These risk factors include – being overweight, being above 50 years of age, an increased pressure in the abdomen (as during pregnancy, from coughing, lifting heavy weights or violent vomiting).

1. Robinia and Natrum Phos – For Heartburn and Very Sour Belching
Robinia and Natrum Phos are great medicines for hiatus hernia when there is highly acrid and sour belching. The symptoms that indicate the use of medicine Robinia are – intensely sour belching or vomiting, heartburn, regurgitation of acidic substances, and acidity that gets worse when lying down at night. The most characteristic feature to use Abies Nigra is a sensation of a lump or something hard lodged in the esophagus or cardiac end of the stomach. There is a feeling as if food is lying in the epigastrium. Waterbrash with a choked feeling in the throat is also present. Stomach pain after eating may also be felt. In some cases, a constricted sensation above the pit of the stomach can also occur.
4. Lycopodium, Pulsatilla and Nux Vomica – For Management of Hiatus Hernia Symptomatically

Lycopodium offers help when the dyspepsia and heartburn worsens after eating food with starch like cabbage and beans. I am 66 years old,since 5 years ie from 2014,I have been suffering from Hiatus Hernia, Esophagitis LAC. ,and no medicine has worked better in this case for me so far.I feel discomfort in the chest and throat.And burning sensation in throat and chest. through out the day. I’m Vinay and I’m 36 years old. Since 12 years i.e. from 2007, I have been suffering from small Hiatus Hernia and GERD problem and no medicine has worked better in this case for me so far. I underwent a Gastroscopy showing impression LAX LES . Esophagus: The Les was LAX. OG Junction:38cms. All other Stomach and Duodenum parts are normal. There is highly acrid and sour belching when I turn left at the time of sleeping at night and when sleep doesn’t come at all though I take different allopathic antacids. My stomach is full of gas and acid almost all the day and night. The stool comes out in very little quantity and sometimes for 2days no motion and after 2days motion comes in semisolid, muddy and liquid state with tremendous bad scent. Whatever I take in the evening and night gas and acid are formed, I feel, and sweat comes sometimes. At night whatever I take the scent of the same food, specially fried, comes with the belching. I lost almost all the teeth prohibiting me to chew. I feel lack of breathing , headache,pain over chest,lung, backwhen acid and gas are formed.
