ULCERATIVE COLITIS (UC) is a disease in which the lining of the large intestine (colon) becomes inflamed. This inflammation leads to the formation of raw sores, or ulcers, causing pain and bloody diarrhea. UC usually begins gradually with bloody diarrhea, rectal bleeding, cramps or pain in the belly, and growing urgency to move the bowels. Depending on which area of the colon is affected, the stool may be normal or hard and dry.
Other symptoms may be fever, fatigue, weight loss, loss of appetite, anaemia from loss of blood, pus in the stool, malnutrition and slow growth in children.
UC can also affect parts of the body outside the colon, causing skin sores, mouth sores, joint pain, and inflammation of the eyes, the liver, the kidneys or the gallbladder.
Homeopathic medicines Merc Sol, Merc Cor, Sulphur and Phosphorus are a few of the important ones used in treating ulcerative colitis. The patient requiring Merc Sol has a continuous urge for passing stool and urine ? a never-get-done feeling. One often passes pure blood or bloody water. Symptoms asking for Merc Cor are nearly the same as those of Merc Sol; it is only the intensity which contributes to the selection. Merc Cor has more violent attacks, with a violent urge to pass stool and to urinate. Intense suffering follows. Phosphorus is indicated in cases which have painless and profuse stool passed involuntarily and freely.

i was diagnosed with distal colitis in march 2012 and treated with wyslone (steroid), vegazOD 1.2 and mesacol enema/suppository. the problem does go away after a period of treatment but remission occurs periodically. can you suggest some remedy in homeo for the same

I am suffering from abdomen pain after motion from last 7 yrs Colonoscopy done twice in 2005 when I was 17yrs it was all normal a haemoorid and now in 2012 when am 24 its normal but found an ulcer in the rectal. I get lots of mucus with stool sometime only mucus. I dont know where to go at the time of pain as it starts only after the motion as if it gets irritate I need to undestand how to relax at that time as I try for manual evacuation when I don’t get the empty stomach feeling…
Please suggest, your help in this regard would be great.

My doctor recommend me to take medicine for life time. i am taking medicine but i fell same as before taking medicine.i’ve also consulted with homeopathic doc. he told me that i could recover but i ve to leave alopathy medicine…my alopathy doc doesn’t recommed me that . i know, i could not recover by using alopathy medicine. i still have hyper acidity,irregular bowel,left eyes flattering,headache or others….

As per colonoscopy it seem that (Errisive ulcer and multiple ulcer in assending colon.) and Daily I am going 5 times to pass tools. and every time passes blood with tools thereafter some time 3 or 4 drops. I am consulting homopathi Hospital Dharwad Karnatka. and thay had given Rubren q daily 3 times 12 drops. but the blood not come down. I am Government employer with age of 54. hi, dr. sharma my name is uma. in 2002 they found ulcerative colites in us . past 10 years i have taken alopathy treatement in us. now last 2 years i live in india, last one and half years i take homeopathy medicine along with allopathy. stil i could not find any diffrence. can homeopathy medicine cure u c or not ? now i am talking nit acid 200.
I am suffering from Procolitis from last 3 yaers, Colonoscopy has been two times in these 3 years, last colonoscopy has done around one year back, My infection is only in rectum portion, Mucous is coming on daily basis, but boold comes rerely, But I have to go at least 7-7 times in a day. I have been diagnosed with moderately active recto sigmoid UC in Oct 2012. It was characterised by abdominal pain, loose stools, blood in stool and weakness. I have been on Mesalmine (allopathic medicine) since 6.10.2012. Initially one tablet (1.2g) three times a day. All symptoms reduced by about 99% by the end of Oct 2012. My doctor reduced mesalmine 1.2g to once a day. It was fine till mid of Nov 12. Howeever, symptoms (loose stool and slight blood in stool) resurfaced arouond 15.11.2012. I was given mesalemine aneama for a week. After that, blood in stool was reduced considerably. Only a few spots of blood were visible in stool. Stool was also normal. However, bleeding has been increasing of late despite taking mesalemine. Could you please tell me the extnet to which Homeopathy can cure my condition.

I am querying on behalf of my 31/2 year daughter ,diagnosed having “procto-collitis ” after a colonoscopy and biopsy on may 2012. She had her first attack on 30th November 2011. She bled on and off till june 2012. She had a second attack on may 2012 ,after her colonoscopy and underwent barium enema.She had beeen on teatment since may 2012 by taking Asacol gastro-resistant suppositories ans solupred 20 mg prednisolone . I am from Canada, 27yrs, got UC 1 yr ago,(not sure if its related to UC but i am having hair loss (almost 80% hair have fallen off from crown in last 1 yr) which doesnt seem to be like genetic as my parents or grand parents never had male pattern baldness, also i have itchy oily scalp, itching is so intensed that i feel i could use knife to itch and have dandruff) having second flare so far for 1 month, taking ASACOL 800mg twice aday, having bloody diarrhea and too much flatulence, going washroom frequently, but doesnt feel relieved, took MERCOR 30 and MERCOR 200, didnt work. Please advise on which homeopathic remedy to use, i would be very thankful to you, my life is becoming a nightmare living with this disease. Thanks

I am a patient of ulcerative colitis since 1989.I had taken steroids.mesacol,enemas etc.Since 2008,I am not taking any allopathic medicines.I am not passing any blood.However Diarrhoea/dysentry keeps on occuring.Infact it is a daily feature.The problem is that I can not control it even for a second.No of times situation has become embarrasing.In the morning,situation is very acute.I also have severe mucous (phelgm) which I feel is connected to passing of motions.As soon as i pass the motions ,phelgm in large quantity comes out. Its color is generally white.23 years of this disease has effected me mentally and physically.I have tried all types of medicines.I do not take liquor nor I smoke.Any hope?
This is vivek from mysore am facing uc from 2years. But already i have treated by DR. Abid sattar(gastroentrology), He has prescribed me Pantocid-40mg, coolgut tab, omnacortil, folic acid tab, mesacol enema but one month back it controlled but ganesh festival came in that time i eat lot of dry food i taken once again iam going 6times per day but very suffering about uc. what shal i do plz suggest me. am purely kannadiga , am not doing any drinks and smoking.

I had this problem 5 months after i had my first child in 2007, so i was advised to take mesacol. Now i have my second child he is 5 months old i had stopped taking the tablets from last one year sine i was pregnant. Now i have the same problem; should i continue with the tablets…….?
