Chronic sinusitis is a condition in which the sinuses inside our skull become inflamed for months and years together. This condition can considerably reduce ones quality of life. Patients suffering from chronic Sinusitis complain of difficulty in breathing from nose, headaches, pain and tenderness in the face.
Yellow greenish discharges may also be present from the nose and also from the back of the throat. The main symptoms of chronic sinusitis are pain in the face and pressure in the areas of forehead, temples, cheeks, and nose and behind the eyes, discharge of a thick yellow or greenish discharge from the nose or down the back of the throat, obstructed and difficult breathing through the nose, diminished sense of smell or taste, frequent Headache (especially in morning), Teeth pain, Fatigue, Cough, and Sore throat.
As homeopathy is a symptom based system of medicine, the prescription is based upon the symptoms presented by the patient. Many symptomatic factors determine the choice of remedy .i.e. the type of discharges from the nose and throat, the sinus that is involved and other factors like the time of the year when this problem increases also its relation to weather. The main homeopathic medicines used for treating chronic sinusitis are Hydrastis, kali bichrome, Silicea and Merc Sol. Luffa Opercula requires a special mention for treating allergies and sinusitis both. Lemna Minor works well in cases where the sinusitis is complicated by nasal polyps.
At times the treatment of underlying allergy may also require a totally different set of medicines. Prescription based on the detailed study of the patient’s physical and mental makeup (which is also called as constitutional prescribing) is at times required to cure the allergy from the base.

I am 41 years old, i am suffering from sinusitis from last 2.5 years, i am facing the breathing problem and nostril blockage specially severe towards left side, sometimes bad smell, fever, weight and protein loss and fatigue as well. Doctor has diagnosed the polyps in both the nostrils. presently i am taking the medicines teucrium marum verum 4x(10 drops thrice in a day), Lemma Minor Q(10 drops thrice in a day), Bio combination(8 pills in a day) and Omeo Allergy 2 tablets four times in a day. Still problem is going on, and i got afraid of the upcoming winter weather which always put me in more trouble. More important, doctor said that i have to take the medicine for 6 months, if not cured than i have to undergo the surgery. i have discussed with number of known people those who had already gone for the surgery, according to them sinusitis can have recurrence. i am bit scared please advise me, is it fully curable with the homeopathic medicines? and, is there any need to add or reduce the medicine which i am already taking?

I wanted to ask my 9 yr old daughter is sufferring from chronic cold,has lots of loose chest congestion makes a heavy rattling sound, most of the times complains that she feels hot and needs fan, has become very thin. and no nasal discharge.
this are the symptoms while if there is a cold draft like now she gets all stuffed and choked up.
this has been going on for past 4 years the cold never goes away, it becomes high or low but never completely goes away.
when her symptoms are acute we treat her with antibiotics.
want to give her homeopaty.

Dr . Sharma i am suffering from sinusitis from the last 12 years.
My symptoms are
1) No Sneezing.
2) No Discharge most of the time (however sometime there is very thick water color gum type phlegm).
3) Dull continuous , pressure , headache on left side.
4) Allergic to dust.
5) Can breath easily, but there is some blockage in the left nostril. (nasal turbinates are enlarged).
6)No pain during sleep.
7) cleaning nose internally with warm water provide some relief for short time.
No antibiotic and anti allergic works for me.
I have observed that bacillinum 200 some times work.
Please help. I will be very thanks full to you.

I hv chronic frontal sinusitos since 7year I took alopathic treatment for it and aurvadic too so my nose not get blocked every time but yes it still blocks many time my doctor told I hv allergy but dont understand from which is symptoms happen any time not specific.

I’ve been battling chronic sinusitis for over 10 years. I’ve had three nasal cavity surgeries to remove polyps, to correct a deviated septum, and to open up all of my sinuses, especially the frontal pair. Things are good for about a year but a slow diminishing of available airflow through my nose, especially at night, coupled with a decreasing sense of smell are inevitable. My last surgery was in July 2011. I cannot smell a thing right now and I have difficulty breathing through my nose in the morning and late afternoon until I wake up.
