What Are Adenoids

Symptoms of enlarged adenoids are easily recognizable .The most common symptom is that of difficulty in breathing through the nose .This is most predominant at night when the child is sleeping. Disturbed nasal breathing in kids with enlarged adenoids shows up in two ways-Snoring and breathing through the mouth . If during the day time the child is showing the signs of mouth breathing ,the enlargement of adenoids is usually severe. The most worry some symptom is that of sleep apnea. Sleep apnea refers to a condition where the child has breathing pauses during sleep .This sleep disturbance manifests itself in the day time by paroxysmal drowsiness and difficulty in concentration in the kids .Other symptoms of enlarged adenoids may include bad breath and dry mouth. Increase in the size of adenoids leads to pressure changes on the Eustachian tube causing hearing difficulties and recurrent middle ear infections. Another complication that usually arises out of enlarged adenoids is recurrent infections in the sinuses – often called as sinusitis.

My son who is turning 5 in december has been diagnosed with enlarged adenoids. He breathes through his mouth at night & seems to speak through his nose. He can not concentrate & can not sit still. The ENT specialist has recommended surgery, ofcourse !! I was planning to give Agraphis Nutans as I have heard a lot of good reviews on it. But I feel like I should leave it to a professional as I am not a homeopathic doctor.
Also was wandering, could the enlarged adenoids be due to milk allergy? I can not get him checked for lactose intolerance as its very traumatic for a child to go through 4 blood tests in the same day. Please show us the light. Going to buy organic castor oil to rub on his nose and on his liver after his bath tonight, hopefully this might help. Please get back to me at your earlier convenience.

Your article on adenoid is really very informative and showing some hope for my son.
My son is 6.2 years old (Height: 124 CM, Weight: 33.5 Kg), and he is having adenoid and allergy problem for last ~2.5 years.
Currently we are in Bangalore and as per recent nasoendoscopy his Adenoids is at grade 3 now.
It started because of dust caused by some construction in my neighbourhood. Since then he developed this allergy.
For ~2 years I was consulting a renowned homeopathy only, but I don’t know what medicine they were giving, I don’t have any prescription. In beginning I noticed some improvement, but problem is still there even after 2 years of treatment.
For last 2 months I have stopped his homeopathy medicines and now because of bad weather in Bangalore he got some infection. That infection got cured but now he is not getting proper sleep.
He snores a loudly and wakes up several times because of breathing problem.
In this duration of 2 years he was out of Bangalore twice to spend his summer vacations and in this period he was quite normal, but once he came back to Bangalore the problem started again.
In addition to this he is having constipation problem and we are giving him “Laxopeg” a stool softener (Started with full sachet now for last 7-8 month reduced it to half sachet). He drinks plenty of water and we had got some kind of X-Ray (Barium Anima) done for his intestines but no problem was found in that, and doctor said it is just habitual.
I am still keeping faith on Homeopathy and looking for cure for my kids Adenoid and Allergy problem. Kindly suggest me how to proceed for this.

I was hoping for a natural cure when I chanced in upon your article.
She snores loudly for a 3year old,has sleep apnea and has weighed 13kg for a rather long time.

First X-rays Report of Adenoids (LAT View)i.e..
