Ulcerative colitis Its Homeopathic Treatment
ULCERATIVE COLITIS (UC) is a disease in which the lining of the large intestine (colon) becomes inflamed. This inflammation leads to the formation of raw sores, or ulcers, causing pain and bloody diarrhea. UC usually begins gradually with bloody diarrhea, rectal bleeding, cramps or pain in the belly, and growing urgency to move the bowels. Depending on which area of the colon is affected, the stool may be normal or hard and dry.
Other symptoms may be fever, fatigue, weight loss, loss of appetite, anaemia from loss of blood, pus in the stool, malnutrition and slow growth in children.
UC can also affect parts of the body outside the colon, causing skin sores, mouth sores, joint pain, and inflammation of the eyes, the liver, the kidneys or the gallbladder.
Homeopathic medicines Merc Sol, Merc Cor, Sulphur and Phosphorus are a few of the important ones used in treating ulcerative colitis. The patient requiring Merc Sol has a continuous urge for passing stool and urine ? a never-get-done feeling. One often passes pure blood or bloody water. Symptoms asking for Merc Cor are nearly the same as those of Merc Sol; it is only the intensity which contributes to the selection. Merc Cor has more violent attacks, with a violent urge to pass stool and to urinate. Intense suffering follows. Phosphorus is indicated in cases which have painless and profuse stool passed involuntarily and freely.
Sulphur is indicated in long-standing cases of ulcerative colitis

Dear Dr. Verma,
My husband is suffering from UC for last 15 years. He is now 47 years old and he does not drink or smoke. He always watch what he eats and always eats only organic foods. His disease is strange, it did not flare up in the past, it was always at the stable condition, he used to go to the toilet for 6-7 times a day only in the mornings before noon. However lately it is flared up a lot, since two weeks he is making lot more trips to the washroom, he is going for every 2 to 3 hours and he had lost 7 pounds of weight. His colonoscopy is scheduled to be on Friday Feb 1st. and we shall see. From his last colonoscopy year ago it was not so bad, he lost all the pockets though but stable and no chances of any dangerous disease.
Would you please provide any suggestions or recommendation to us?

I have been suffering for ulcerative colitis from many years.I was devastated when i got to know that there is no permanent cure for ulcerative colitis.Living with ulcerative colitis effects our normal life and totally changes the course of life.We have to think twice while going out for a trip because of the embrassments we might encounter,like urgency to go to the rest room,going to the rest room many times,feeling like going to the rest room after lunch etc…I really hope that doctors or scientist will find a permanent cure for this disease.Once i went out with my freinds and had takila(mexican drink) and felt much better.I dont know how this will help.But i would appreciate if you could research on this.Maybe this might help in finding a permanent cure.

I am suffering from the colitis since last 18 years and my main complaint is pain in the left side of the abdomen. This is felt particularly after the evacuation. Though I dont have to go to toilet more than 2 time in the morning but I never felt light after going to the toilet and heavyness and urge to go to toilet remains. My husband is suffering from ulcerative colities since last 2 years (he is 35 years). In 1st stages he got sulferslazine but it could not help him and his sperm count came to ’0′ level. As we are thinking of our 1st baby we started homeopathy treatments after 1 year of his decease.
Now he is on homeopathy treatments and his sperm count also increased upto 10Ml. I had to faced to a miscarriage after 3 months in last May without a known reason. my wife was suffering froom ulcertaive colitis since last 4 years. She used to go to toilet more than 10 times in day with watery and bloody stool. She was prescirbed entofoam enema/prednosoline/metasol..which controlled the sympotms immediately but led to side effects like weight gain, itching etc..
Since last wo years she is on homeopathic treatment from Dr. BB Lal and the problem has been cured. Now she is normal and homoepathic medicines have been stopped. The last medicines she took were- trombidium/nux vom/rhus tox.
There is definitely a cure of UC in homoepathy if treated with care.

In Dec 2006 I had some pain in the left side of my stomach. I consulted doctors and he diagonised this as symptom of collitis. Normally I had soft stool and no blood in it. However after taking medicine there was no releif and I was referred to Ahmedabad. By the time I had blood coming in stool not always but at times.
At Ahmedabad I was priliminary diagonised having Ulcerative collitis and initially given Mesacol tab 400 mg -3 times a day. Later colonscopy was done and it was seen that I have ulcerative collitis in the last 15 cms of rectum. Biopsy report was normal. I continued with Mesacol tablet as per doctors advice and after 6 months ( June 2007) a 2nd colonscopy was done on me. I was informed that ulcerative collitis ahs cured and to continue Mesacol for another 3 months and then stop medicine. I did exactly what doctor advsied me. By mid 2007 I got transferred to a place near Chandigarh and I started experiencing same symptoms by Nov 2007 ( after about a remission of 3 months). I consulted one MD -gastroenterologist and he gave me Mesacol enema and thereafter mesacol suppository. Whole of 2008 I had experienced remission and relapse time to time. I again got transferred to Gujarat in August 2008 . I started suffering of gas and urge of passing stool but rarely passed stool. I again consulted another MD- Gastroenterologist and he has given me Balacol 2 tabs 3 times day for one month.
Now i pass stool 2 times day. Very rarely there is blood in my stool. Whenever blood is present mostly it is in the form of 1-2 tiny clots and no fresh or liquid blood is seen. I don’t have any pain in the stomach. My age is 53. I don’t have any family history of ulcerative collitis.
I know for sure that there is no cure of ulcerative collitis in allopathy teatment. Can you suugest me homeopathic medicine which can cure my disease.?

