Attention Deficit Hyperactive disorder ADHD
It is estimated that about 3-5 percent of all kids, have this disorder. Also the most unfortunate thing is that in many cases this disorder goes totally undiagnosed .The child is often mistaken as hyper-energetic kid or as just being more playful, but the reality is that many such kids suffer from a medical disorder known as Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder or ADHD.
It is a common belief that only kids showing signs of physical hyperactivity have some problem related to this disorder. Well, this actually it is not the complete truth. Symptoms of consistent inattentiveness are also associated with this disorder. It is characterized by hyperactivity (physical), inattentiveness, and impulsivity

Kids having ADHD usually depict either of three patterns of behavior. Either they are more of the hyperactive type, which means that they are more physically hyperactive (constantly moving jumping running fidgeting squirming, having difficulty sitting in one place etc) or the ‘inattentive type’ (having difficulty in concentrating, easily distracted) or the ‘combined type’ (having symptoms of hyperactivity and inattention both).
Not all children who run and jump too much suffer from ADHD. It is very important to realize that for a child to be diagnosed with ADHD, certain criterion has to be met with also called as the DSM criteria, before a child can be said to be suffering from it.
Nobody exactly knows what causes ADHD. Recent researches point out the causes could be either neurobiological or genetical. Certain chemical levels in the brain have been found low (dopamine -a chemical that sends messages to the part of the brain involved in attention, movement and motivation). Increased levels of heavy metals (lead) in the body is also seen in some kids .The kind of parenting given to the child has no role in the causation of this disorder, although bad parenting can influence the severity of this disorder.
Implication of ADHD can have far reaching effects, with the schooling of the child taking the biggest hit. Poor performance in school due to ADHD can lead to a hampered self esteem in the child .ADHD can also lead to learning disabilities, defiant behavior ,conduct disorder(anti-social behaviour,stealing ,fighting), anxiety disorders and depression .
Severe forms of ADHD are difficult to differentiate from milder forms of autism, a careful approach is necessary in diagnosing and treating such forms. Such severe forms affect the child?s normal mental development .for example speech and cognitive skills can be markedly affected in such cases.

Careless mistakes, difficulty in organizing tasks or activities
Not able to follow instructions and fails to follow school or home work.
My son and daughter are very playful and forgetful,my son shouts a lot and always having trouble with his friends,he likes crying when u do against his will.
Does he have a problem.
My grandson was diagnosed with ADHD. I am not sure how to help him, he has a hard time in school with a lot of the issues that were posted on this web site. I do not want him on medicine we are looking for alternatives to this.

I was wondering if I could please get some advice because I am literally at my wits end and I am about to lose it. I need any kind of help i can get at this point. My son just turned 5 a few weeks ago and I’ve noticed his behavior for sometime now and he is overly hyper and I just thought it was something he would grow out of but it has gotten worse I mean way way worse he is not just hyper but aggressive and doesn’t listen when spoken to directly or when you correct him he will tell you your wrong he knows what he is talking about or when you say something he will try to correct you. He has no recourse for things that he does to get into trouble he has very difficult time focusing I had him in preschool for a year and then another half of year but the teacher had said all of the same things as I also we recently moved so I had r o take him out of school and I’m currently home schooling him and it’s like he plays games with me and I know he knows the answer to what I’m asking and he will intentionally tell me the wrong answer and try to get attention he always interrupts others when they are talking no matter how many times you too him no he still does it anyway. My fiance has tried to get me to take him to doctors but when I was young I has similar problems I wouldn’t say they were as bad as his but never was taken to doctor due to the fact tha ty grandmother dis not won’t me codependent my entire life on medication I had seen it the same but now I am older and still suffer with symptoms and take medication but I feel like 5 is to young for medication maybe I’m wrong can you please help me though with advice on what to do ? I’m desperate… thank you for your time!

My three years old son is having problem with speech he doesn’t say anything for me to understand but talk excessively, he doesn’t sleep, easily distracted, always moving from one place to another, he doesn’t play with with other kids, he is having every symptoms of ADHD. My vhild Aryan singh has taken already uour medicines before 2-3 yrs but there is no improvement at all. Infact his symtomes are increasing infact last yr wehave to change his school as his academic is totally went down he is getting zero in all subjects. He is having all symtoms of ADHD . He is 17 yrs old now. Even in new school principal said he needs therapy. Heis not sitting in the vlass and not listening anything and fistracting whole the class. My daughter is 6 years old… she could not speak… can utter only few words, understand few things what we say to her….. he says things but not in normal understandile language….but can do few things like cleaning house, acting like a teacher etc very effectively.
