Dengue and its Homeopathic Treatment
As I have been getting dozens of mails everyday since last week ,asking me on how homeopathy can help in dengue fever; I have decided to publish this post rather than answering every mail individually. Also I have been getting queries regarding a particular homeopathic medicine Eupatorium Perfiolatum as being preventive for dengue fever.
Should Eupatorium be used as preventive in dengue
There is no conclusive evidence of Eupatorium being a preventive medicine for dengue fever. Although the symptoms that are produced by dengue closely match this drug , no way should it be used for preventive measures. I would rather advise people to stay away from such hyped claims as this would lead many to shed off their regular guard and become more susceptible to a mosquito byte.
what’s the homeopathic treatment for Dengue
I would advise people along with homeopathic medication, to be in touch with a hospital, whenever dengue has been diagnosed. Kindly do not substitute hospital treatment with homeopathic treatment as platelet count need to be checked quite often. Here Eupatorium has a good role .The key indications for the use of Eupatorium are high fever, with very strong muscle and joint pains.30C potency can be used every hourly for the first few hours and later on the frequency be reduced to four times a day. Vomiting may also be a part of the symptomatology. If the patient starts to bleed rush him to the hospital as the platelet count may have fallen down considerably and would require .If platelet count falls below a critical level (40000/cm), it may be necessary to transfuse fresh blood or platelet rich plasma (PRP). At this stage homeopathic medicines that are very useful are lachesis , Hamemelis ,Millefolium.
For the last 5 days my youngest son is suffering from Dengue. Although now there is no fever but the platelet has come down from 80000 to 28000 now in the last 3 days. First it was 80000 and the next day it came down to 46000 then it came to 39000 then it came to 32000 and now it is 28000. Kindly let me know whether the Euphatorium Perfoliatum increases the platelet in blood or not. Also please let me know if there is any other Homoeopathy medicine for increasing platelet immediately. My wife mrs parul mishra age approx 30 years was diagnosed with Dengue.
She had been admitted to a hospital when blood was also transfused as that time platelets count was 22,000.
After 5-7 days she was discharged that time she had 4.38, Lacs platelets count.
Now she is having fever, pain since last three years.
Blood test report shows platelets 87,000 only.
What medicines should be given to maintain the platelets at least keeping everything in mind.

I have been a regular reader of your postings for treatment of various illnesses and homeopathy has always been my first preference for all illnesses.
I have a question today relating to anxiety – basis the details available on your website, I had taken Aconite and found it to be effective, however I request your help on the following two points:
1. I had taken the dosage of 7 drops of (30 potency) in a spoonful of water twice in a week, however I am not sure whether this is the standard and correct dosage? Also I would like to know what should be the frequency at which this medicine is to be taken.
2. After taking this medicine I had felt numbness in the right foot below the ankle area, I am not sure whether this is due to this medicine or otherwise as I never had this problem before.

I 100% agree with Dr.Vikas Sharma.There is no concept of prophylactics in classical homeopathy.All is dependent on the existing symptoms of the patient.Due to ignorance of even the so called homeopaths Lahore has run short of CROTALUS HORRIDUS,which someone suggested through cell phone messages as preventive for DENGUE FEVER.I don’t know what Crotalus will do to these poor fellows later in their lives.
Can we use PSORINUM 1M as prevention from Dengue Fever and if so for how long.

combination of remedies in potency against the principle of homoeopathy. because remedies may cause antidote or drugproving,homoeopathic principle says law of similia ,law of simplex ,minimum dose. selection of remedies in holiastic approach .potensy selection depend upon succeptiblity of patient this is my opienion.
The formula is as follows:
RHUS TOX./ EUPATORIUM PERF./ CHINA OFF./ LEDUM PALUSTRE/ GELSEMIUM/ 5CH/ aã.
Just take this formula to a homeopathic pharmacy and they will know what to do. The formula can be made in globules (sacarose), tablets (lactose), or drops (alcohol at 30%) at ANY HOMEOPATHIC PHARMACY. Include next to the components of the above formula your choice of:
Take 3 globules or tablets or drops ONCE A DAY while the epidemic season lasts. This formula can be taken by adults as well as children of any age, except that children should not use the alcohol-based drops. The globules or tablets should be slowly dissolved in the mouth.
In cases of dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) or even suspicion of DHF (that is, platelets below 150,000), particularly in the case of children, ADD THE FOLLOWING two medicines to the above treatment:
PHOSPHORUS, 12 CH, 4 globules or tablets or drops taken in the morning; and
CROTALUS, 12 CH, 4 globules or tablets or drops taken in the evening, until the platelets return to normal (150,000). DON’T STOP TAKING THE OTHER FORMULA. ACT QUICKLY.

Though my observations are general for most ailments & diseases , I was referring the the Dengue viral fever more specifically. would be too glad to know more about preventive & curative aspects of dengue through Homeopath treatment.
