The knee joint is quite vulnerable to injuries. A knee injury can arise from a fall, overuse, a misstep, a sudden twist, etc. Athletes who play sports like soccer, football, and basketball are at risk of knee injuries. The knee joint is made up of four main components, i.e. bones (three bones, including femur, tibia, and patella participate here), C-shaped tough, rubbery cartilage (medial and lateral menisci that act as shock absorbers between femur and tibia), ligaments (collateral and cruciate ligaments that join bones together), and tendons (that connect muscles to the bones). An injury can occur to any of these components.
Homeopathy carries an excellent scope to manage cases of knee injuries. Knee injuries of various kinds can be treated with homeopathy. Homeopathic medicines for knee injuries help reduce the pain and swelling of the knee in case of injury and promote efficient healing. Homeopathy is recommended for treating minor knee injuries having mild to moderate intensity. But in cases of major and severe injuries like extended ligament tears, these medicines have a limited role to play. In such cases, these medicines can be used in conjunction with conventional help for symptomatic relief.
There are many highly effective homeopathic medicines to manage injuries related to tendons, ligaments, muscles, bones, and joints. These medicines are recommended for both acute (recent) and older cases of knee injuries. Homeopathy proves effective in both types of cases. The results vary from case to case as per the type of injury. Homeopathic medicines, along with symptom relief, also aid healing at the injured site.
Homeopathic medicines promote natural healing in cases of knee injuries. These medicines tend to boost the body’s natural healing mechanism. Once the self-restorative forces in the body are boosted, self-healing in the injured area begins, and gradually self-recovery happens along with symptomatic relief. To what extent homeopathy can help varies from case to case as per the nature and severity of the injury. One should follow a homeopathic doctor’s advice regarding proper homeopathic prescription in cases of knee injuries. To get the best results, a complete course of treatment for the time duration as guided by your physician needs to be followed.
It is a well-known fact that homeopathy is a natural healing science. It uses herbal medicines to treat health problems, including injuries. This makes them very safe to use with zero side effects. They never cause any harmful reaction.

Some common types of knee injuries
The injuries that are common to the knee include – fracture, ligament tear, dislocation, meniscal tear, tendon tear, sprains and patellar tendonitis.
Fracture – It refers to break in the bone either partial or complete. In case of the knee, it mainly affects the patella also called kneecap. It usually happens from a fall or an accident.
Ligament injuries – First among these is anterior cruciate ligament injury. This ligament is present in front of the knee. Its injuries commonly result from sports activities like playing football and soccer. Second is the posterior ligament injury. This ligament is present at the back of the knee. This ligament is usually injured from a high impact on front of the knee when knee gets bent as from a hard fall on bent knee or road accident, or injury while playing a certain sport. The third ligament injury is collateral ligament injury. These ligaments are located on the sides of the knee. This ligament usually gets injured from some hard impact on the sides of the knees.
Dislocation – Dislocation of knee results when the bones of the knee are partially or completely forced out of their place. This may occur from falling, motor vehicle accidents, or sports injuries.
Meniscal tear – Meniscus tear may occur suddenly from sports injuries or it may occur gradually as a part of ageing or arthritis.
Tendon tear – The tendon tear mainly affects quadriceps and patellar tendons when it comes to knee tendon tear. This may occur from a fall or an impact from being hit by something or in professional players.
Knee Sprain – It results from overstretching of one or more ligaments of the knee. This may occur from falling on the knee or being hit on the knee by something heavy.
Patellar tendonitis – This refers to injury to the tendon that joins the kneecap to the shinbone (tibia). This injury is also called jumper’s knee.
Dear Dr. Sharma,
My daughter (17.5 years old) has had knee problems for 4 years now. She has no former injuries or rhumatoid arthritis. Exercise, squatting, walking long, walking up and down steps give her pains so she must sit down or lie down but when she starts walking again it is terrbible but with time pain is not so bad. Her patellas seem to be in the wrong position because the muscles and the tendons are kind of shortened. her hips keep cracking and from hips down she has tingling, numb ,stiff and tearingfeeling. With kinesiotape on, her patellas are in the right place and has much less pain. Her diagnosis after MR examination is chondromalatia and plica synovialis. Please suggest treatment. Thank you very much, Lilla

Dear sir,
I got injury in my right knee due to accident my right leg was twisted when my bike was skided .MRI report is injury and damage of ligament of inner side knee ,and fracture in inner side of knee .please tell me can it be recover by homeopathic treatment
Dear Dr. Sharma,
My son had 2 injuries 2 the same knee on his mcl. The first was stated that it was a minimally impacted osteochondral fracture peripheral porting of the medial femoral epiphysis. Partial avulsion of superficaial fibers mcl and perichondrium from the medical femoral epiphysis. Impaction injury anterior aspect lateral tibia w/o depression. Salter-Harris type injury lateral femoral epiphysis w/o displacement. Doctor told that it was bad briuse to continue PT and when they feel your ready you can go back on the bb court. Of course he got better but didn’t wear a brace and 2 months later go a hit in the same spot. MrI states the following redemostrated avulsion fracture at the MCL origin involving the medial femoral condyle/epicondyle witht he fracture measuring 25x15x4mm. There is a fracture diplacement of approximately 2 mm. There is an adjacent bone and soft tissue edema and scarring on the proximal MCL as weel as a probable MCL sprain. Feels the fracture has not fused or helaed compared to latst MRI due to chronic residual stress at the MCL entheiss or new injurty. Interval resolution of the lateral compartment bone bruising Normal cruciate ligaments, menisci, and knee articular cartilage and moderate effusion or hemarthrosis. So from 2nd MRI 1st pediatric doctor says we need to do surgery to staple the displacement together so it doesn’t occur again. Additionally went to my orthopedic and he states he is asytematic and it should heal on its own. Let him play with a brace and continue PT and it will heal on it’s own. Don’t want to do surgery, going with my doctor but feel that some type of homeopathic medicine can help him heal faster. Please let me know your thoughts. Thank you.
My nephew 24 injured his knee ligament while playing football. I have put him on Arnica 200 and Ruta 200 each in a half glass of water 3 times a day. Please advice

Hello,
Our 20 year old daughter blew out her ACL playing competitive soccer this week. Had an MRI and is need of surgery.
I have her taking Arnica, Hypericum, Ruta, Rhus, Bryonia, staphysagria and symphytum.
Question is should she take ALL that and if so does it have to be 15 min between each one and not around food or drink?
Any insight is appreciated. Also how often each day?
We are devastated.
Sincerely,
Kerri Hartley

Hello, my name is Rene. My daughter is an avid volleyball player she plays for both the school and travel. Eight months out of the year she’s playing. Six actual games two additional months just practice. She is the Libero, defense specialist meaning she does the diving and digging and passing the ball so she’s hitting her knee quite often. We have tried knee braces icing it but it remains swollen and painful for her. I’ve given her Arnica I truly don’t believe I get it often enough But I do know that there are a few others that I might possibly need to give her what would your recommendation be? I’ve grown up taking and using homeopathic remedies my mother was very active with that. I know how they work and that they work so I would really like to take this route before any other. Thank you
