ULCERATIVE COLITIS (UC) is a disease in which the lining of the large intestine (colon) becomes inflamed. This inflammation leads to the formation of raw sores, or ulcers, causing pain and bloody diarrhea. UC usually begins gradually with bloody diarrhea, rectal bleeding, cramps or pain in the belly, and growing urgency to move the bowels. Depending on which area of the colon is affected, the stool may be normal or hard and dry.
Other symptoms may be fever, fatigue, weight loss, loss of appetite, anaemia from loss of blood, pus in the stool, malnutrition and slow growth in children.
UC can also affect parts of the body outside the colon, causing skin sores, mouth sores, joint pain, and inflammation of the eyes, the liver, the kidneys or the gallbladder.
Homeopathic medicines Merc Sol, Merc Cor, Sulphur and Phosphorus are a few of the important ones used in treating ulcerative colitis. The patient requiring Merc Sol has a continuous urge for passing stool and urine ? a never-get-done feeling. One often passes pure blood or bloody water. Symptoms asking for Merc Cor are nearly the same as those of Merc Sol; it is only the intensity which contributes to the selection. Merc Cor has more violent attacks, with a violent urge to pass stool and to urinate. Intense suffering follows. Phosphorus is indicated in cases which have painless and profuse stool passed involuntarily and freely.
Sulphur is indicated in long-standing cases of ulcerative colitis

I was detected UC in Sep 2011. I gone with colonoscopy, biopsy to confirm and started SAZO 500 (2 times @ 2 tabs each time) + Pro biotics. It had given slight relief…so treated with endofoam corticisteroid. After 4 months english medicies, I was started with Ayurveda from Kandamkulathy, thrissur, kerala…..which given a great relief. In this June 2011, i took one colonoscopy, which detected interrupted and non-uniform areas of infections. Means, the UC was seems curing. But i heard that Homeo was giving better relief since good for usage friendly too since i am in Bahain. =So now in Homeo treat from SERENE HOMEO, TRIVANDRUM for last 2 months. It is okay and now taking all foods except Chicken meat , Yellow of egg, No beef / mutton, No fried food, NO WHEAT FOODS, No too much spicy food, NO Raw Milk (with tea is okay), No to raw vegetables. You can be YES to rice products, curd to some extent, ripe bananas, peeled apples, potatoes.
Now toilet is 3 times max…and weight lost was in steady at 64. Apetite is normal.

Dear friends, there is no cure for UC but only thing one can do is to be in remission as long as possible. I suffered from UC for over 8 years. My nature of jobwas Legal, strenuous and stuck seat for over 8-9 hours a day. As long as I continued that, no medicine helped me. But, after the following course, now I am almost rid of the problem and right now experience that I am about 95% free from UC (it seems so for the past about 6-7 months).
1) I quit the job and now on regular walking and totally relaxed. It took almost three months after I quit the job, to experience the relief from UC, of-course with following medicines.
2) MESACOL 800mg twice a day with. Initially I was put on steroid for 2 months and thereafter it was tapered down and now steroid totally stopped for over a year now.
3) Additionally, I also took Ayurvedic medicines as advised by Kottekal Aryavaidyasala, Jayanagar, Bangalore. (This it seems to be major contributory for present relief).
I have rectal ulcer syndrom. I have too much burning in my rectal. what should I do in this regard?
My wife is suffering from U.C. since last 10 years. She was on steroid (Wysolon) for 3 months along with Mesacol. She had devloped body swelling which is now reduced after 2 months of stopping Steroid.Now she is on regular Mescol. However her problem of frequent stools persisit.
Please suggest homeo medicine.

This is Shifali , age 32 years.Since last 10-12 years i am suffering from chronic constipation.As far as i remeber I do not have any history of disease in my family.On consultation with ayurveda doctors , they suggested It could be a case of Dharan.
As a child I sufferred from Jaundice and was very seriuos for some time.
Since then the metabolism of the body has reduced a lot and I started gaining weight.
At times I felt that even water was getting stored in my stomach.
what ever I eat leads to a bulge in my stomach, followed by flautence( with the feeling that air is traped and find difficult to pass it) and there was no motion for weeks without senna leaves.

Ulcerative colitis patient last 6 yrs non stop bleeding mucus etc, tried homeopathy and Ayurveda as well along with allopathy medicine. Plz help I would like to buy med from u if u can stop my bleeding . till now only steroids could only stopped it for a month or 2 in this 6 yrs span.
