COME winter and it is time for all the cold-related illnesses. Sinusitis happens to be one of them. Although its occurrence is not always related to cold and can happen any time of the year, for those who are sensitive to the least chill in the air, sinusitis may be just round the corner. Sinusitis is the inflammation of the sinuses (hollow spaces) in our skull. These hollow spaces are linked to the nose from inside. The anatomical presence of these cavities makes our skull light for our neck to bear it. Sinuses also provide the resonance to our tone when we speak. During an attack of cold or allergies (mucous membranes start producing more mucus during cold, etc.) swelling in the nose and sinuses can cause the drainage from the sinuses to get blocked. This blockage leads to the trapping of mucus in the sinuses resulting in the growth of bacteria and viruses.
The symptoms
The symptoms of sinusitis depend upon the sinus that gets affected. The morning headache when one wakes up is typical of sinusitis: blocked sensation: in the nose, heaviness and pain in the facial bones and head may occur due to the underlying inflamed sinus. Inflammation in the sinuses that are present behind the bridge of the nose and in-between the eyes can lead to swelling in the eyelids and the tissues around the eyes. Inflammation in the maxillary sinuses can cause pain in the upper jaw and teeth.
Sinusitis may be accompanied by other symptoms of nasal congestion, runny nose, fever, tiredness and cough that may aggravate at night. Post-nasal dripping of mucus can cause problems in the throat too.

I have frontal sinus.I want to know which medicines are helpful for this.
hi dr , iam 35 year old and 35 weeks pregnant lady past 5 days i have high blood pressure which is my doctors are treating with medication , and i have other problem my nose is dry ,cannot respiration ,heat and congestion in head and face and throat my sinuses cannot clear and i dont get cold or runny nose my face and body is heat alot and have headaches feel good in ac and fresh air this problem arises when i had antibiotic treatment for 1 year at the age of 15 ,before my sinuses expels mucus and get clear and i have a lot of heat inside my head i told this to my doctors they dot understand my problem past 2 year when i getin sleep my respiration is complete block my ent check and told me there is no problem doctor i think i have high blood because of this and pls suggest good medicine and sorry i have to tell u one more thing i have a chest congestion and severe acid reflux too pls prescribe some medicines for my problem i will be thankfull to u .

I have problem of nose block during nights especially in rainy/winter days, resulting taking breath is very difficult. luckily one side only this blockage. I got severe cold about 2 years ago and suffered 1 month to get cured. i have undergone CT scan and doctor advised me to go for sinus surgery. I could not go due to some reasons till now. As such i don’t have serious problem now but only taking breath during night would be little uncomfortable and mild head ache . I have gone through some news paper helth articles as I found that only Homeopathic medicines are only can cure 100%. in this regar, I request you give your expert opinion on this to prescribe medicines and treatment.

I have been on a wait list for sinus surgery for 3 years, When really bad I have constant pain in head and teeth. My nose either drips constantly or cannot blow.I have had one incident of green discharge, but I cannot taste or smell and I have hearing loss…..can this be CURED or just treated?
