Top 12 Homeopathic Remedies for Urethral Stricture Treatment

Urethral stricture refers to narrowing of the urethra which is typically caused due to formation of scar tissue. The urethra is the lowermost part of the urinary tract through which urine passes out from the urinary bladder. Urethral strictures are more common in males than in females.

A holistic and completely natural science of healing, homoeopathy can be effective in treating urethral stricture. In the beginning, these medicines work help in bringing significant relief in signs and symptoms of urethral stricture, like straining to urinate, weak or split stream of urine, frequent urge to urinate, interrupted urine. They ensure that the passage of urine becomes normal again and is completely painless. Once the symptoms start going away, the medicines work towards dissolving the scar in the urethra for long-term recovery.

Homeopathic Remedies for Urethral Stricture

In conventional medicine, treatment involves frequent dilatation called catheterization and surgical intervention in cases of urethral stricture. These procedures carry a risk of many side effects and urethral stricture may reappear. Moreover, they offer temporary and short-term relief in symptoms with no permanent solution for urethral strictures. On the other hand, homeopathy treats it very gently and offers long-term relief without any adverse side effects. In many cases of mild to moderate intensity, homoeopathy can help in avoiding surgical intervention. The earlier the homeopathic treatment is started, the higher are the chances of cure without surgery.

Homeopathy follows the principle of Similimum, which means that medicines are prescribed after thorough evaluation of individual’s symptoms by a homoeopathic doctor and the medicine which matches most closely is selected. The same principle is applied in cases of urethral strictures as well. Once the medicine is finalized, the potency and dosage of that medicine is decided. The dosage can vary from case to case depending on the age of the person, the intensity of symptoms and chronicity of the complaint.

Homeopathy is completely safe for treating urethral stricture as these medicines are prepared from natural substances which are free of any chemicals or toxins and are highly diluted.

3. Surgical operations (Post-operative Urethral Stricture): It may follow a prostate operation, kidney stone removal surgery, hypospadias surgery (to correct urethral opening position in penis)

4. Recurrent urinary tract infection (UTI) and inflammatory conditions of the urethra (urethritis).

5. Sexually transmitted infections: Few infections include gonorrhea and chlamydia infection.

6. Passage of kidney stone

7. Radiation therapy

Complications of Urethral Stricture

If not treated timely, urethral strictures can lead to serious complications like:

1. Urinary retention

2. Urinary Tract Infection

3. Kidney stones

4. Urethral fistula

5. Hydronephrosis (swollen kidneys from build-up of fluid inside them)

6. Chronic kidney disease due to persistent obstruction

7. Urinary incontinence

8. Sexual dysfunctions (Painful ejaculation and intercourse)

Diagnosis of Urethral Strictures

Urethral strictures are diagnosed by conducting various tests and scans, such as

1. Uro-flowmetry Test: Itmeasures the amount of urine passed out from the body and the speed of its passage, plus the total time taken to pass all urine

2. Retrograde Urethrogram (RGU):In this case, an X-ray film is taken after injecting a contrast agent through the penis opening. It reveals the location and length of the stricture in the urethra, if present.

3. Cystoscopy:A camera is inserted inside the penis to view the inside of the urethra and to look for a stricture.

4. MRI, CT scan and Ultrasound: These are done to view urethra and adjacent structures.

My father is detected with urethra stricture, and doc suggested for surgery, which he want to avoid. Please suggest.

    • Hello Dr. Sharma,
I have been dealing with urethral scar tissue from a farming accident for about 20 years. This year I had my 3rd surgery to surgically remove scar tissue.

Based on your information above, it appears that Thiosinaminum would be a good alternative to finally heal the scar tissue once and for all.

If you could please recommend dosage and duration for taking it, I would greatly appreciate it.

My medical history is kidney stones since three years and I passed two small stones on my own and few very tiny stones through out the 3 years period . As of now , i only have two three very small stones in my kidney which is not giving any trouble so far but two weeks ago I had urine retention and doctor posed a catheter in me for 5 days and when they took it out, it was a sense for relief for three days until I started seeing blood in my urine in small amount , burning at the tip of my penis(urethra) and pain when I pass my urine . I went to the Emergejcy room again complaining these symptoms and they checked for sexually transmitted disease and treated me for gonorrehea even though I had no infection and no std . I came home two days after again I’m not comfortable padding my urine . My urine flow is weak to good through out the day but when it ends , I feel a sense of sharp shock like there is a wound at the tip of my penis . Also, sometimes when I move I feel something is there. What could it be? Is it stricture? I’m scheduled for cystoscopy but I want to be treated and get better with homeopathic meds if I can .

First of all I’m so glad that natural medicine exists to treat a sricture in the urethra.

My husband has some narrowness in the urethral tract and he gets infections very often as he does not empty his bladder completely when he passes urine and therefore bacteria accumulates and causes infections. He was operated but the operation was not successful. He has to have dilatation very often and the catether makes him feel very unfomfortable and is very painful. This has been going on for quite a while and I am very worried about it.

Can you please suggest some kind of natural remedy which, if possible, will help cure this problem?

I look forward to your reply and am very grateful.

    Kind regards

  16. Hello. I have a bit of a complicated andn time-sensitive situation. Long-story-short, I have recurrent Cervical Cancer w/local mastesization. I transitioned to an all organic, plant-based diets a long time ago and incorporate juicing and excellent supplements into my daily protocol. Either as a result of scar tissue from my major surgery in 2015 (radical hysterectomy w/LND), one doctor is of the opinion (as are we) that I know have a partial right ureter obstruction due to scar tissue – or possibly due to nodule/tumor compression within the bladder.

Upon my oncologist’s recommendation, I consulted w/a urologist who recommended surgery and placement of a stent in the ureter. I pray for a non-invasive way to heal this problem. I visit a holistic gal who is excellent and is an excellent certified nutritionist and have undergone an extensive detoxing of the body over the past several months.

Since my problem is worsening and I’m feeling pain and discomfort in my right side/groin area, I contacted the urologist who now says he does not want to do the surgery himself since I have recurrent cancer in that area – after reassuring me that there would be no problem. In addition to other supplements to strengthen my immune system, etc., I take a traditional chinese yin/kidney supplement after visiting an TCM accupuncturist/herbologist.

I’m desperately trying to avoid this or any more surgery and I’ve reduced the size/firmness of the 3 nodules via homeopathic/nutritional means over the past 4 months because I do not want radiation or any other poison in my body. Besides this ureter problem, I feel really healthy!

We think the problem is scar tissue since I was never able to void properly or completely since the surgery and the problems I was faced with the catheter post-surgery. However, I don’t rule out that the problem could be a result of both tumor compression and/or scar tissue/robotic surgical injury.

I am looking at two of the remedies you recommend – Clematis and Thiosinaminum. Is is possible to dissolve the blockage? This would be incredible and my preference to yet another invasive surgery!

I hope you read my story and respond – I would be most grateful. I don’t want to just buy anything without being well-informed first. If the Thiosinaminum could work, that would be absoluely awesome! I’ve spent months and months detoxing and building up my entire system and health and if there is a way to avoid invasive surgery and drugs, I would love to know.

    Thank you.
