Speech delay is the most common type of developmental delay. A child not paying attention to other people and not responding to sounds is one of the first warnings of possible speech delay. Hi Dr., My son is now 5 years old and is yet to speak words to communicate. He can sing rhymes, copy some actions from a youtube video for eg. and repeat what that person was doing in the video. For eg. say in the video a person was talking about colors, my son would mimic by using differnt color of baloons.
He does not use words to communicate to us. eg. if he wants water then he would push my had towards the waterbottle. He gives proper eye contact and can follow some orders. He ways hands but never says “Hi”.
He does not have any hearing issues and nor he had any ear infection.
Growth is normal with body weight as 20kg and ht close to 4ft. He eats all kinds of food but its difficult to feed him fruits. Please help us with the medicines if any, as we are losing our patience and hope day by day.
