Tonsillitis and Homeopathic Treatment

Tonsillitis or inflammation of the tonsils is a painful condition of throat, and in its chronic form it can become a source of recurring episodes of colds. With the winter setting in, it needs a special mention.
There is a marked change in the attitude of the medical world as regards the tonsils. The old custom of “tonsil snatching”, that once meant millions of tonsil operations a year, is dying a well-earned death.
On this point, orthodox medicine has rallied down to the conservative view held by the homeopathic school. It has been an unsaid homeopathic rule to save the tonsils whenever possible. With careful application of the properly indicated remedies, I have seen homeopathy succeeding in many cases when failure seemed certain, and especially among children in whose case excising (removal) is rarely, if ever, justifiable.
According to homeopathic philosophy, such local conditions are a result of the weak immune system and almost invariably due to constitutional disturbances. The removal of tonsils does not improve these disturbances in the least. Homeopathic philosophy stresses on the necessity to study the condition of the body as a whole before one deals with tonsillitis.
Tonsils form part of the body?s defences. Their removal generally means rendering the body more susceptible for infections. Also the tonsils are a kind of indicators of the general health of the body. One might compare them to the barometer in the hall. Well, certainly one cannot improve the weather by smashing the barometer!
The treatment of enlarged tonsils with homeopathy has two stages in cases of long standing. Acute inflammation needs to be treated with a different set of medicines and its recurrence to be treated once the acute stage is over. Deep-acting medicines are required to treat the constitution and bring about lasting relief. It is true that this method takes a longer time, but it is also the best one because not only the tonsils are cured but also the patient.
Belladonna
It stands at the head of the list of remedies in tonsillitis. Very useful in acute stages where tonsils are bright red and swollen, and there is difficulty in swallowing fluids
Baryta carb
It is indicated in tonsillitis, with the formation of pus, when the right side of the throat is worse than the left, enlargement of the glands in the neck, under the jaw and behind the ears. It is one of the best remedies for removing the tendency to tonsillitis, particularly in children, who are sensitive to every little exposure to damp or cold weather which leads to a fresh attack of tonsillitis. It is one of the remedies to prevent the return of this condition and changes the constitutional tendency of the patient.
Iodides
Iodides in various combinations are extremely useful in treating inflamed tonsils.
Constitutional treatment
It is aimed at stopping the recurrence of such attacks. Deep-acting medicines like Tuberculinum, Calcarea Phos, Psorinum and Sulphur are often employed

i dont think removing tonsils is good. actually doctors say that if they r infected u gotta go for a surgery.. but it decreases the immunity if u get it removed.
but its not even good to have infected tonsilitis. gargling with salt water and not having cold things like icecream and cold water helps a lot.
i got rheumatoid arthritis when i was 14. and doctors said its bcoz of the infected tonsilitis. and i went thru the surgery. but i dont think thats the right thing to do. after affects r many. its not at all suggestable to remove them.
the best option is to go for a homeopathic treatment. if it is in intial stages, 5 pills of bico 10, thrice a day will do.

I am a S/W engineer working in CSC, Noida for the past 2 years. I belong to Rae-Bareli (UP) and had completed MCA from Aligarh Muslim University in 2005. My father is Prinicple in Kendriya Vidyalaya. I am in need of your help.
Back to 2004 in Rae Bareli, there was a profuse bleeding from my nose that lasted for around 6-7 hours. I was rushed to the SGPGI, Lucknow and then shifted to KJMC Lucknow. Doctors in KJMC packed my nose with the cotton and the parrafin wax for 2-3 days. After some days, they removed the packing stuff from my nose and did the contrast CT SCAN and the report said that it was an autolysed angiofibroma . May be because of the homeopathe medicine that I was taking for 1-2 years had autolysed that nasal polyp. I was discharged and then everyithing went fine.
Now, some days back. I started feeling that some clotted blood ( pus form along with clotted blood ) is going into my nasopharynx . I had checked my self in different allopathy doctors like in Max Saket, Apollo Indraprashtha, Kailash Noida and again did the normal and the contract CT Scan. The report againg showed that there are some stuffs in my right sinus (may be nasal polyp growth or pus form) or angioma or angiofibroma. Also, there is no teatment of these kind of nasal growths other than surgery. I had also seen some re-occur cases as well and hence, don’t want to operate.
Some of my friends suggested me to go for the homeopathy. I searched alot on internet and found your site. Please help me in this regard. I will be thankfull to you.

My wife(28 yrs) is regularly suffering from throat chocking,nose congestion & voice restriction troubles.She had these symptoms from earlier period also, but recently the problem has become multifold.
We have checked with ENT specialists time to time & she is said to have pharingites & Tonsilitis & accordingly doctors prescribed relevant antibiotics to cure that.
Recently she had developed these problem very severely & I checked with one ENT sergeon from a renowned hospital in Kolkata.He has advised to perform Tonsillectomy-operation to be cured from this trouble permanently.
I would like to take a second opinion about this & would request you to kindly advise me if there is any other way out of treating this problem other than operation.

Hi, My daughter suffering of tonsilitus every 6-12 weeks, went to see specialist and he said it needs to bee removed as it is in level 3 size. But i’m not sure what to do as it wont solve the problem i’m scared she then will be gettin chest infections and she is only 3yrs old. What would you suggest? Iam durai , I have tonsil stone in left side of my throat (back of tongue) that is appeared may be one year but I know last month it was tonsil stone.
two crypt(pocket) in that area awful stones when cough It will come out and I have bad breath ,ear itching problem also. and consulting ENT splst sugest some antibiotics . after having antibiotics tonsil stone and cypts still there

i am 32 and recently have got little boll kind of stuff below my jaw at right hand side, whereas on left, there is nothing. I believe, its a beginning of Tonsil. I have noticed this for last one month. it use to become bigger if i eat spicy stuff, but next day it would to be normal.
But for last one week, it’s there only and i can feel the swelling. Though it is not troubling me while drinking or eating.
