Wonderful Homeopathic Medicines for Chalazion

What is a chalazion?

Chalazion, also known as meibomian cyst, is a cyst in the eyelid caused by inflammation of the blocked meibomian gland. Meibomian glands are sebaceous glands on the eyelid that produce an oily substance that prevents evaporation of the eye’s tear film and lubricates the eye. A most common condition resembling chalazion is the sty. The major difference between the two is that chalazion forms away from the lid margin and is painless, while a sty forms at the eyelid margin and is painful.

How is a chalazion formed?

The chalazion forms in three steps: blockage of the meibomian gland, then retention of the sebum secretions due to blockage of the meibomian gland and lastly, formation of the cyst or chalazion from the pent up secretions. Over time, this cyst turns into a hard node.

Clinical picture of chalazion

Chalazion presents itself as a painless swelling in the eyelid. On examination, a small, hard, non-tender node in the eyelid away from the lid margin is felt. In most cases, chalazion is formed on the upper eyelid. A large chalazion may press on the cornea and cause blurred vision. Other features that may attend include heaviness of the eyelid, eyelid tenderness and light sensitivity. Sometimes chalazion resolves on its own. In a few cases, there are chances of calcification of the chalazion. In others, a secondary infection may occur in the chalazion leading to formation of hordeolum internum.

Homeopathic medicines for chalazion

Under the conventional mode of treatment, surgical removal of the chalazion is advised. However, Homeopathy can treat chalazion very successfully in a non-invasive manner, taking a natural, gentle, yet effective approach. Homeopathic medicines dissolve the chalazion and treat the tendency towards its recurrence. Some top grade Homeopathic medicines to treat chalazion are Thuja Occidentalis, Conium Maculatum, Calcarea Fluor, Staphysagria and Silicea. These medicines are known to show the most wonderful results in treating chalazion cases. Homeopathic medicine Thuja Occidentalis is indicated for chalazion attended with heaviness of the eyelid. Conium Maculatum is the best Homepathic medicine for chalazion that is extremely hard. Homeopathic medicines Calcarea Fluor and Staphysagria are best suited where there is a tendency for the chalazion to recur. 6. Musaddiq Ijaz says:

I am a 64 years old male. I have enlarged prostate (BPH). I have got my self checked. My PSA is normal. There is no cyst. No infection. I have issue in initiating urine and my urine stream is weak. I have to push a few times at the end to complete urination.

Occasionally when I wake up in the morning I feel that there might have been some dribbling during the night because my pyjama is moist. Please suggest a homeopathic medicine. Someone has suggested “R-25” but I would like to have your opinion. Thanks and regards

I am 35 year old male. I have Chalazion on upper eyelid of my right eye for last about one year. At times its size reduces but then increase again. Recently I applied Apple Cider Vinegar and Castor Oil topically which caused discharge in the eye and the size reduced significantly though it was not completely gone. On stopping the application the size increased again. Can you please prescribe homeopathic medicine which can permanently cure this problem. You are welcome to ask any further information if you so desire before prescribing the medicine.

    • Dear Dr,

I have a chalazion on my Right lower eyelid right on the edge of the lud where my lashes are. I have lost some of my lashes. My dr said he can not operate it becsuse it may cause scarring or deformity to the edge of the lud which may mean the lid does not close properly and creates a dry eye situation. It has been getting bigger. Not painful but hot compresses do not make it get smaller. I have had it for 3 years now either after eyelash extensions which I tried or when I had conjunctivitis, which may have triggered it. I feel sad to have this hard lump on me eye lid. Please suggest a homeopathic remedy.
      Thank you so much
