Nasal turbinates also called the nasal conchae are small sausage shaped structures located within the nose which are made up of bone and covered with soft tissue called mucosa. They are three in number on either side. They are named as superior, middle and inferior turbinates. They warm, humidify the air that flows from nostrils to the lungs and also filter particles like dust from this air that we breathe in. When these nasal turbinates swell, enlarge and cause hindrance to air flow and breathing then it is referred to as turbinate hypertrophy. The turbinates, mainly the middle and inferior one mostly tend to get enlarged and block airflow. Causes

Hello! I am having intermittent swelling or enlarging of my nasal turbinates at night which keeps me awake much of the night. I also got a CT scan and the doctor says I have a mass in my sphenoid sinus. They think it could be a cyst or it could be a fungal ball. I want to know if there’s any way to treat this homeopathically. Is it possible to reduce my turbinates size and shrink the mass in my sphenoid? I’m desperate for help and to avoid surgery. For more than 15 years I have been feeling secretions stuck in my throat. A year ago, I had a CT scan and it turned out that I have deviated septum and turbinate hypertrophy. Septoplasty and laser operation for the turbinate were performed. But nothing worked. I do not suffer from breathing problems. Only thick secretions in the throat and bad breath . I had the laser surgery again, and it never got better.

Hello Dr, I have had perfect nasal for 50 years and small seasonal allergies that I treated with and an antihistamine only a few days.
Last year buy accident I took pseudoephedrine 240 mg a day as the pharmacist told me it was the same antihistamine. It was not. It’s a nasal decongestant and it turned my clear liquid mucus to cement and also inflamed all my nasal and sinus. I have this for a year the mucus is better but the inflammation remains.
