doses of the same. Observed a slight increase after 1day. And now there is a mild improvement.
Can you pleas suggest a good medicine for this in homeopathy???

I’ve had eczema since I was 13 years old, I am now 24 years and it just keeps getting worse over the years n keeps spreading all iver my body.
I started on my breasts, its now on my back, stomach and hips.
It’s never been this bad, I’ve been to so many Dermatologist and it seems to get worse from their treatments. I am so despirate for help.
