Attention Deficit Hyperactive disorder ADHD
It is estimated that about 3-5 percent of all kids, have this disorder. Also the most unfortunate thing is that in many cases this disorder goes totally undiagnosed .The child is often mistaken as hyper-energetic kid or as just being more playful, but the reality is that many such kids suffer from a medical disorder known as Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder or ADHD.
It is a common belief that only kids showing signs of physical hyperactivity have some problem related to this disorder. Well, this actually it is not the complete truth. Symptoms of consistent inattentiveness are also associated with this disorder. It is characterized by hyperactivity (physical), inattentiveness, and impulsivity

Kids having ADHD usually depict either of three patterns of behavior. Either they are more of the hyperactive type, which means that they are more physically hyperactive (constantly moving jumping running fidgeting squirming, having difficulty sitting in one place etc) or the ‘inattentive type’ (having difficulty in concentrating, easily distracted) or the ‘combined type’ (having symptoms of hyperactivity and inattention both).
Not all children who run and jump too much suffer from ADHD. It is very important to realize that for a child to be diagnosed with ADHD, certain criterion has to be met with also called as the DSM criteria, before a child can be said to be suffering from it.
Nobody exactly knows what causes ADHD. Recent researches point out the causes could be either neurobiological or genetical. Certain chemical levels in the brain have been found low (dopamine -a chemical that sends messages to the part of the brain involved in attention, movement and motivation). Increased levels of heavy metals (lead) in the body is also seen in some kids .The kind of parenting given to the child has no role in the causation of this disorder, although bad parenting can influence the severity of this disorder.
Implication of ADHD can have far reaching effects, with the schooling of the child taking the biggest hit. Poor performance in school due to ADHD can lead to a hampered self esteem in the child .ADHD can also lead to learning disabilities, defiant behavior ,conduct disorder(anti-social behaviour,stealing ,fighting), anxiety disorders and depression .
Severe forms of ADHD are difficult to differentiate from milder forms of autism, a careful approach is necessary in diagnosing and treating such forms. Such severe forms affect the child?s normal mental development .for example speech and cognitive skills can be markedly affected in such cases.
Homoeopathy for ADHD

Sir, My daughter is having ADHD sympton. She is studying in Class XI. She is inattentive, aggressive, having hyperactivity, memory power is very less.

my child is 10 yrs and he suffers from mild ADHD. His IQ is above average but attention span is small. His medication will begin very soon. Can homeopathy completely cure the desiese? will the intensity of the diesese reduce with age?

Hello dr. My son is 6years old n he have adhd some symtoms n in attentiveness. Like he always moving n speaking, fighting with his toys .he can’t sit one place quietly .inattentiveness all symptoms have present in him. He get wait n height more but his speech are not very clear. He looks like 10years old but his speech like 4or5 years child .some times his behaviour or mentale level look like 4or5 years child.main problem is that he can’t concentrate in his classroom n also in home when we try to him sit for study. Always move in his seats n distruct to other things.he is good in study when we able to teach him,but sum times this will be possible .plz advise me how n where treat this things . I will very thankful to u for this advise.

My 6.6 year old son is having ADHD problem which was diagnoised recently.
We started the medication from 14/06/2013 and giving him the Inspiral-10 SR and Sizodon as per doctors prescription.
But am not sure whether Sizodon can be used for children by seeing the warning on the medicine.

I m an advocate and a single mother from Gondia. I was having too much complications during my pragnancy. My child is 4 and half year old. When he was 2 year old he was suffering from TB and thereafter was operated for apendix. His treatment of TB was continued for 18 month and during this period there was no progress neither in his health nor mind. I came to know he is unable to speak. His bera is normal.
