Sinusitis is an acute or chronic inflammation of the nasal sinuses-hollow cavities within the cheekbones found around the eyes and behind the nose.
The primary functions of these sinuses are to warm, moisten and filter the air in the nasal cavity. They also play a role in our ability to vocalise certain sounds.
Sinusitis, which is common in winter, may last for months or years if inadequately treated. It can affect the nose, eyes or middle ear, and may be indicated by profuse, thick, coloured nasal drainage, bad-tasting post-nasal drip, cough, head congestion and an accompanying headache. Symptoms may also include a plugged-up nose, a feeling of facial swelling, toothache, constant tiredness, and occasionally fever.
There are two types of sinusitis. Acute sinusitis, is often caused by a bacterial infection and usually develops as a complication five to 10 days after the first symptoms of a respiratory infection such as the common cold.
Then there is chronic sinusitis, which may also be caused by bacterial infection. Although colds are the most common cause for acute sinusitis, those with allergies may also be predisposed to develop this problem.

Sinus infection may be due to autoummine responses, allergic reactions and microbial infections. Bacteria, virus and fungi are the potential pathogens that can cause sinusitis, although acute sinusitis can be easily cured with home remedies. However, severe complications may develop if the condition is prolonged. meri 6 sail k beti hai. use allergic problem childhood se hai. climate change hota hai to use cold coryza hota hai. height 1.20 wt- 18 kg. her blood report shows low hemoglobin level it is
10. week but has great stamina. she suffers from blocked nose. i m taking allopathic treatment for her for some months.her x-ray show swelling of adenoids. left side nose has cold from last 3 months. right side nose is dry but cannot breath through nose. right side ear has roaring sensation some times. hypertrophy of left side turbinate. it get too large & protruding up to end of nose.( pink in color. sensitive to touch. it getting big in last month. before that it is not so big & attached laterally that’s why I know it is turbinate) snoring loudly at the night. breathing through mouth. irritable at night. cannot concentrated in school. slightly hyperactive. cannot seat 5 min at one place. when playing she plays ( imagination) characters from movies which she seen. In the initial stage nose was congested and there was dificulty in breathing resulting in dry mouth and throat.In the begining I was using Metazoline like nasal decongestants which was used once durin going to bed and it was sufficient.
Now requrement of nasal decongestant drops has been increased to 4 to 5 times a day, 2-3 times from evening to night. It is more in cold days.
I feel only homeopathy can help me.

I am facing sinus problems, and am providing the below observations after gone through CT Scan and Endoscopy –
Serial axis and coronal sections of the paranasal sinuses are studied without IV contrast and the following observations are made –
Gross mucosal thickening in left maxillary sinus
extending into the left nasal cavity with internal airpockets.
Bony defects in the floor and medial wall of left maxillary sinus – Suggestive of erosions.
Gross mucosal thickening in bilateral frontal, ethmoidal and left sphenoidal sinuses. Few ill defined hyperdense areas seen within the mucosal thickening.
Mild mucosal thickening in right maxillary and sphenoidal sinuses.
Erosion in the roof of left sphenoidal sinus adjacent to the left anterior cavernous segment of internal carotid artery.
Bilateral osteo-meatal occlusion noted.
Thinning/erosions of the bony nasal septum noted.
S shaped nasal septal deviation.

I am a 26 year old male. my height is 5’5”. my body weight 85 kg. i am fair in complexion.
in year 2007 my weight was 66 kg then in 2010-72kg 2012 -75 kg 2013-80kg.
i am a vegetarian, eats very less as 2 chapati in morning, 2 chapati and a bowl of rice in lunch and on an average 2 chapati in dinner.
I do not perform any specific exercise apart from my walking for market ie 1.5 km from hostel.
From last 6-7 years i was suffering from allergy from dust and cold. I use to sneeze a lot when ever came in contact of the house dust and cold. i frequently suffered from cough and cold till 2012, and doctors use to prescribe me azithromicine and cetrizin, in those days i started snoring. Then i suffered from breathlessness. doctor prescribed me some inhaler. and medicine like some ‘filine and Grabid DSR’ but was not willing to take that inhaler too long so i stopped using it after 2 month.
After that i took some Ayurvedic medicine a and. homeopathic medicine. now sneezing is no more any problem to me, but i am not able to breath clearly, nasal congestion is there. snoring creates louder sound. I tried to go for jogging in morning but i feel breathlessness. walking long is OK for me. but some time, time is concern.

I have been suffering from blockage of nose for past 16 years now, i am 29 years old female and i have been using otrivin nasal drops ever since. Recently i came to know about the serious side effects of the said nasal drops and got worried. I came to know that it can cause damage to our vital parts and is addictive if taken in long run.
My doctor told me to get PNS done. my PNS report says i have MILD DEVIATION OF NASAL SEPTUM WITH BILATERAL MAXILLARY SINUSITIS.
