Head injury broadly includes any injury that occurs on the scalp, skull or the brain. A head injury can vary from a mild bump on the scalp to a severe brain injury. A minor head injury may lead to confusion or a headache. On the other hand, a significant head injury may lead to memory loss, coma or death. Head injuries are broadly categorized into two types – closed head injury and open/penetrating head injury. In case of closed head injury, the skull does not break. Breaking of the skull by an object, and its entry into or on the brain is referred to as an open or penetrating head injury. Cerebral contusions – Bruising of the brain tissue is known as a cerebral contusion. Skull fracture – A break in the skull bone is known as a skull fracture. It is further divided into four types – linear, depressed, diastatic and basilar skull fracture.
Symptoms of a Head Injury
The symptoms of a head injury can be felt immediately or develop slowly over a couple of hours or days. The intensity of symptoms depends upon the severity of the head injury. The signs of a minor head injury and a major head injury are different.
Symptoms: Minor Head Injury
The symptoms of a minor head injury include dizziness, feeling foggy in the brain, confusion, headache, nausea, ringing in the ears, sensitivity to light/noise, a bump or swollen area on the scalp ( a bruise) or a small superficial cut in the scalp.

My husband suffering from epilepsy since from 30 years. When he was 7 year old he fell down he got head injury so right side of his brain got blood clot . Through his left hand he can’t lift and even he can’t hold any thing. Even effected to left leg partially. Present he is taking zeptol cr 300 tablet twice daily.

This is regarding my Father who is 73 yrs. of age.
My father met with an accident 2.5 yrs back with multiple hemotoma on Back & front lobe & was in ICU for almost 15 days .Since then we had been administering him alopathic medicines which responded well initially but in later stages the recovery process stopped & is in same position for almost 2 years now.We still are giving him Syndopa Plus ( 3 times)& Algil 5 ( 2 Times) daily .In the third month of accident with the recommendation of one of the Homeopath we had given one dose of Arnica 1 M . After MRI no clots were visible but it seems that he has lost the memory of last 10 years,does have visual hallucinations,stumbles while he walks sleep at night, sleeps the whole day,does have disturbed& at times is violent too.The same homeopath has recommended Arnica 1 M in wet dose , two times daily . Results are not negative but are not very encouraging too . How about using CICUTA Virona with this medicine

Dear Dr Sharma my questions are regarding severe head injury.
Patient – My Son
Age at accident – 16yrs
Age at present date – 22yrs
Coma – 35 – 40 days
Operations – 6.
Type of head injury -heavy impact to the head left to right in a diagonal direction, with rebound – also know as ‘leopard’ type of neural damage as it is not limited to one area but expands into different areas.
Type of surgery – skull bone cut out on the left side 9cm if not more circa and circular and the back bottom rightside skull bone cut out of a smaller dimension t compensate swelling.
His own skull tissue was used in a first operation after swelling had subsided but later had to be operated because skull tissue shrunk and a speacial skull material was used and brought over from Switzerland.
Consequences- Hemiparesis to the right side – ( he is right handed). Aphasia, Apraxia, epilepsy and spastic tension.
Therapy used for spastic symptoms – butoline
It took him at least a year to start walking.
It took him 3 months to say his first word.
Therapy undergoing at present: speech therapy, psycho-physio therapy.
Medication taken – Gardanal 100mg per day – Tolep 600mg x 3 a day.
He is walking quite well now but movement to his right arm is very limited – he can use his arm up to is elbow – can grip big objects but only with extreme difficulty and cannot always open his hand after performing action – if under great physical or mental strain spastic symptoms force him to tense.
He can deal with simple conversation – 300 words + but i am unsure if this has improved as i do not have his latest test results
He cannot read or write – but can sign his name and distinguish 3 letter words some 4 letter words and remembers at ramdon words that are important to him.
His intelligence is intact; he can recognise numbers add,take away and perform maths in his head for general every day use. he can play cards poker etc… but cannot remember algebra, geometry etc… electronics, mechanics anything techical are things he can understand quite easily if explained.
He gets very tired and needs to sleep to recuperate especially after undergoing psycho – physio therapy. Tends to slur words when tired or after taking medication.
Analysis results – Cholestrol level very high, probably caused by Gardanal medication and his Gt – gamma value is very high.
He is prone to outburst and being very moody. Very anal and picky. Repetative and annoying. Control freak.Apathetic no interest in anything of real importance ( damage to behavior patterns)
I am trying to get him off medication as this may help him use his mental abilities to the maximum rather than being half asleep with medication but need to keep his epileptic fits under control. Also i think his real personality will surface.
Alternative medicine currently in use. Arnica 10mil. every 2 weeks –
Cicuta Virosa was started 30 days ago : 6ml first 20 days , 18ml following 20 days cut down gardanal to 75 mg and finally 30ml for the next 20 days cut down gardanl to 60mg. We are in the process of doing this and have cut down the gardanal to 75mg.
If this works then I need to take the following step to cut down the medication but need to know what to do.
I’m going to start giving him magnesium about 1000mg a day and curcurmin but do not know how much – this was suggested by dr Russel Blaylock but he does not practice any longer in USA.
I need a naturopath who is willing to deal with this case on a serious basis – many homeopaths i have spoken to will not deal with this case in regards to the epileptic fits as they are afraid to make things worse.
i need to get his analysis values down to normal for his age.
please let me know if you are willing to deal with his case. I have looked up cell stem transplant but there are conflicting info – is it a hoax or is it a real thing but not provided by the health system because too expensive for them to give free of charge to the average citizen? I would be willing to try that too if I knew it was not a money grabbing business but need to know the name of a serious center as money is limited.

