Urethral stricture refers to narrowing of the urethra which is typically caused due to formation of scar tissue. The urethra is the lowermost part of the urinary tract through which urine passes out from the urinary bladder. Urethral strictures are more common in males than in females.
A holistic and completely natural science of healing, homoeopathy can be effective in treating urethral stricture. In the beginning, these medicines work help in bringing significant relief in signs and symptoms of urethral stricture, like straining to urinate, weak or split stream of urine, frequent urge to urinate, interrupted urine. They ensure that the passage of urine becomes normal again and is completely painless. Once the symptoms start going away, the medicines work towards dissolving the scar in the urethra for long-term recovery.
In conventional medicine, treatment involves frequent dilatation called catheterization and surgical intervention in cases of urethral stricture. These procedures carry a risk of many side effects and urethral stricture may reappear. Moreover, they offer temporary and short-term relief in symptoms with no permanent solution for urethral strictures. On the other hand, homeopathy treats it very gently and offers long-term relief without any adverse side effects. In many cases of mild to moderate intensity, homoeopathy can help in avoiding surgical intervention. The earlier the homeopathic treatment is started, the higher are the chances of cure without surgery.
Homeopathy follows the principle of Similimum, which means that medicines are prescribed after thorough evaluation of individual’s symptoms by a homoeopathic doctor and the medicine which matches most closely is selected. The same principle is applied in cases of urethral strictures as well. Once the medicine is finalized, the potency and dosage of that medicine is decided. The dosage can vary from case to case depending on the age of the person, the intensity of symptoms and chronicity of the complaint.
Homeopathy is completely safe for treating urethral stricture as these medicines are prepared from natural substances which are free of any chemicals or toxins and are highly diluted.

6. Chronic kidney disease due to persistent obstruction
7. Urinary incontinence
8. Sexual dysfunctions (Painful ejaculation and intercourse)
Diagnosis of Urethral Strictures
Urethral strictures are diagnosed by conducting various tests and scans, such as

2. Retrograde Urethrogram (RGU):In this case, an X-ray film is taken after injecting a contrast agent through the penis opening. It reveals the location and length of the stricture in the urethra, if present.
3. Cystoscopy:A camera is inserted inside the penis to view the inside of the urethra and to look for a stricture.
4. MRI, CT scan and Ultrasound: These are done to view urethra and adjacent structures.

After prolongued BPH I now have a urethral stricture and they are talking about Substitute Urethroplasy to repair parts of the urethra. Until about 2 months’ ago, I did not have the complete blockage that I now have.
They say it is due to scar tissue and I am very interested in any medicine that may reduce the scar tissue, rather than have invasive surgery which may not cure permanently.
I am currently using a catheter from my bladder into a bag for urine disposal.
I am in USA so if need be, I could come to see you in Canada.

Dear Dr Sharma,
I had a Holep prostatectomy end of Nov. 2017. It is now Feb 2018. For the month of Dec I had a really good flow, but also developed a pseudomonas infection, treated with Ciprofloxacin sucessfully. It is now end of Feb.2018 and I have developed a weak stream, straining to void, hesitancy, incomplete emptying dysuria, frequency and burning. Have seen the surgeon and he wants to wait a bit longer before doing a cystoscopy. I suspect there may be a urethral stricture there. It is very uncomfortable and I would appreciate a treatment regime I could start. I am a registered nurse, physician assistant, and classically trained homoeopath. I believe that my urethra may have had some stretching trauma from the operating endoscope or there could be some bladder neck restriction, although this is not known yet.
Plz prescribe oral medicine for urethral scar

Hello; I had a stent in my ureter for 50 days which came out one week ago. About two-three days after it was taken out, I started getting pain in the bladder when I sit down. it reminded me of all the pain in the same area when I had the stent in. Could it be that the bladder is irritated and when I sit down it crunches the bladder and irritates it? which homeopathic cure would suit this?

Dr. Sharma,
I have a Urethral Stricture.
I have done 2 cystoscopies. One in March and the other in early December.
After the one in December I found it very difficult to wee and at times there was only a dribble.
I am in excruciating pain when I go to wee. I was given Neurontin 600mg 3 times a day along with neurofen for a month. That has finished and I am still in terrible pain.
Just did the Uriflow test and the flow is not good. My urologist has told me to continue with neurofen. I do get a lot of relief when I take it,but I must take it at least 3 times a day.
I have just returned from India and bought Cantharis 200 and Conium 200 and I have started taking 3 tablets 3times a day.
Any help advise will be much appreciated. Thank you