Im 19 now. Just got colitis around after my birthday in November. Man was those flare-ups are NO joke. My body starts feelin tired, thristy, bloody crap, barely walking, paranoid, painful heartburn & extreme gases. Then rapidly kept going 2 the E.R. 4 (2) months in a row. (Jan. `O9 – Feb. `O9) Doc prescribe 2 sum pills like cypo or flagyl or whatever. Then the starts 2 get me betta, yet i became much sicker with the “Side Effects”. I hate going 2 hospital 4 them I dubbed them as “All Of HELL Of All Testes”. Graciouzly by God, that gratefully that im slowly recovering in March `O9 (less going 2 da hospital & die slowly) im trying 2 be a rapper as well

I am from north india working here in bangalore. I was a healthy boy till 25 when I got a job in bangalore. I eprienced a bad stomach after that I consulted a doctor. The doctor did a colonoscopy and endoscopy but could not found anything special. After that he put me on tegaserod melate (Zelnorm) for one month, the tegaserod came to me as a night mare, I was even able to eat after the tegaserod treatment and I suffered for 1.5 yrs like anything, after that the symptoms got eased out and next 1.5 years I was able to eat any thing. But recently the symptoms came back and I am now again facing these symptomps-
1) Irritation in stomoch
2) Loss of appetite
3) deformed stool.
4) undigested food (visible) in the stools.
5) pain is not there but I feel a rotating swelled areas in my stomach.
Any one have any Idea what is wrong with me . I was told earliar that I have IBS, but I feel it is more than that as my loss of appetite is so sever I am not able to eat at all at times. I was diagonized with UC few years back. I consulted couple of doctors and finally landed up with a perfect one. I am now taking Mesacol 800 mg + priobiotics tablet , follic acid tabs and few vitamins. I feel I am doing good and healthy with minor symptoms sometimes.. Though I stopped drinking for the past one year still I am still eating outside food(sometimes junk foods) though not spicy and oily.
It is for sure that till now there are no permanent cure for this problem. But guys according to my view, Ulcerative colitis will just bring you a slight changesin your life style.
I learned that only four mandatory things one need to follow if he has UC.
1) No to over oily food
2) No very spicy food
3) No too much of fatty food
4) Less consumption of milk.
No restriction as such that we should stop eating outside and stop eating fried and spicy food as we can have it occasionally.
I strongly suggest everyone to start doing some kind of meditation, maybe pranayama or some breathing exercise which could bring you peace and relieve your stress and anxiety which could aggreviate the symptoms.
Over all if you think UC is a problem definitely you will feel along your way, but if you forget it and change your life style slightly you may even forget one day that you have that problem.

I have this problem so called IBS . I need to go to the toilet at leaset 2-3 times a day . Some times immideatly after food i have the urgency .
I have this problem scince 6 /8 years . I had been treated for this and while doing this the doctors discovered I ahd gallblader stone . I have been treated fro the same as well and got my gall blader revomed . two year back I thought that was the end to my problem .

I am suffering from UC since last 5 yrs.Before that i had been suffering frm rheumatoid arthritis for 15 yrs and still am.All of my joints are affected particularly knees and elbows.Last year I have replaced my knee joint by surgery.Along with suffering frm rheumatoid arthritis I also have a serious problem of UC.I keep having pain in my stomach and urge to pass stool frequently as well as lot of mucus and blood is passed in it.

I was suffering from Irritable Bowel Disease for 2 years. I got Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis. I recently suffered from UC attack(3-4 weeks)…… its pancolitis (my whole colon is affected by ulcers). I’m on mascol, wyslone steroids 25mg/day (which my doc is tapering every 5 days by 5mg) and shelcal. i’m being suggested to go for homeopathy along with this treatment ASAP along with this treatment. Is it OK? & is there 100% cure for UC with homeopathy.?
I read extreme cases of UC may lead to Colon cancer. How true is that?

