Autism getting cured
autism is getting better Says Sangeeta goel….My son was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder when he was 2 ½ years old. I was told by doctors that there is no cure for it and we just need to be deeply involved in his development. He has been getting speech and occupational therapy at school since he was three and has shown great improvement in his speech and motor skills due to early intervention.
He is very intelligent and grasps things very quickly but it used to be very difficult for him to explain himself. The main reason for concern for me was his very small attention span. His teacher used to send me an email everyday that he was not able to focus in the classroom and did not finish his morning work and she is sending the work home. I used to dread to see his teacher’s emails that another day of complaints.
Autism treatment , One day I was just browsing the Internet to find some cure for him when I came across an article published by Dr. Vikas Sharma in The Tribune. I took his email address from the article and wrote to him asking if a long distance treatment was possible. I was elated to know that it was possible and I asked Dr. Sharma to send me the evaluation form. Dr. Sharma was kind enough to call me several times to get clear picture of my son’s symptoms. The treatment was started soon after the evaluation. I got my son started on the medicine and within a week I received an email from his teacher saying that he finished his morning work without any help or reminders. I have only good things to hear about him from that day. He used to stammer while talking, but soon he started to talk with less difficulty. His hyperactivity has decreased a lot and he started to follow the directions. His bowel movements have become regular and he gets less irritated. I have seen tremendous improvement in him ever since I started his treatment with Dr. Sharma 6-8 months ago. Dr. Sharma is very prompt in addressing any health issues I have had with my son. He has always made sure that the medicines are dispatched in a timely manner.

Hi, I just wanted to find out if you guys could help me. In Jan 2012 My son was diagnosed with autism and moderate global developmental delay. The hospital then sent us on our way with a lot of phone numbers for autism. Since then Emmanuel has had occupational therapy, speech therapy, and is now at koorana pre-school prep programme and has made some improvement but not a lot, he is still non verbal. What I have now only realised and no one told me is that Global developmental delay is separate from autism. I was not informed of this so in consequence have not done testing for Emmanuel or gone into therapies for global developmental delay. I am not sure if you are the people I need to speak to but I am just trying to get some help and guidance on what to do. Any information would be greatly appreciated

Hello Dr. I am the proud parent of a wonderful and very smart 8 yr old boy, unfortunately he’s been diagnosed with PPD. He is very smart and the way he communicates is very articulate and that is one of the reasons I believe in my heart the he has been diagnosed incorrectly. In the other hand he demonstrates hyperactivity and his brain seems to be working none stop to the point that he gets frustrated and angry. Right now he’s in second grade but he is home schooled due to the fact that my wife and I didn’t feel that his school and school staff gave us many choices my wife and I felt that he was going to be treated as a child with extremely high needs regardless of his learning capacity. Right now we are on our third psychiatrist because we feel that every Dr. We have seen wants to treat him with drugs with out even giving him a thorough evaluation right now he’s on a cocktail of * risperdal and clonidine*. Believe me when I tell you I am not blind to the fact that my son has some issues but I also believe it in my heart that he is very smart and capable of doing great things I just wish that I knew how to get to the bottom of this issue I feel like we are going in circles. Please help us.

Hi my son is 3 he has mild autism, he is getting teraphy aba, speech, ot he is smart but he is very cranky e, he wants everything on his way sometimes, he is in good mood and does work well with the therapy but when he is in bad mood he is a nightmare please help

Sir, i had started my son Sudhanshu’s autism treatment since 6 month ago from your clinic. Also we have started ABA therapy. also we put him into play house. We have seen that he has lot of improvement in his eye contact. He pay attention toward us but not with other person. He also understand feeling such as if he is thirsty or hungry then he pick up our hand & bring us to kitchen for water & food but he is not expressed with words. He talking words but which is not meaningful. He started talking baba, mama, kaka, etc as we told him. As you diagnosed him as mild to moderate ASD, then when to be he cured. please help my child
I have twin boys who will be turning 5 in June 2011. Both of them have had significant global developmental delays – speech being the worst. They did not present with the “classic” autism symptoms – just seemed very delayed overall. We started therapies when they were 18 month sold – and we have not seen much progress in the last 3 years. They were recently diagnosed with ASD – after years of doctors/neuros not being able to give us a diagnosis beyond sensory processing disorder and global delay.
We’ve been doing everything therapywise – OT/PT/Speech/Horsebackriding and 2.5 hrs/day of pre-school – with barely any improvement. They are almost non-verbal and have under 5 word approximations. We do a lot of sensory activities as well. Both of them have had sweaty heads after falling asleep in the past – but that’s getting better. They also seem warm to the touch – without a fever.
Do you think you could possible help us..? We’re in the US.

need help for my autistic son of 2 years 8 months
I am a very stressed and guilty mother of a 4 year old boy, Krish. I started work when my son turned 2 and started going to school. My mother often told me he that Krish does not respond to his name, but due to ignorance I just thought he must be ignoring on purpose. I’d playfully call him ‘lollipop’ since he likes it and he’d turn around and see. So i told my mom he’s too smart to care about our calling. This was when he was two and a half. However with time with no speech and lack of involvement in school activities i finally gave in and took him to a child phycologist. It turned out he’s got Autism Spectrum Disorder. He’s shown improvement thru recovery, but i can’t help but feel i lost two years and if only I had acted faster, he’d probably not even had it.
He’s 4 now. has started responding to few questions. He knows numbers, alphabets but hates to draw or even hold pencil.
