Chronic sinusitis is a condition in which the sinuses inside our skull become inflamed for months and years together. This condition can considerably reduce ones quality of life. Patients suffering from chronic Sinusitis complain of difficulty in breathing from nose, headaches, pain and tenderness in the face.
Yellow greenish discharges may also be present from the nose and also from the back of the throat. The main symptoms of chronic sinusitis are pain in the face and pressure in the areas of forehead, temples, cheeks, and nose and behind the eyes, discharge of a thick yellow or greenish discharge from the nose or down the back of the throat, obstructed and difficult breathing through the nose, diminished sense of smell or taste, frequent Headache (especially in morning), Teeth pain, Fatigue, Cough, and Sore throat.
As homeopathy is a symptom based system of medicine, the prescription is based upon the symptoms presented by the patient. Many symptomatic factors determine the choice of remedy .i.e. the type of discharges from the nose and throat, the sinus that is involved and other factors like the time of the year when this problem increases also its relation to weather. The main homeopathic medicines used for treating chronic sinusitis are Hydrastis, kali bichrome, Silicea and Merc Sol. Luffa Opercula requires a special mention for treating allergies and sinusitis both. Lemna Minor works well in cases where the sinusitis is complicated by nasal polyps.
At times the treatment of underlying allergy may also require a totally different set of medicines. Prescription based on the detailed study of the patient’s physical and mental makeup (which is also called as constitutional prescribing) is at times required to cure the allergy from the base.

My husband has had chronic sinusitis for 2yrs. His sense of smell and taste comes and goes, mostly gone. He has had ct scann MRI and has seen several specialists. He’s been on antibiotics which works sometimes but when the rx is gone symtoms come back. Prednisone also works but you can’t be on it for long. He sounds stuffy, eyes are red and runny more in the am.

I have been suffering from chronic sinusitis my entire life. I have been tested & it was found I’m allergic to dust and spores & have a slight allergy to wheat, which I’ve completely cut out of my diet for 15 years! I have been using a neti pot for over 10 years, every day, sometimes twice a day.
Unfortunately I still frequently experience sinus attacks where I get a horrific pressure in my eye sockets; I always feel it in the space between your top eyelid and eyebrow more in the corner of my eye(by the nose) to the middle of eye socket. The pain lasts for days sometimes weeks at a time! I’m experiencing it now since 2 days ago. I’ve tried homeopathic “pills” which have not helped; I become so desperate I wind up taking advil cold/sinus pills which sometimes helps, sometimes not….or sometimes it helps for a few hours & then the pain returns.
The triggers I have noticed that bring the attacks on are:when the weather goes from cold to hotter(for example if it’s 20 degrees one day & then the next day it’s 40 degrees), alcohol (which I have cut out of my diet)cigar smoke, chemical cleaners and sulfites. I still drink red wine but always try to buy organic wine. I have noticed certain Spanish red wines even if not organic do not cause me any pain. Sometimes the pain just occurs from none of these triggers!
Every day my nose is usually stuffed & I’m always blowing my nose…it drips like a leaky faucet. In 1995 I had nasal surgery where the dr supposedly “increased my nasal passages” but it didn’t help at all! I definitely do NOT have polyps as I was tested for it. ENT doctors would say “you have bacteria” & try to get me to take an antibiotic not understanding the bacteria is there every day of my life….I have refused the antibiotics as this is a life long problem & not a quick fix!
I live in a smoke-free apt in Manhattan and have no rugs or pets! For the past week I had bronchitis but it is finally clearing up, no more green phlegm, just a dry cough….the dr said the sinus attack was unrelated to the bronchitis! I’m in so much pain now; it makes me tired & often makes me nauseous. A hot compress helps but I can’t apply that while I’m working. Is there any help for me?

From last three years getting this problem and with time its increasing.
Problem:
Swelling on face, thick fluid discharge from back of nose into throat, smelling fluid from nose, low memory, nose close, feeling of head and face full of fluid like movement, less thinking power, mind not balance.
Reason: increase with cold water, juice, ac, cold air directly on face.
From last two years only warm water no juice no normal water, no ice cream.
Steam helps a lot. Taking medicine from last two years but no permanent relief. Lycopodium 30c helps alot in metal balance, stability of brain.
Pls help me I will be very thank full to you.
