ULCERATIVE COLITIS (UC) is a disease in which the lining of the large intestine (colon) becomes inflamed. This inflammation leads to the formation of raw sores, or ulcers, causing pain and bloody diarrhea. UC usually begins gradually with bloody diarrhea, rectal bleeding, cramps or pain in the belly, and growing urgency to move the bowels. Depending on which area of the colon is affected, the stool may be normal or hard and dry.
Other symptoms may be fever, fatigue, weight loss, loss of appetite, anaemia from loss of blood, pus in the stool, malnutrition and slow growth in children.
UC can also affect parts of the body outside the colon, causing skin sores, mouth sores, joint pain, and inflammation of the eyes, the liver, the kidneys or the gallbladder.
Homeopathic medicines Merc Sol, Merc Cor, Sulphur and Phosphorus are a few of the important ones used in treating ulcerative colitis. The patient requiring Merc Sol has a continuous urge for passing stool and urine ? a never-get-done feeling. One often passes pure blood or bloody water. Symptoms asking for Merc Cor are nearly the same as those of Merc Sol; it is only the intensity which contributes to the selection. Merc Cor has more violent attacks, with a violent urge to pass stool and to urinate. Intense suffering follows. Phosphorus is indicated in cases which have painless and profuse stool passed involuntarily and freely.
Sulphur is indicated in long-standing cases of ulcerative colitis

Dear Dr. I am 60years old and had UC attack in Oct, 2011 .I was taking steroids and Mesacol 800 Thrice and now for four months I have been taking Vegaz O D 1.2 twice daily. I have very restricted diet. I am now a Tetotaler but i am told that i shall have to continue the medicine for life.
I have started taking a liquid known Dr. advice No 28 for colitis sold by REP Renovision Exports Pvt. Ltd. I feel better and improvement. Please advise if it can cure permanently or suggest some precautions and other homeopathic medicine.

Dear Doctor, Im 59 yr and last 5 yrs dignosed ulcerative colitis earlier i ws taking masacol 800 thrice a day, after relief of 3to 4 months i consulted another gastroenterologist he suggested asacol two caps thrice after 3 months much relieved then dr advised two cap twice daily but after 5 months again flared up, i have acute constipation take musibael two spoons daily, have to go toilet 5 to 6 times in morning at noon twice hardly any stool but with mucus with traces of blood and at evening only mucus with traces of blood, again i consulted my dr advised to take two caps balacol thrice a day, i am diabatic so as per my doctor steroid can not be given which could have given quick relieve, i want to know whether whole life i have to take different medicines or i can lead normal life

I have been suffering from ulcerative colits for last 15 years and on strong elopathy medicine called Azoran (50 mg thrice a day) & 6 Tablets of Asacol since then (Also took around 50 mg wysolone everyday for 8 to 10 years [since 2007]). There is no permanent cure in elopathy as my gastroentrologist told me. Can you please recomend me any homeopathy medicine which can cure the problem forever. I will really apperciate that.

I am suffering from ulcerative colits on my third year stage, that time i used homeopathic medicin. it was reduced and then now i have 15 years just now 6 months back the same problem was repeted sevearly.Then we meet elopathy doctor,and told all details of this problem. He said on that time ( my third year stage) the problem was not cured with homeopathic treatment.so we are using only elopathy treatment only, and doctor was telling there is no permenent solution for this diseas(ulcerative colits) Can you please recomend me any homeopathy medicine which can cure the problem forever. I also suffer from Osteoarthritis and blood pressure. I take Cartil tablets for arthritis and Amdip for blood pressure.
I am 46 yrs old. homroidectomy was done on 25/05/2012.
15 days after surgery started continuous bleeding while passing stool.
On 20th june went for thorough checkup and according to docs thy hav enlarged the anus mouth too.Again started bleeding after 4 days.
Went to aiims on 9/8/2012 for checkup and they hav recommended colonoscopy (prescribed medicines :daflon 500mg for a month)(colonoscopy no yet performed)
still fresh blood comes while passing stool.
and gas problem has also started after surgery .

My wife (Mrs Dhan Devi) is suffering from UC for Approx last 18 years. She is now 41 years old and she does not take any spicy, chilli, milk & milak made food always eats only organic veg foods. Treatment from PGI Rohtak is continue, earlier from GB Pant Delhi 1.Tab Mesacol 1.2 gm BD, 2. Pre & pro Cap, A to Z & Lansoprazole along with steriod sometime.Presently suffering acute weight loss, fatigue,enable to home work etc. No blood in stool,only 2-3 times go to toilet instead of 6 to 7.She is always at the stable condition,Her colonoscopy is scheduled to be 3 yers ago.
