Menopause- the wonder of Sepia

353990929_46bae315fb_mEVERY woman has a different experience of menopause. Most of the women experience certain symptoms. Some hardly notice any change while others experience moderate hot flushes and depression. A few have more intense symptoms.

The common menopausal symptoms are: hot flushes, sleep disturbances, depression, anxiety, loss of libido (sexual desire), headaches, backaches, fuzzy thinking, vaginal dryness, mood swings and irritability.

Although there are many homeopathic remedies to consider, Sepia tops them all with distinct indications that are so commonly associated with menopause. For women requiring Sepia, a change in the temperament requires a special mention. From being calm and gentle before menopause, she becomes very irritable and is not able to show affection towards family members. The feeling of sadness, with no desire to meet friends and no interest in daily activities, makes her feel worse.

She feels easily tired. Flushes of heat (sensation of heat) in various parts of the body, which may be also associated with excessive perspiration, are common. She has an aversion to sex, and may experience a dragging or bearing down sensation in the uterus, feeling as if she has to cross her legs to hold it in. Menstrual flooding is possible, as is scant and irregular bleeding. Hot flushes and sweating are usual.

Backaches are often part of the symptom pattern. Sepia can work wonders. Sepia 200 c, two doses every week for a period of one month, makes this transition through menopause a comfortable one and brings back the vivacious woman in her.

  10. Dear Dr Sharma

I was diagnosed with grade 3 triple positive breast cancer, node negative, in April 2014 I have undergone breast concerving surgery, chemo and radiotherapy. I am currently having Herceptin 3 weekly and Anastrozole daily.

Fatigue is a huge problem, hot flashes and night sweats add to the problem. I have heard that Sepia may help but am unsure of what dosage to take. I am waiting to be referred to our local Homeopathic Hospital, but as I am in the UK, an NHS referral may take months.

Would you be able to recommend a dosage?

    Regards

    Sue

  15. Good afternoon, i find myself desperate to the point of gaining courage and writing you today. I’ve been looking for a homeopath for quite some time, but unfortunatly i can’t seem to find a reliable one in my zone. I’m in a terrible but apparantly common situation. I am 59 years old ( woman), and i’ve been experiencing absolutly unbearable hot flushes since i was 48 (menopause), my doctor prescribed me hormonal treatment, but after 6 years she told me i had to stop. During those 6 years the hot flushes never really left me, but they were somehow softer. When i stoped taking the medicine though, it all got worse really fast. I feel as if i’m being cooked from the inside, the hot flashes come unexpectedly at any time night or day, i feel the wave forming on my belly area, and then it is released for the rest of my body, specially the upper part, my face and neck become burning red, my skin burns i can’t stand tight clothes specially around my neck, during those episodes i have to take off my shoes and socks, my body gets all sweaty and after it gets realy chilly……… this happens several times a day (day or night), i wake up several times a night, i cannot remember the last time i actually had a good night’s sleep, there are days i get up completly exausted. Closed places make it worse. It can easily become a truly embarrassing situation. CAN YOU PLEASEEEEE HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!! I’ve been reading a lot about homeopathic remedies for my case and i came across some substances that seem to fit my case (Amyl Nitosum, Belladonna, Calcarea Carbonica, Lycopodium, Lachesis, Iodium, Sulpher) Could you please advise me on which one is the most appropriate. Thank you so so so so soooooooo much for your time.

Ps: I have in fact tried Lachesis 200C once every 7 days, I took two doses with no improvements whatsoever, during the time i took the lachesis ( it is today day 3 of the 2sd dose) i have experienced that my rosacea got worse, my face hasn’t been this red ever since i started treating rosacea with topic metronidazol years ago.

    Thank you so so much.

    Hello Dr. Sharma,

I have 63 yrs. life experience. Due to having been a Yoga teacher for 20 years, I’m in good condition except for low thyroid (life long) and prolapsing uterus with 1/2″ protrusion, which comes and goes throughout the day.

My diet is 100% pure and natural. I cook many Indian dishes at home because of the wonderful healing spices.

I noticed my uterus dropping at the onset of menopause. I still ovulate every month, and have been missing menstrual cycles on and off for years.

I’ve done my own research, and have discovered Sepia 100C to be taken in 3 pellets 3X day.

Would you agree with these directions for my specific conditions?

    Thanks and Blessings!
    Elisha

Hi, I’m at 57 y old female and have urogenital atrophy. Will Sepia help me with this. I am not on HRT and I need some sort of replacement. My Dr. said there is nothing they can give me other than hormone creams, and oral. The medical field has medications for erectial dysfuntion for men testosterone replacement and nothing for women with this problem who either can’t or would rather not take hormones, it’s awful and there have been clinical studies done with positive results and nothings been done. Your help is much needed. Thanks in advance Terri

  18. Hi, dr. Sharma.
I’ m 48 y women. One year ago was diagnosed estrogen positive breast cancer. I am done with my surgery ( lumpectomy), radiation and chemo. Now I am taking tamoxifen and have terrible hot flashes. My friend told me that sepia can help. She takes it for menopause symptoms and it works. But I am not sure if it is good for me ( worry about estrogen).
I would be very grateful if you could help me.
    Thank you. Tamara

  19. I am 46 yrs. old, 5′ tall and 105 lbs. with a history of fibroids & cysts. I was a gymnast so I didn’t begin menses until I was 17, and I was never regular. Typical cycle was 6-7 weeks. I had a hysterectomy 10years ago due to a massive fibroid (over 2 lbs). I did take birth control pills for 2 years thinking they were “safe.” Periods were irregular before and after takingbthe pill.
I have 2 grown children ages 22 and 20. Since the children came along, my sex drive has decreased over the years to nothing. I have done a ton of reading and am considering taking sepia but wasn’t sure the concentration or the dosage.

  28. Hello Dr Sharma,

I had breast cancer in 2010, lumpectomy was done, followed by chymo and radiation. Now I am on arimidex 1 mg. I get very strong hot flashes, my oncologist tried many meds but nothing worked. My daughter told me that her friends’s mom had breast cancer and now she’s using Sepia and she felt better but the question is, how can I make sure it’s good for me? I am experiencing herniated disc leading to sciatica in my right leg and ulnar nerve damage in my left hand. therefore, Iam taking Gabapentin, Celebrex, Bacloven, for pain killer I take oxycodone 1 every 6 hours. So with all thoses meds can I still take the Sepia ? if yes, what is the dosage required?
Btw, I am 54 years old
Thx for your patience and your help, have a wonderful and healty life
