ULCERATIVE COLITIS (UC) is a disease in which the lining of the large intestine (colon) becomes inflamed. This inflammation leads to the formation of raw sores, or ulcers, causing pain and bloody diarrhea. UC usually begins gradually with bloody diarrhea, rectal bleeding, cramps or pain in the belly, and growing urgency to move the bowels. Depending on which area of the colon is affected, the stool may be normal or hard and dry.
Other symptoms may be fever, fatigue, weight loss, loss of appetite, anaemia from loss of blood, pus in the stool, malnutrition and slow growth in children.
UC can also affect parts of the body outside the colon, causing skin sores, mouth sores, joint pain, and inflammation of the eyes, the liver, the kidneys or the gallbladder.
Homeopathic medicines Merc Sol, Merc Cor, Sulphur and Phosphorus are a few of the important ones used in treating ulcerative colitis. The patient requiring Merc Sol has a continuous urge for passing stool and urine ? a never-get-done feeling. One often passes pure blood or bloody water. Symptoms asking for Merc Cor are nearly the same as those of Merc Sol; it is only the intensity which contributes to the selection. Merc Cor has more violent attacks, with a violent urge to pass stool and to urinate. Intense suffering follows. Phosphorus is indicated in cases which have painless and profuse stool passed involuntarily and freely.
Sulphur is indicated in long-standing cases of ulcerative colitis

Iam suffering from UC since 38 Yrs. and have taken medicines available time to time in the medical area but no permanant cure. Noe again after 4 yrs. the disease has started. I would like to mention that my daughter is also suffering from U C for the last 6 years.

I have sciatica pain in my left portion from hip to knee for several years.I have not yet taken any treatment.In early years I was feling the pain occassionally but now its continous.Pl suggest any homeopathy treatment.

I had been suffering from collitis for more than 5 year and the same had been cured by taking Salazopyrin. Recently, I quit smoking on 8th October 2010 and thereafter from 1st November 2010 the disease rekindle again I am taking one mesacol 400mg for morning and night with providac, but no improvement is observed. I am suffering from Ulcerative Colitus for more than 5 year.
I am taking 2+2+2 daily Aesacol (Mesazine) tablest 400mg + Risek (Omeprazol) 20mg caspule daily + Imuran 50mg (Azathioprine)1+1 and Deltacortil Enteric Coated 5mg 3+3 dail use in morning and night with folic acid.

I am suffering from UC more than ten years. Nowadays it has become some dangerous state. I am getting treatments from a professor in Sri Lanka. I am getting 40mg prednisilone per week and reduce by 10mg by a week. I was instructed to use entofoam enema for a month. But the problem is enerfoam is not available in Sri Lanka. I am also suffering from symptoms like Colitis/ IBS/ amibiosis .They all are related. But there is no care forever. Instead the symptoms repeat after an interval of time.

Meri wife UC se pichle 7-9 months se pidit hai. meri wife elopathy medicine kha rahi but uska koi fayada nahi ho raha hai staring mein meri wife ko stool pass ke saath blood bhi aata tha tab elopathy medicine mein 1. mesacol 800 2. whysolone 40 mg kha ke unke stool pass 15 se 2-3 reh gaye aur blood bhi ana band ho gaya. jab whysolone 40 mg se doctor ne dhire-2, 5 mg par kiya tab bhi problem theek thi jab 5 mg chori to stool pass 7-10 baar aana without blood aane lage. to aab tak stool pass 5-7 baar aa rahen hai. mere ko kisi ne guide kiya hai ki aap herbal medicine lo. usse kaffi fark padega. kindly guide me doctor mr. I am suffering from UC for last 6 years,and done colonoscopy 4 times,it shows 3-5 small wounds in colon.now i am continously taking 1 mesacol 400mg perday. Whenever i eat egg and meat i can see blood in stool and also suffering joint pain,headache,etc..Now i have 36 yrs old my wheight is only 58 kg for last 6 years.
i heared about this decease it will couse for colon cancer is it true? and also it cannot

i m suffering from UC since mid 2007. presently i m taking 800 mg mesacol twice a day….along with i m taking homeopathic medicine lycopodium 200 one day in a week…and nux vomica 30, 6 days in a week..!
all this has reduced my no. of bowel movements and urgency of going to toilet.

Its horrible seeing the person you love the most go through this in such severe pain.
