Pilar Cysts are keratin-filled bumps developing on the skin surface that grow around hair follicles and commonly occur on the scalp. Keratin is a type of that is present in the skin cells, hair and the nail cells). The content of these cysts look somewhat like an oily toothpaste. The hair follicles refers to tiny holes in the skin from where the hair grows. It has four parts – the bulb, papilla, germinal matrix and bulge. Astigmatism is a common vision problem that arises when the curve of the cornea or lens is not in the right way as it should be (normally it should be like a round ball shaped). In this condition the cornea or lens has an irregular curve. Due to this light that enters into the eyes doesn’t focus on the retina properly that causes blurred or distorted vision. Causes

It arises from an irregular curvature of the cornea or the lens. Cornea is the clear transparent outer layer of the eye that covers the front portion of the eye. In a normal eye the cornea and lens have a round curve like a ball. It bends the light equally to give a focused image on the retina. But in case of astigmatism the cornea or lens is egg shaped with two different curves. As a result the light rays entering the eyes focus on two points on the retina rather than one. 9. Silicea – For Pain in Thigh Bone (Femur)

Thoracic back pain refers to pain in the upper or middle back in the region of thoracic spine between the bottom of cervical spine (in the neck) and top of lumbar spine (in the lower back). Causes

Altitude sickness refers to a group of symptoms that can arise in a person from going at higher altitudes too quickly. It happens due to low levels of oxygen at high altitudes. It is also known by the name of mountain sickness.  This condition usually occurs at altitudes of 8,000 feet (ft) or higher. People who live at high altitudes are adapted to low oxygen saturation, but persons who travel to higher altitudes than their body is used to can develop altitude sickness. Climbing, hiking, driving at higher altitudes too rapidly or climbing at too high altitudes poses a risk of it because the body doesn’t get enough time then to adjust to the decreased oxygen levels. Classification of Altitude Sickness

It is classified into three types:

Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS) :

It is the  most common and the mildest form of altitude sickness. Its symptoms include dizziness, headache, nausea and muscle aches.

High – Altitude Cerebral Edema (HACE):

This form occurs if AMS is not treated well in time and it persists. In this type fluid fills the brain leading to its swelling and hindering its normal functioning. This fluid leaks from blood vessels into the brain that occurs from low oxygen levels resulting in brain swelling. This type needs immediate treatment because it can cause death if not urgently treated. Its symptoms include intense drowsiness, confusion, disorientation, fever, trouble walking and hallucinations (a symptom in which a person sees or hears things not present actually in reality

High – Altitude Pulmonary Edema (HAPE)

In this type excessive fluid builds up in the lungs and hinders its normal function. This type is also life threatening and if not treated immediately can cause death. The symptoms of this type are difficulty breathing even at rest, blueness of skin or lips (cyanosis), persistent intense cough, chest tightness / congestion, rattling or gurgling noises in lungs when breathing, confusion and  weakness.

Dacryocystitis refers to an inflammation or an infection of the tear sac at the inner corner of the eye. Homeopathic medicines for dacryocystitis help to boost the body’s defence mechanism to fight the infection and provide natural relief.

The tear sac is the upper dilated ends of the nasolacrimal ducts (or tear duct) that fill with tears secreted by the lacrimal glands before they get discharged down the nasolacrimal duct into the nose. Tears are produced by lacrimal glands and on blinking the tears spread across the eyes and keeps the eyes moisten, clean and free of bacteria. Afterwards the tears drains through puncta in nasolacrimal duct then into back of the nose. After this new tears comes in and the process is repeated.  When there occur any blockage in the tear sacs or the tear ducts then this cycle gets disturbed and used tears can’t drain from the eye. Causes 

This infection arises mainly from blockage in the tear duct. This blockage can happen for many reasons. Symptoms

Types

Genital itching is a very common complaint experienced by a number of males. It can occur in any part of the male genital area. Causes

Syphilis begins as a painless sore on the genitals, rectum or mouth.

Spinal stenosis refers to narrowing of the spinal canal that puts pressure on spinal cord and nerve roots. Spinal canal is a cavity within the vertebral column containing the spinal cord (long bundle of nerves extending from the base of the brain to the lower back that carries signals between the brain and the rest of the body). Spinal stenosis is of two types. First is cervical stenosis in which the narrowing occurs in the cervical spine in the neck. Second type is lumbar stenosis in which the narrowing occurs in the part of the spine in the lower back.

Causes 

Spinal stenosis can arise from several causes. Firstly, it can happen in case of osteoarthritis in the spine. Osteoarthritis is a form of arthritis that causes degenerative changes in the cartilage and bone of the joint. In such cases the bone growths and thickening of ligaments also occur that tend to compress the spinal canal.
Secondly, it can arise from disk herniation or bulge in the spine. The disks in the spine are soft cushions which act as shock absorbers. In case these herniation or bulge out these can put pressure on the spinal cord or nerves.  Third reason behind it is thickening of ligaments in the spine that function to hold the bones of spine together and can bulge into the spinal canal and compress it.
Next, it may also happen in case of rheumatoid arthritis (an autoimmune disorder affecting joints resulting in inflamed, swollen, painful, stiff joints).
Another medical condition known as paget’s disease that can cause bony overgrowth in the spine may contribute to it. Some of its other causes are tumours or abnormal growths in the spine, injury to the spine and  scoliosis (abnormal curvature of the spine). People having some deformity of spine by birth, some genetic disease affecting bone development in the body and those who are more than 50 yrs of age are at risk of it.  

Symptoms 

In case of slight narrowing no symptoms occur. But when the narrowing is excessive the nerves are compressed leading to symptoms. The symptoms tend to begin gradually. Its symptoms depend upon the location where stenosis is present and which nerves are affected. 

In case of stenosis in the cervical spine in neck the symptoms that occur includes numbness or tingling in hand, arm, leg or foot; or weakness in these parts. Next symptom is neck pain. There may occur problems in walking and maintaining balance. When the condition is severe functioning of the bladder or bowel is affected. Next in case of stenosis in the lumbar spine in the lower back numbness or tingling in a foot or leg occur. With this there can be back pain. Next symptom is pain or cramps in the leg. Weakness in the lower limb may also be there. This worsens from standing for an extensive time period and when walking. Sitting or bending forward may relieve this.

In severe cases paralysis of legs may occur. In some cases cauda equina syndrome may occur. It is a serious condition that arises from compression of the nerves in the lower segment of the spinal canal which is a surgical emergency because if not treated urgently it can lead to permanent paralysis of legs or loss of bladder control (urinary incontinence).

Some symptoms of this syndrome includes severe lower back pain; sciatica pain that travel from lower back down the legs along the path of sciatic nerve, weakness in the legs; problem in walking; loss of sensation in the buttocks, inner thighs, anus and genitals; and bladder dysfunction (difficulty passing urine leading to retention of urine or difficulty in controlling it) or bowel dysfunction (trouble holding or passing stool) and loss of sexual function.
