Ulcerative colitis is the inflammatory condition of the digestive tract. It is also classified under the inflammatory bowel disease. Ulcerative colitis is marked by inflammation in the large intestine (colon) and the rectum.It affects the innermost lining of the large intestine and rectum, producing ulcers. Loose stools mixed with blood are characteristic symptoms of ulcerative colitis.Weakness caused by recurrent bloody diarrhoea seriously affects of one’s quality of life and can also lead to life-threatening complications.

That can lead to dehydration and shock.Another complication that can occur in this type of ulcerative colitis is that the colon can rupture and produce what is called toxic megacolon.This occurs when the colon becomes severely distended. In all forms of ulcerative colitis, the chances of developing anaemia are high, as diarrhoea and blood loss is regularly present.
It is not clear how ulcerative colitis occurs, but researchers believe that our immune system has a lot to do with its occurrence.They believe that there could be two ways in which our immune reactions causeulcerative colitis.First, the immune reaction targets a bacteria or a micro-organism in our gut, and ulcerations are a fallout of the immune cells destroying the micro-organisms.The second could be a purely misdirected immune reaction where the cells that line our colon and rectum get targeted (by mistake) by the defence cells.

Sir, I called you a few days ago about my son who is almost about 12 years old. He has had a full analysis of his condition and it has been confirmed that he has ulcerative colitis. He goes 2-3 times to the toilet everyday and passes a slimy and bloody stool with mucous. He has no pain but can you please recommend a homeopathic cure to stop his frequent visits to the toilet and his bloody stools. He has not taken any medicine for 3-4 months now if this helps.
In the year 1999 when I was under pregnancy of 3-4 month. I got the problem of diarrhea (Not bloody). Please let me know if I am giving my 10 yr. old , with left sided colitis the correct treatment. During a flare up, her symptoms are as follows:
*watery stool with blood and sometimes mucus
*joint pain in the legs mostly, even at times when her stool i fine
*just recently, a first time occurance of severe pain in her left him socket/joint
We have discovered that oranges and apples, (we think strawberries and bluberries, although we have not tested these two), cause her to begin bleeding, from a period of remission, upon ingesting.When she does begin to flare, we usually cut out wheat and other suspicious culprits from her diet, though she can eat wheat/gluton and not BEGIN bleeding when eaten in an already remissive state.
That said we have been treating her with the following:
