ULCERATIVE COLITIS (UC) is a disease in which the lining of the large intestine (colon) becomes inflamed. This inflammation leads to the formation of raw sores, or ulcers, causing pain and bloody diarrhea. UC usually begins gradually with bloody diarrhea, rectal bleeding, cramps or pain in the belly, and growing urgency to move the bowels. Depending on which area of the colon is affected, the stool may be normal or hard and dry.
Other symptoms may be fever, fatigue, weight loss, loss of appetite, anaemia from loss of blood, pus in the stool, malnutrition and slow growth in children.
UC can also affect parts of the body outside the colon, causing skin sores, mouth sores, joint pain, and inflammation of the eyes, the liver, the kidneys or the gallbladder.
Homeopathic medicines Merc Sol, Merc Cor, Sulphur and Phosphorus are a few of the important ones used in treating ulcerative colitis. The patient requiring Merc Sol has a continuous urge for passing stool and urine ? a never-get-done feeling. One often passes pure blood or bloody water. Symptoms asking for Merc Cor are nearly the same as those of Merc Sol; it is only the intensity which contributes to the selection. Merc Cor has more violent attacks, with a violent urge to pass stool and to urinate. Intense suffering follows. Phosphorus is indicated in cases which have painless and profuse stool passed involuntarily and freely.

My husband has UC and read online about Vitamin E enemas. I know it sounds bad and very uncomfortable, however it helps him. It hasnt ” cured” him yet but he was on Meds for a few months but we moved and lost our insurance, so he gave the enemas a try because he got desperate. He has to be strict with his diet, but other than that he is fine and is not taking any meds for it and hasnt had a flair up for several months. However, if he eats “unhealthy” for a few days in a row, blood in the stool will return. But if he sticks to his diet he feels like a million bucks. Also, Sea Buckthorn Oil is a supposed cure. Research the Vit E enema and Sea Buckthorn it may help. Thanks

I am suffering from ulcerative colitis from 1 year it is diagnos by endoscopy & biopsy & barium enema.
Symptoms:mucus & blood with stool.
I am taking alopathic treatment from 6th month but there is no cure from that

I am having IBS or Colitis is not exactly clear. Suffering from last 15 years. Severe lower abdominal pain / Colon pain (all three sides), diarrhea, always feeling of insufficient passing of stool, no feel of hunger, acid, back ache due to abdominal pain, very emotional, age 60 years, complexion fair, square face, recently both eyes cataract opn. done, There is no blood seen in the stool. Iam 20 year old suffering from ulcerative colitis from the past 2 years .Iam regularly using steroids from the last 2 months but i have doubt that the attack may come because of bowel movements , cramps in stomach , 2 times soft stool per day althoufh the blood has stopped .But the symptomps are still noticable . please suggest me how it can heal and treatment of homeoparhy also .

My Mother is suffering from UC for last 6 years. She is now around 48 years old. she used to go to the toilet for 3-4 times a day & night.Two month back she was having lots of stress in her mind due to some family problem so since than She had having increase her problem and lost weight and feel so weakness in her body.and now she has having body & joint pain problem.Now she is on allopathy (Mesacol 800 gm./thrice a day and folic acid)and now dr. add some more medicine also. From his last colonoscopy year ago and this is pancolitis. so is there any chances of any dangerous disease?
