Top 3 Natural Homeopathic Remedies for Treating Head Injuries

Head injury broadly includes any injury that occurs on the scalp, skull or the brain. A head injury can vary from a mild bump on the scalp to a severe brain injury. A minor head injury may lead to confusion or a headache. On the other hand, a significant head injury may lead to memory loss, coma or death. Head injuries are broadly categorized into two types – closed head injury and open/penetrating head injury. In case of closed head injury, the skull does not break. Breaking of the skull by an object, and its entry into or on the brain is referred to as an open or penetrating head injury. Homeopathic medicine for head injury helps relieve pain and treats the associated problems following a head injury. Arnica, for example, is an excellent homeopathic first-aid remedy for head injuries.

Causes of Head Injuries

There are several causes of a head injury, which include: – accidents (on a roadside, at home, or at the workplace) – falling and hurting the head – physical assault (getting into a fight, domestic violence, childhood abuse, etc.) – sports injuries (as in skateboarding, soccer, football, hockey, etc. ) – Gunshot wounds

Bleeding below the dura mater (one of the three layers that cover the brain and spinal cord) is known as subdural hematoma while bleeding between dura mater and skull is known as an epidural hematoma. Concussions -Concussions arise from a blow to the head in which the brain gets shaken and hits against the wall of the skull. Cerebral contusions – Bruising of the brain tissue is known as a cerebral contusion. Skull fracture – A break in the skull bone is known as a skull fracture. It is further divided into four types – linear, depressed, diastatic and basilar skull fracture.

I want to report to you that My wife aged 64 years was injured by the fall of the wooden lid, of the box type double bed, on the right side of her head, which then hit the right side of the forehead, about a month ago.

We have given her Arnica 200 three times a day for 15 days then Arnica 1 M only once and then after a week Arnica 10 M only once about a week back. We have also given her Natrum Sulf 200 twice with a gap of 10 days.

Yet she complains of pain on the right side of the head specially forehead. She cannot touch this area of her head and forehead. She cannot comb the hair. She feels that right side muscles of the head are protuding down. She cannot open her right eye with comfort. She feels like lying down with her eyes closed.

She has got the CT scan of the brain done which was normal.
She got her eyes tested by an Opthalmologist who did not find any effect of injury on the eye.

Will you suggest some medicine for her continuing problem

  14. Hi Dr. Sharma,
My name is Theresa and I have had a couple of head injuries in the past year that have resulted in very bad head aches. these head aches come on while I am asleep and they wake me up. Sometimes I have them through the day and others I am ok once I am up and around for a few hours. The first head injury was a hard bang to the front of my head that caused whiplash, the second was a recent fall on the ice last week and I banged the back of my head. This made my headaches worse in that they last all day. I am currently on medication to relax the muscles and for the headaches which is not doing much good. I have taken homeopathic remedies for quite a few years now for multiple other issues with great success however I have not been able to find the correct remedy for these head aches. I need rest…and to be pain free.. the head aches start at the nap of the neck and go around to the top of the head and front sometimes. they make me dizzy, nauseated, and I cannot think. I have gotten acupuncture and message and chiropractor care which helps but does not last. Please help…..thank you Theresa

  17. Namrata Gupta says:

    Hello sir,
My father in law met with an accident on November 5th 2015, from that day he is in vegetative state, he had blood clots in brain and to cure he had a brain surgery on November 8th, in which doctor has kept a part of his scull., After 2 months of this surgery he had some water access in brain and to maintain that doctor has suggested VP shunt, we did that as well on January 8th.
But still he is not responding, he does not follow any command. Initially he was opening his eyes for 6-8 hours in a day, and moving his left hand and leg, and after 3-4 days of shunting he was responding to our commands as well. But now he is completely idle, not moving any part of his body, even does not open eyes.
Neurologically every thing is fine as doctor checked in CT scan report.
Please suggest what should we do in such condition.

    Thanks
    Namrata
