Having bald patches on one?s head, beard and eyebrows can be very distressing. Although alopecia areata does not affect the patient health in any other form, it is certainly life-altering and its sudden onset, recurrent episodes and unpredictable course have a great impact on the psyche of those suffering from it. Homoeopathic treatment of it is fairly successful as it quickly helps the hair in growing back fast.
Alopecia areata is the loss of hair in circular or oval patches from the scalp or elsewhere such as eyebrows, beard, etc. The bald patches are usually of the size of a five-rupee coin or one-rupee coin. Complete loss of hair may also occur in some individuals although it is not very common.
Alopecia areata is a fairly common skin disorder and about 1 per cent of the population is affected at any given time. Unlike other kinds of hair loss, alopecia areata is a reversible hair loss as the follicles (structure that encloses the root of the hair) of hair are not damaged. Alopecia areata does not affect the patient health in any other way. Few people complain of itching when hair starts falling. There is no physical discomfort associated with it. Though not very certain, it is assumed that your body?s own defence system attacks the hair follicle. The defence system attacks the cells of the follicle as a case of mistaken identity. These cells resemble a protein which our defence system is programmed to destroy. Pigment cells and the sweat gland around it get destroyed but the follicle protects itself by moving into the higher layers of the skin and sheds off the hair shaft. The follicle then remains dormant there.
Although not very strong, the genetic factor is also associated with alopecia areata. This means that some children whose parents have had alopecia areata or are suffering from it may have a predisposition towards developing the disease later in life.
As the hair follicle is not destroyed, the chances of hair growing back is always there. The true and exact nature of an untreated case is very difficult to predict. Some hair experts believe that there are certain conditions where the prognosis is not good.
Although there has not been found a direct link between stress and alopecia, its involvement cannot be totally ruled out. Stress is known to aggravate immune (defence) system-related disorders and also a variety of skin conditions, including urticaria, psoriasis and hyperhidrosis.
Homoeopathic treatment is very effective in dealing with alopecia areata. Researches shown that homoeopathic medicines affect our body by optimising our immune system. Thus, homoeopathy can provide an effective solution to this problem.
Moreover, once it is treated with homoeopathy the chances of the problem occurring again are also highly reduced. in 2014 january hair loss starts from my beard area(bottom side of right cheek)
in May i noticed clearly small area gets bigger. i started clean shaving.
middle of june i lost small portion from my moustache.And small area from bottom
of cheek too.This hair loss area is like normal skin.
I am 31 year old(178 cm,70 kg). I exercise daily minimum 20 to 30 minutes(weekly 4 days).
I am a non drinker and non smoker.
I have allergy problems with artificial plastics and dust during early 20’s.

My name is Pravin. I am 38 years, Male. I am having a bald patch at back side of my head. The patch is of around 1 inch by 1 inch. The patch is smooth, and absolutely no hair.
There are no other patches. I went for Allopathy. I see some treatment for some days, and then again its back to clean patch with no hair.
There is no family history of the patches.
I have no other health complaints, absolutely fit and fine.

Hi, i dnt know where to start, bt im suffering frm hair fall 4 the past 10 yrs, i m consulting dr batra 4 d last 4 years bt to no avail. My dandruff condition is oily, n whn it itches then the skin becomes oily n it like flakes of skin comes out which luk like clay, my entire body is also infected by dandruf and im lil worried as where shud i go to get this problm erased. Doctor i was suffering from alopecia areata almost three years. I went to Skin Specialist many many times . The doctor gave medicine and some ointment to apply in the scalp. Some area my hair grows again while some part the doctor had to give me injection ti get my hair back . The result for sometimes is good. But again it start to fall again so now there are big patches on my head. Sometime i feel it itching near the circular area . Before I started experimenting with artificial hairstyles, in 1993 , my hair was always very thick, and healthy. Shoulder length, healthy and shiny, would grow and I kept it cut. In wearing tracks (artificial store bought hair) at first they were sown in; then I started getting them glued in. Then one day, few years later, I felt extreme itching in my scalp and during a shampooing of the hair, my hair plop out in chunks and every since the thinning has increased and no appreciable growth. In the summer time, whats left of my hair looks healthy and thin hair fill the bald spots, but no thicking or covering of the scalp.