I understand the pain, coz the last 20 yrs, i’m living with this disease.
I have been given prednisolone (Omnacortil), Mesalamine (Mesacol) and Azathiophrine (Zymurine). Omnacortil is a “deadly” steroid.
Ultimately, my body got used to these drugs, were later ineffective.
I tried homeopathic medicines but in vain.
Though Ayurvedic medicines helped extremely.
The medicines are :
Enterodys-OP, Shankvati, Haemolin tonic, Dandimvaleha tonic and the doctor has given me a mixture of herbs.
Ayurveda comes in effect after 2-3 months.
Avoid sugar and milk, all types of wheat products, rice is good, turmeric works magic. boiled potatoes are good. don’t eat spices and fried foods. Light fry boiled potatoes with powder jeera and turmeric in very little oil make gravy, eat with rice. u”ll see results in 2 months.
My symptoms have reduced considerably.

I’M suffering from ulcerative collitis since 2 and 1/2 yrs. My husband has UC and read online about Vitamin E enemas. I know it sounds bad and very uncomfortable, however it helps him. It hasnt ” cured” him yet but he was on Meds for a few months but we moved and lost our insurance, so he gave the enemas a try because he got desperate. He has to be strict with his diet, but other than that he is fine and is not taking any meds for it and hasnt had a flair up for several months. However, if he eats “unhealthy” for a few days in a row, blood in the stool will return. But if he sticks to his diet he feels like a million bucks. Also, Sea Buckthorn Oil is a supposed cure. This is Shifali , age 32 years.Since last 10-12 years i am suffering from chronic constipation.As far as i remeber I do not have any history of disease in my family.On consultation with ayurveda doctors , they suggested It could be a case of Dharan.
As a child I sufferred from Jaundice and was very seriuos for some time.
Since then the metabolism of the body has reduced a lot and I started gaining weight.

I suffered from UC for over 8 years. My nature of jobwas Legal, strenuous and stuck seat for over 8-9 hours a day. As long as I continued that, no medicine helped me. But, after the following course, now I am almost rid of the problem and right now experience that I am about 95% free from UC (it seems so for the past about 6-7 months).
1) I quit the job and now on regular walking and totally relaxed. It took almost three months after I quit the job, to experience the relief from UC, of-course with following medicines.
2) MESACOL 800mg twice a day with. Initially I was put on steroid for 2 months and thereafter it was tapered down and now steroid totally stopped for over a year now.

I was detected UC in Sep 2011. I gone with colonoscopy, biopsy to confirm and started SAZO 500 (2 times @ 2 tabs each time) + Pro biotics. It had given slight relief…so treated with endofoam corticisteroid. After 4 months english medicies, I was started with Ayurveda from Kandamkulathy, thrissur, kerala…..which given a great relief. In this June 2011, i took one colonoscopy, which detected interrupted and non-uniform areas of infections. Means, the UC was seems curing. But i heard that Homeo was giving better relief since good for usage friendly too since i am in Bahain. =So now in Homeo treat from SERENE HOMEO, TRIVANDRUM for last 2 months. It is okay and now taking all foods except Chicken meat , Yellow of egg, No beef / mutton, No fried food, NO WHEAT FOODS, No too much spicy food, NO Raw Milk (with tea is okay), No to raw vegetables. You can be YES to rice products, curd to some extent, ripe bananas, peeled apples, potatoes.
Now toilet is 3 times max…and weight lost was in steady at 64. Apetite is normal.

In my experience, smoking stops this problem, no need to take medicines. But smoking is not good for health. Atleast it stops frequent rush to the loo and you are able to move about without any worry to rush to the loo wherever you are.

I’m just wondering if anyone here has used wikipedia.org to find treatments for ulcerative colitis? If you go there and search it, you’ll see that they’ve done studies where Nicotine patches are helping people with UC, and smokers don’t get it. BUT DON’T SMOKE try the gum or patch.
Also, what do these drugs like Sulfasalazine and Imuran and others that are used to treat Ulcerative colitis have in common? I suffered with Proctitis for about 7 yrs before finally the pain got to be so horrible at passing stool that I went and got a colonoscopy in 2008 to confirm my suspicion since I already knew what I had. Ulcerative Colitis, Proctitis, and Chrons responds to SULFUR…….Go to wikipedia and search Humira and Imuran and look at the Sulfur.
Sulfur that you take is called MSM-methylsulfonatmethane or something like that-which you can buy from any vitamin store on the internet like swansovitamins for not that much money…….You will have to investigate it and experiment with the dosage and should see results as soon as 1 month depending on situation and DAMAGE to colon.
You need to repair the colon with eating sulfur containing foods or MSM which are used by the body to make the amino acids in collagen WHICH GIVES SKIN ITS STRENGH AND ELASTICITY. For the process of producing collagen to happen, you have to have vitamin c in your diet so that the reactions can happen. After you add these collagen building and anti-inflammatory supplements, you need to reduce stress which will in-turn reduce cortisol WHICH DESTROY COLLAGEN IN YOUR SKIN MAKING YOU WRINKLY. Go to wikipedia and learn about CORTISOL, SKIN, COLLAGEN and keratin to see that vitamin C, sulfur and REDUCED cortisol are a must.

You are not going to get this under control without RESTORING the colon to proper health!