My father had a serious road accident and he hit his head badly. He got traumatic brain injury and was operated twice for heametoma on right side of brain.Now after 2 operations and more than a month in the hospital his last ct scan reads as — Near complete resolution of the hyperdense components of the right temporo-parietal bleed is noted.Vasogenic edema around it continues to be seen however.Small remnant of the counter coup haemorrhagic contusions seen in the left inferior frontal region is seen.It continues to be surounded by mild peri lesional edema.No midline shift is seen. Now symptomatically his condition is that he has very less sense of urine and toilet urgencies. He is disoriented and has memory/recognition loss and never obeys commands.pls help……

Past history:- As far as I remember, I have always been facing the problem of indigestion, gastric problem and stomach disorder. It was in 2003 that I faced acute problem of pain in stomach and vomiting I was rushed to the hospital at about 1 am and doctors diagnosed that the main intestine has leaked. They operated me in the morning same day without any further investigation and removed the leaking part of main intestine. After only 2 days, the same problem started and they again operated but the problem was still there. The doctors, then put a colostomy bag which remained for mearly 2 months. I then consulted another hospital where a very reputable surgeon removed the colostomy bag and he also did the operations of main intestine. By these operations, some part of the main intestine was cut and removed and ultimately it remained only 1/3rd of the total length. For those operations I remained mearly one year in different hospitals. According to doctors/surgeons, pockets developed in the main intestine which started leaking from time to time. After coming back from hospital I have been living along with controlled diet. A few months back the stomach problem increased again and I went to the hospital. The doctors did a Bara-meal test and it was diagnosed that there is “sub – acute obstruction” in the main intestine i.e in some places it is partly blocked and anything which should pass through it within one to two hours, it takes 6-8 hours due to which burden remains on stomach and anything eaten remains in stomach for about 24 hours due to blockage in the main intestine. It also happens that the burden/Pain in stomach starts after 24 hours of taking/eating anything which does not suite me. In fact, nothing suits me except very simple diet of plain bread with chicken or mutton soup. This pain remain till such time that this diet passes to main intestine. Surgeons says that the only treatment to remove “sub – acute obstruction” is Roding in main intestine by which obstruction is removed, but in my case, Roding is not possible as it is done with general anesthesia, But in my case general anesthesia because if they resort to it, it would not be possible to bring me back to senses du e to acute weakness.
