Migraine headaches are associated with very severe pain in the head This head ache occurs in an unpredictable repetitive pattern. The severity of pain and the unpredictability associated with them can make life very miserable and disabling. Migraines are much more common in women and are more common between the ages of 10 and 46.
It has a strong inheritance link associated with it and seems to run in families.
Migraine headaches are characterized by severe throbbing, pulsating and pounding pain which tends to affect one side of the head more (although in some cases complete head can be involved). The head pain can last from few hours to 72 hours. Migraines may be associated with some symptoms that occur even before the pain starts. These symptoms are called as ?migraine aura? and are characterized by visual disturbances, seeing zigzag lines, blind spots and having tunnel vision The pain may also be associated with – vomiting and nausea; sensitivity to light and sound, fatigue, numbness and tingling.
Although the exact cause of migraine is not clearly understood till date, however the pain thought to be linked with the drop of level of serotonin (chemical in the brain) leading to the dilatation and inflammation of blood vessels.
Trigger factors or the factors that start of an attack, vary from an individual to individual. The most common triggers are physical and emotional stress, sleep disturbances, hunger or skipping or delaying meals, taking too much alcohol or coffee and tea, loud noises and bright lights, menstrual cycles. Food substances are another major trigger factor, they include foods containing MSG (monosodium glutamate this is a taste additive that is often found in Chinese food preparation), pickles, fermented foods, nuts, chocolate, and red wine and dairy products.
A question which is quite often asked is that whether Homeopathy can cure these headaches effectively. The answer is Yes it can, but one has to realize that migraine is a chronic disorder and requires time for it to get completely eradicated from the body. A lot of patience is required while treating such chronic disorder both from the patient and the physician. Even when the medicine is properly selected and working in the right direction, the headaches are not going to disappear in one go. Initially one will see a reduction in the severity and the frequency of the headaches. This gradually over a period of time would lead to the complete cure.

Belladonna is one of the leading homoeo-medicine for treating migraine it is indicated when the headaches start from the back of the head and settle over the eye. The right side is the more affected and the pain is of throbbing and pounding type which gets worse from light , noise and even slight jerk or movement. Sanguinaria is useful for headaches that are generally right sided and are associated with exposure to sun. It is also suited when the head pain is relieved by lying down and by sleep. Iris is most indicated when there is great deal of nausea and vomiting associated with headaches. I have in my experience found Epiphegus to be a great remedy for migraine in Women and is indicated when the symptoms are aggravated by least physical and mental exertion. Mental and physical exhaustion also trigger an attack. Activities like going shopping etc, going out in the sun etc easily start off an attack.

I have migrain pain more than 10 years . My age is 40 years . I am a patient of migraine from last 9 years.
I tried many Migraine specialist as well as neuro sergions during this time period.
When I was trying pills from Allopathy from last 2 years and till that time i have not passed through severe pain but when i stopped taking pills then again the same issue starts.
Description:
I am getting the periodic severe headache every after 15-20 days without any excessive work and traveling. Initially during migraine period starts, the acidity level in the body increases and vomiting starts.
But later i took some homeopathy medicines for 6 months and my acidity level gone completely during migraine.
Please give me the recommendations of permanent solution of migraine.
I visit near about every famous Allopathy and Homeopathy Doctors but have not got the complete relief.

My friend is having a problem of headache which is generally cause because of below reasons:
1. When she take some tensions.
2. When roam in sun light
3. Because of dust.
Generally she sleeps at 12 o’clock in night because she is having an office hour from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. She comes back home by 10 o’clock. She use to cook food after coming home at sleeps at 12 o’clock in night. She used to wake up around 6:30 a.m in the morning.
Her eating habit is very casual as she don’t like to eat outside food. And genarally there is long gap after she have lunch but in between she used to drink milk.
Could you please suggest any cure or medication. If you wanted to know more about the problem then please do write to me.

I get migraine headaches quite frequently now a days. In the past there were warning signs like nausea , irritability etc but of late they are very sudden attacks.
Left side of my temple has a throbbing pain which travels from behind my ear to the base of my head joining my spinal cord. The left side of my face is constantly swollen , more when I suffer migraine pains .

My daughter is suffering of Migraine headaches since she started studying for her A/L.. She is doing the London paper. She gets up at 4 a.m. and studies. Then she goes to school and when she comes back home, she has her afternoon meal and rests for a while. Then she goes back to her studies till late in the night. She does not eat her food that well as she has lost her appetite. Now she is complaining of headaches. She has constant headaches, that are sensitive to light, (sun), she also frowns. First we thought it was her eyes. We took her to the Opthalmologist , but he said that her eyes are O.K . She is having Migraine. I gave my daughter Bryonia three times a day for 4 days, and she has improved very much. Do you think I should continue this remedy for at least another week? Please advise me.
